Best no nonsense how to videos. I installed a whole Ultegra R8000 groupset plus a DT Swiss 11 speed freehub body from your videos (9 speed to 11 speed conversion). Thanks!
Note that on the older 240 hubs there is a circlip holding one of the bearings in. You will need to remove circlip with circlip pliers before you can punch out bearing.
Exactly! I have an old type 350 hub, you also have to remove the securing ring from the inside with pliers and only then can you remove the bearing that way
Your videos are the best! Thank you. I see that the cassette cogs have worn on the notches on the freehub body. How do you know when there is too much wear? Thinking that would seem to play into the decision of when you should replace the whole freehub body vs. just the bearings.
Subbed. You helped me with my first frame/fork build in many years. The Shimano 105 R-7000 front n rear deraileur setup. 👍 My bike is kicking ass! btw haha
I recently emailed DT Swiss about doing this and their advice was that this is not recommended. Apparently you should just change the whole freehub. Seems very wasteful to me. What do we think? Also what is the bearing model number for the hub do you know? Good vid thanks.
Dear Gentlemen, does anybody knows the exact lenght of the spacer between the 2 bearings inside the freehub body? I have a problem where the spacer is totally seized so it is not possible to measure it. Thanks in advance. But anyway, this is a great video representing that replacing 2 bearing is not rocket-science.. and saves a lot a money 🙂
Thx for that video! one question: I have a 350 body, not a 240... looks pretty similar and I managed to extract the outside bearing easily. But the inside one, close to the ratchet system, seems sealed to the body: it's blocked by a sort of sealed washer.. I can't remove the bearing. Any thoughtS?
Had to swing by here for a refresher- thank you, sir!

I've had a terrible experience with DT swiss spokes but I love the 240 hubs from a service perspective. They are so easy to keep in good condition.
Perfect! Was looking for a tutorial for this. Thanks so much! 😁
man, you are seriously committed ;-) great videos!
