I was born in 1960 and spent the first 28 years of my life in this great town. Some of these streets were on my paper route as a boy. I never would've imagined that it would come to this level of devastation. This is hurtful to see.

White guy checking in. I’ve driven lots and lots of cars w bad batteries in my life and often I’ve asked strangers for a jump and I’ve had mixed results everywhere I’ve lived *EXCEPT* living out by Stewart and DuPont in 07. My car battery died all the time but all I would have to do is go out to the end of my driveway and wave the jumper cables and 100% of the time the first (male) person who would drive by would pull over and pop the hood to give me a jump. Them people got love in their hearts and make good neighbors even if you’ve never met them before. Everyone should go buy a house on the north side of flint and build a utopia of friendly neighbors

I spent more than 35 years representing employers as their labor and employment attorney in metro-Detroit just fifty miles south of Flint, and tried several cases in Flint. For reasons probably originating in the famous sit-down strike, the citizenry of Flint are collectively the most rabidly anti-employer bunch of people one can imagine. One attorney who i tried a case against banked his first million dollars his first year out of law school by suing employers for supposed wrongful discharge. In our case, which i won on appeal, he said in final argument: Let's show this employer that's not how we do things in Flint. That pro-union anti-employer animus resulted in old businesses leaving Flint and new businesses declining to locate there. That is why you see the abject poverty and abandoned buildings in this video.

What happened here?😢 How was it before? I have always lived in TN. 65 yrs old now. We don't get Michigan news here. If you drive through my hometown, Memphis, several areas are run down like this, only smaller homes many of which look like crack houses and places where gangs live.

You don’t seem to follow. The specific purpose of this channel is to show run down urban and inner city areas. This is a niche channel. I also show Detroit probably more than anywhere, and that’s where I live. People come here to see what I show, and a lot of the areas are by request. The thumbnails, and title say exactly what the videos show, so why did you click on it? If this not for you fine, but you can’t tell other people what to show. Make a channel showing new houses in Flint or whatever you want people to see.
