I still think about it too. It is easily the best short program I have ever seen. Artistic, and technically challenging with nearly every sequence being done on one foot, every jump with her arms over her head, all at a decent speed. Actually incredible.
One of the most -if not THE most- heartbreakingly beautiful short program I’ve ever seen. Her movements literally emanate magic, the soul she put in this performance can be felt on your own skin.. Evgenia is not just an athlete, she’s an artist, she puts her whole heart in what she does, she gives her all to her skating. She might won’t be regarded as the greatest in the field due to her technique, but figure skating is also a form of expression, and on that point of view there’s no one doing it like her
Being 2 times worlds, european, GPF champion and while doing those actually being unbeaten in 2 years, dominating the sports so strongly that people start to say she has no competition!! And just in her olympic season she gets a serious injury in her landing foot, cant skate for weeks maybe months knowing her rivals never stops. Actually skating while being injured in olympics and winning Olympic Silver medal. She so mentally strong and very talented. Bravo Zhenya!!
Laura Moon Even if she was not injured, she couldn’t have beat her rival because her rival back then was just in another world. Zagitova was technically too ahead of her. Remember that Medvedeva should have gotten even less score if her flutz has been penalized, which didnt happen.

Marika fasola well i never said that. and aftet olympics she could not skate for months and because of one of those injuries she will never be able to the beilman spin so yes she was injured.

Her musicality and ability to touch people's souls with her skating are incredible. You don't think about the whole hard part of the elements, you just enjoy this piece of art. Figure skating should be only this way! Not only the hard jumps to get the points but a golden middle between technical part and artistry. Figure skating is actually a performance on ice which you realize with your technical skills. They should not step on the first place like it's happening right now. There should be a balance

@@dd7138 Evgenia is not the only one who has the problem with prerotation. Almost all the girls from top-10 at the olympics use prerotation on their jumps including Zagitova and Osmond
I dont know why but for me its so hard and emotional to watch olympics. i have tears. it was so touching moment. Evgenia was a spark of those games. She stole lot of hearts of ppl from all around the world. I pray for her. I want to watch Evgenia's new programs for many years. She is the best thing what happened in figure skating.

That's the moment I became a figure skating fan, rather than someone who just watches it every four years at the Olympics. Since then, I have seen her skate live twice and plan to see her again at Skate Canada in October, this time competing with the incomparable Yuzuru Hanyu. Thank you for sharing this incredible performance!

Her Loop is just flawless: Amazing difficult entry into the jump, it lifts effortlessly off the ice, tight air position, good running edge out of the jump with difficult exits. Literally one of the best 3Lo among current ladies.
@Tim Lin What do you mean? Her air position is tight. She kept her arms close her body. Her legs are always fully straightened and tightly crossed at the ankles within the first revolution so no leg wrap. That's literally the opposite of loose position

@@marikafasola8771 Well at least I know basic geometry unlike "someone" who couldn't tell the differences between 180 degrees (half a rotation) and 360 degrees (1 rotation). Like I said she takeoffs at 5:05 with her back facing the right side of the screen. She leaves the ice at 5:08 with her back facing the left side. At 5:09 (360 degrees) she's already high in the air.
She is pure genius. Now we have awesome youngsters like Kamila Valieva and Anna Scherbakova, but nothing close to Zhenya. She is Mozart, but she will never win against quads. This is so sad.

If Evgenia had won over Alina, you don't think there would have been a controversy like the one in Sochi 2014 Olympics , the same thing that happened with Adelina Sotnikova and Yuna Kim would have been repeated.

Как красиво! Какая магия каждого движения! Больше 20 лет не смотрела вообще фигурное катание. Около двух лет назад увидела Женю Медведеву - и была очарована. Женя - уникальна и прекрасна. Номер один!
Now everybody understands that she’s a truly number one for years. I cannot compare her with anyone else even with hard technics. Her component score should be above possible. Unbeatable.
This is my personal opinion, but she should have won the gold in Pyeongchang. She skated her heart out in Anna Karenina, and gave her soul to the ice in Nocturne. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful skaters out there. She doesn't just skate through elements-she *feels* it. She resonates with the music, and in return, makes the spectators feel something.
The problem was that she had technical issues with her lutz. I love Evgenia but her GOE for certain jumps was kinda rewarded wonkily. Some days I wish there were different medals for artistry and technical merit and an all around medal.
@@Alexis-ln9iy Alina had flat edges for 3 Lutzes but she didn't receive any edge call. Kaetlyn's flutz in the SP wasn't called. Evgenia's Flutz in the FS was ignored too. All the 3 medalists don't have textbook jump techniques (full-blade takeoff, excessive pre-rotation) but I could understand why they receive more than +2 for their jumps. Evgenia and Alina had difficult entries into almost all of their jumps, they did tano/rippon too. They also had great extensions on landing or creative exit too. Kaetlyn jumps are huge. Her flow, speed in and out of jumps are insane.
Ngoc Do Her jumps just looked muscled and awkward. They didn’t look effortless and they had difficult entry and exit but it you can’t make the jump look nice with these bulletpoints, why not ensure a beautiful jump instead. (She is working on it, so I hope we see results in the near future) Of course, that’s no longer in option because of wishy washy judging. Believe me, I know all leading ladies now (excluding probably Kihira) have meh technique but I’m saying there should be better judging to ensure good quality jumps, even if it means no difficult entry or exits.
@@Alexis-ln9iy There will be little to no improvement in ladies' techniques as long as they get rewarded for putting bad edges on the plate. On the other hand, I'm proud of Evgenia for knowing her issues with jumps (Lutz) and moving to Canada to fix it. Some skaters just let it be, because botching a jump (as long as they do not fall) rarely get called.

The one jump which was not good , was the lutz . But for winning a gold she needed only one jump in 2 part. Just because of her injury

She is pure genius. Now we have awesome youngsters like Kamila Valieva and Anna Scherbakova, but nothing close to Zhenya. She is Mozart, but she will never win against quads. This is so sad.

this program is everything. something about evgenia's skating is amazing. she has so much emotion, artistry, elegance, grace, smoothness, clarity. evgenia is an athlete, but shes also an artist cauase this program is everything. the music, the way she skates, the balance, it all comes together and gives you goosebumps. masterpiece. breathtaking. gorgeous. illuminating. she deserved gold, im not even joking

Now everybody understands that she’s a truly number one for years. I cannot compare her with anyone else even with hard technics. Her component score should be above possible. Unbeatable.

This is my personal opinion, but she should have won the gold in Pyeongchang. She skated her heart out in Anna Karenina, and gave her soul to the ice in Nocturne. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful skaters out there. She doesn't just skate through elements-she *feels* it.
She resonates with the music, and in return, makes the spectators feel something.
The problem was that she had technical issues with her lutz. I love Evgenia but her GOE for certain jumps was kinda rewarded wonkily. Some days I wish there were different medals for artistry and technical merit and an all around medal.

@@Alexis-ln9iy Alina had flat edges for 3 Lutzes but she didn't receive any edge call. Kaetlyn's flutz in the SP wasn't called. Evgenia's Flutz in the FS was ignored too.
All the 3 medalists don't have textbook jump techniques (full-blade takeoff, excessive pre-rotation) but I could understand why they receive more than +2 for their jumps. Evgenia and Alina had difficult entries into almost all of their jumps, they did tano/rippon too. They also had great extensions on landing or creative exit too. Kaetlyn jumps are huge. Her flow, speed in and out of jumps are insane.
Ngoc Do Her jumps just looked muscled and awkward. They didn’t look effortless and they had difficult entry and exit but it you can’t make the jump look nice with these bulletpoints, why not ensure a beautiful jump instead. (She is working on it, so I hope we see results in the near future) Of course, that’s no longer in option because of wishy washy judging. Believe me, I know all leading ladies now (excluding probably Kihira) have meh technique but I’m saying there should be better judging to ensure good quality jumps, even if it means no difficult entry or exits.
@@Alexis-ln9iy There will be little to no improvement in ladies' techniques as long as they get rewarded for putting bad edges on the plate.
On the other hand, I'm proud of Evgenia for knowing her issues with jumps (Lutz) and moving to Canada to fix it. Some skaters just let it be, because botching a jump (as long as they do not fall) rarely get called.

Silver sometimes shines as much as gold, this woman is amazing. No puedo entender a la gente que habla mal de ella, vamos, su ex-entrenadora solo es buena con niñas pequeñas, que hay de malo en querer evolucionar. (Y no, no estoy insultando a su ex-entrenadora).
Los haters siempre hacen eso, y minimizan a otros para tratar de hacer quedar bien al que defienden. No necesitas desmeritar a Eteri para decir que no hablen mal de Evgenia. Ella se fue mal, no lo hizo de la mejor manera, pero a la vez tiene todo su derecho de uscar nuevos rumbos. Es una excelente patinadora y estoy ansiosa de verla esta temporada.
