Yes sir. What I struggle with is that at the end of the day (after all the money you dumped into them) a 328 or a 330 are still cars below 300bhp. Darn S2000 with a tuned 2.2L beats them, and it's a 330LB lighter car to being with.

@@ianrushsmoustache2282 I'm Welsh and mine was a mk3 fiesta 1100 with 54hp, not fast in the slightest (quicker than a 1ltr corsa tho lol), i fitted an rs2000 2ltr 16v in 2010ish so its had around 160hp for the last 10yrs, and it's now half turbod so should have nearer 300 once its done. I've had it 12yrs this year, and i won't sell it

This is straight bullshit the m52tub28 made 192 hp at the crank =159 at the wheels (it made 170whp on dyno ), the m54b30 makes 229hp =192whp and it made 226whp this is a lot more than what they did stock and the whole thing that engines loose hp over time is true but we are talking really small differences unless the engine is a bad one
This swap is totally worth it! I did the same to my e46 touring. Purchased a whole donor car and sold parts off it and it was basically free to do the swap.
Some cams and ebay headers would really open that 3.0l up. You should really be carefull with limiter all day as the oil pump fails from that, shaft brakes off. I made 241 from a 2.8 with 264 cams 😁
BMW provided numbers are at the crank (like most manufacturer provided numbers). This dyno reads wheel hp, if you convert 226whp to bhp with a 15% drivetrain loss that's about 265bhp so quite a big improvement.
That thing needs to have the fuel cut limiter removed, and have an ignition cut added instead. That'll make it safer for abuse on the drift track. Also... Supercharger would be badass. Go for it, B!
NA engines around the 200-250whp and up are very underated. Especially when you compare the hp directly to a turbo or blower charged engine. The powerband from a NA is very usefull when you drifting as well. And +60whp is an awesome gain NA. Then with that torque curve to support the power is sweet. Can not stop to say how much the powerband from an engine does in the real feeling from the power when driving. But the internet world is so much about the peak hp dyno number. Personally I want to see the powerband and the comparison between the hp curves from the dyno results. And honestly a tuner can make things to the peak hp. Just so it seems like it's better than it is. Especially on turbo engines. So those that only zoom in or show peak hp numbers is for me not so interesting to see. Show all of the data from the dyno and if possible also a comparison from the first pull and also from before if you have done some changes with parts. And WOW what a difference on the looks on you Jimmy from just 2 years ago. You look way matured now. Cool to see older clips in new videos when possible. You UA-camrs has a lot of videos to take from if you have been here a couple of years. Maybe put together a video like the best moments from the start to present day. Also maybe some unseened clips or bloopers could be fun to see.
Shoving a little air in making such a difference. Car's begging for a modest, well installed supercharger.. You guys know you'll do it eventually; no disputing the swap; but it'll be even better when you do it. xD

That engine in the E46 330 (M54B30) is rated to put down 228hp stock (and the 328 and 330 is supposed to have the same gearing and final drive, unless the USA got some other funky stuff going on). Didn't he cam that? Plus a tune? It should be higher up. Still, a good gain compared to the old engine. I feel ya it was such a great feeling when I went from my 323Ci (168hp) to my 330Ci, like night and day. Smack a snail, cooperrings and ARP bolts on that sucker and you can probably squeeze 500whp on stock internals, I've seen it done before and it looks really fun
haha just what I sad below one of the first videos - M50 Intake is not makeing a huge job. When stock 328 was dynoed at wheels to 170 having 193 at the engine it means, that this setup at the engine has 246hp - about 6-8hp more, then is making mine with stock b30 intake and not zhp cams...but shotout overall ofcourse - b30 is always a blast in E46 and it will be perfect fun haver for not a lot money per event.
That's ridiculous, the m52tub28 is choked hard by its stock intake and exhaust. You can't compare to a good flowing intake, cams and cats delete. Do the same mod on the b28 and will see similar gains. They are very similar engine, the only real benefits of an m54b30 over an m52tub28 is the crankshaft/rods/piston that can take way more boost than the b28 one.
