Aw bless all the young people buried there. Died far to young. Thought the headstone with the moss growing on the head of the statue was lovely. Great video 💙
Thanks Susan, didn't realise it was so long until editing, I've really bad hayfever at the moment so finding it hard at times to get through it, hope iyou still enjoyed ❤️🇮🇪🍀
I admire you Sue for your dedication. Going through brush and embankments. Thank you for sharing theses graveyards with so much history people have gone before us. God bless you.❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
The stone of Johana Cogley is exceptionally beautiful and in great condition! The graves within the church ruins are so interesting. This cemetery is very spread out but so beautiful! Such a natural setting. By the way I found out that the Faulkner name was from the Ulster area of Ireland..
Hi Laura, I've seen this done in many church ruins and I have no explanation for it, I can just presume the graves came after the church was left abandoned and space was used inside, it was a medieval church and from what I found its dated pre 1404
So beautiful and the birds singing. So nice to see graveyard kept up well . They deserve that. Here in America the beautiful red cardinal is our sign our loved one is near. God bless the heroswho died for their country RIP. Thanx Sue such a lovely video. I so enjoyed it so much❤😊❤😊
Beautiful video of the woodland and stream that surround Carig cemetery. Most of the adult graves I've noticed in your video's around the 1800's both male and female lived to a good age. The babies burial site is maintained beautifully. The history is so interesting, thank you so much for filming this as it must be difficult having allergies to grass 💕🇦🇺
I love summer but the allergies are a real pain but it won't stop me just I'll sounds hoarse and the breathing heavier, I will visit newer cemeteries too but my love is the old as they need remembering, I'm always amazed by the ages they lived to, considering life was much tougher for them ❤️❤️ thanks for watching liz
Thank you for the beautiful adventure today. There has been some quite early graves in this churchyard..When you look ar some of those tall headstones ,and how thin they are it’s amazing a lot of them are still standing..It’s nice to see someone still takes care of the place too.The walk up to the river is very pretty .Some of those large boulders in there could certainly tell a Story I bet they have been there longer than the churchyard..There is Gorgeous countryside by you.I always wanted to come over to Ireland. My family has roots from there. But life gets in the way as it does.Thank you for your time Sue ..Love n Light 🥰
Your cemeteries/churchyards are different but very beautiful. May if you will ask two questions. First, the stone. Faded and worn. No marble or granite or too costly? Second, I see people have come to pay their respects with flowers and the such. So I know people do come there. Is anyone (church, municipality, family) responsible for upkeep? I don't want to harp and won't ask again. However it looks like people are buried and forgotten about. Or, is the straw look what a cemetery looks like there? I am from a different culture, so don't be offended by a silly question. This is so fascinating. Thank you!
Hi Lee, I love answering questions and I'll answer the best to my knowledge, if you watch my video on crosstown cemetery, you will see a mixture of old and new in the one, the newer graves are marble with some really extraordinary graves, full with marble plagues, dogs, teddies etc, this graveyard has just been cleared and someone strimmed it, maybe even used weedkiller, that or the grass has browned from the heat we had last week, giving the straw look, Ireland have some very only graveyards and cemeteries and some I've found from the 1700s. So they probably have no family left or maybe families that don't know they are theirs my thinking is when I visit we say their names and so they are gone but not forgotten, I hope I've answered you correctly, Carrig Graveyard has just been taken over by a historical society and they will now maintain the ground. Thanks ❤️🍀🇮🇪
Beautiful cemetery! All the old stones and I can see why the fairies would be there. They need to clean it up a bit. Please be safe out there. Thanks for sharing.
Ireland has lots of old stories and folklore, lots about fairies and giants etc there used to be a huge tree all alone in the middle of an emptyfield close by to carrig Graveyard, as a child I was told it was a fairy tree and anyone who tried cut it down would get bad luck, couldn't find it the other day but I remember. ❤️🍀🇮🇪
I often visited as a child, probably intrigued of the stories of a fairy tree and fairy rings but the history of this church and graveyard means more to me now
What a BEAUTIFUL cemetery!! I can actually picture fairies living in the trees, and watching over the graves and all who are buried there!! Take care, and stay safe everyone!! XXXX
Many happy times as children we spent playing in the woods of Carrig but always respectful of the history and the serenity of the graveyard, happy carefree days of our youth wonderful memories thank you.

Ahh I know it is very emotional seeing babies and children buried at any time, bless them, I love that statue, poked like he had a hair of moss ❤️
Nice explanations provided, like the stone markers for the poor. So sad.
Very very sad Ron but at least we remember them ❤️🍀🇮🇪
Glad to see you here..
That was absolutely beautiful and peaceful place. Thank You

Seeing the stream there , reminds me of fishing near the Wooden bridge in the river Avoca. Near Arklow.
Ahh avoca, the meeting of the waters and Glendalough, some of my favourite spots 🍀❤️
Enjoying all your so very caring and wonderful tours, you bring all of us back to our frist home of long long ago.
Thanks Annette
