Secret of Mana is one of my favorite titles from the SNES era and features one of the most diverse soundtracks ever made, IMHO. Hiroki Kikuta mixed classic romantic orchestral music, folk (such as this track), jazz, Japanese and even Balinese music (the intense Gamelan music for the Dark Lich boss fight). I can also hear a bit of Ravel in 'What the Forest Taught Me' (check out 'Laideronnette, Empress of the Pagodas').

Okay, I read you do orchestration of VGM... BUT LIKE THIS??? Man, is there any limits to your power? It's really cool, how you can capture the whatever feeling the song is about: rather it's a teen rebellion, or returning home, or traveling, or the great Prophecy about heroes (that's what the title is about, I don't know the context of the situation this song plays). Really awesome

Thanks mate! This track plays when you’re flying towards the floating mana fortress for the final part of the game (IIRC). The skies have turned dark and you can sense that things are getting serious. The music is such a big part of this game. I found an interview where Hiroki Kikuta talks about his influences being all kinds of music playing on the radio when he was growing up, that he doesn’t really think about genres, and I can really identify with that.

@@Naslund_MusicMeridian Child, the opening theme from SD3 has been my favourite video game tune for almost three decades. That game is easily on par with SoM for music.
