This round was thirty 5 gallon pails about half full, so about a half yard of material give or take. That generally takes us 2-4 hours at a firm but semi leisurely pace (it is vacation after all) depending on how much rock clearing is necessary and how far material has to be carried to the sluice. Two strong motivated men could probably do the same work in an hour or so but it is physically taxing and best spread out. You can just imagine if the pails were filled with pre piled loose sand, how long would it take a hard worker to fill 15 pails? Probably less than 10 minutes. We once got the better part of an ounce in a day but that was clawing and picking the ground for every teaspoon of material so it cost a lot more time and calories to mine. There is a lot of low grade areas that could be hand mined for $5-$30/hr but it seems many would rather chase nuggets for less than $1/hr. It is hard work though. Here's an example video: ua-cam.com/video/vzmM0UaT27g/v-deo.html Good luck.

I have 4 sluice fox sluices that's makes A 8 foot sluice box I took out the ripples And the miners moss and replaced them With v matting which makes it great for Fine gold so now I have 8' of v matting
That probably works okay with classified and small size material or for cleanups but on all our production units the V mat is mainly an indicator because it doesn't hold on to gold as well as the deeper more specialized riffles. Usually we have less than .1% in the 1 foot V mat, 99%+ in the VDR and then less than 1 percent in the follow on mats and almost zero in the tailings. The V mat's gold blows through into other cells. If it was like 10% or something in the first V mat instead of less than .1% I'd be more open to considering this layout. I suspect a pure V mat sluice would still have significant fine gold losses compared to 1 foot of V mat and 3 feet of VDR, despite it being twice as long. The really tight V mat like on the mini sluice is really good for fine gold but that same highly efficient cleanup sluice would not do well in most production scenarios with lots of flow and larger material. Maybe you could alternate fine V mat and coarse for more recovery. I hope it works out for you.

Man I wish I was there with you my new Classifier works great. Just fill my bucket up with water with my classifier In the bucket and wash my materials Off into the bucket
You should make a video and upload it to UA-cam. Everyone sharing is part of what makes this gold rush special. Our highbankers don't require any classification so that is a big efficiency gain. Sometimes due to large rock ratios it is more efficient to classify.
In this area it would probably take 500-1200 pans per ounce depending on the zone and grades. Luckily we have a highbanker so shovelling and bucketing material into it is way more efficient than panning. To get an ounce of the medium grade it actually takes around a few tonnes which is actually a very high gram per tonne average for the mining industry. If we had a field of it we'd be rich.
All of the new footage and most of the more recent footage is shot with tripods and cameras with stabilizers. When I first started it was just my old cell phone. Thanks for the feedback!
A lot of the early footage lacks stabilizers and tripod mounts but all the new stuff should be of a progressively higher quality as our gear and skills improve. Thanks for the feedback, Wayne. Hopefully you didn't get too dizzy!
I'll go help you out take LIKE 90% gold i earn and I take all your magnetite so I can make a swords for us XD take this offer up and you will be surprised! KINDA serious cause I legit have nothing better to do and always wanted to start black smithing AND DONT WANT GOLD other then decorative to swords.
That's an interesting idea. We have several pails of magnetite kicking around. Many of the places around BC also have big banks of black sand that is a high % of magnetite and hematite. Making a bloomery and smelting it would be a bit challenging but is totally possible. It would be really cool to find, harvest, and create all of the materials yourself and then build some useful tools.
@@InfinityProspecting well if you sift all the gold out ill be more then happy to take all that magnetite off your hands. I been looking at claims and looking around vancouver area just so I can pan for it and gold. But its a learning process and I need to go out and look for them. Any advise in that department?
@@e_pffne4190 There are public panning areas scattered around BC. There is one on Kennedy River on the island and a bunch going up into the Fraser valley. You can definitely get enough black sand to smelt a whole suit of armor for free if you wanted. Since you live in BC it is a simple matter to sign up for a bceid and get a free miner's certificate. Once you can log into mineral titles online it is easy to get your own gold claim. I have a video called connect the golden dots about how to find high quality gold claims for about $2/ acre. Check MTO (mineral titles online) and see which areas are open or you can find the owners to ask for permission. There is lots of ground north and east of Vancouver that is free to prospect or claim. I don't think you are allowed to pan in Vancouver proper but if you got permission from any private property owners I doubt anyone would care. Getting a good claim generally requires a bit of research and legwork but it is totally worth it especially if you are nearby. Good luck.
@@InfinityProspecting thank you for taking the time to reply. All great advise I will go watch that video right now. Your awesome thanks for letting me know.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I subscribed to you a while back, always looking for cool prospecting channels especially if they are in the same general area. Plenty to discover and lots to learn and share!
Man I wish I was there with you my new
Classifier works great. Just fill my bucket up with water with my classifier
In the bucket and wash my materials
Off into the bucket
You should make a video and upload it to UA-cam. Everyone sharing is part of what makes this gold rush special. Our highbankers don't require any classification so that is a big efficiency gain. Sometimes due to large rock ratios it is more efficient to classify.
Those tiny dots add up 8 thousand pans to the oz 😂
In this area it would probably take 500-1200 pans per ounce depending on the zone and grades. Luckily we have a highbanker so shovelling and bucketing material into it is way more efficient than panning. To get an ounce of the medium grade it actually takes around a few tonnes which is actually a very high gram per tonne average for the mining industry. If we had a field of it we'd be rich.
I just added a new flair to my sluice box
And bot a lithium battery to run my 1100
Gph pump to run my material through with
Its deep
A fellow gold miner near my family's claim :D sub from me
Thanks Vokun! Much appreciated. There is so much flour gold in BC people will be mining it for generations!
I love to sluicefox with no ripples or minors.moss and just 8 foot of v matting
please use some gold to buy a camera with a stabilizer. Rough
All of the new footage and most of the more recent footage is shot with tripods and cameras with stabilizers. When I first started it was just my old cell phone. Thanks for the feedback!
For chrissakes get a new cameraman
@@e_pffne4190 You're welcome. I hope it helped. Good luck, Rec Favio.
