I’m a west coast beach girl with slightly shorter but very similar hair. I would go gently on the highlights because the dark will fade soon and summer is around the corner and will lighten (and damage) hair naturally. You look beautiful no matter what, go easy on yourself. ❤

I am a hair stylist and I like the darker root look in hair, my favorite.. Only thing I would change is the roots of your money pieces need to be lighter. But, I imagine you were trying to avoid the bleach. The dark will lighten so enjoy it and you may even want to keep it with a bit of tweeking :) XOXO

A clarifying shampoo would most likely strip the dark shade after a few shampoos. I would try that before lifting it more. (I'm a stylist in the UK)

Hi Lisa ! So I agree with the lady who said the issue is with the blonde streak in the front needing to be lighter . I think the whole thing will fade A LOT anyway . If it were me I would lighten that front piece only . I think it is a bit too golden looking? Whatever it will work out fine once it fades ❤
Don’t worry your hair color is pretty. As a light blonde myself I know that sometimes we start looking washed out and want added dimension with low lights. I go through this ALL THE TIME. Then I feel like it’s too dark. I feel your pain. We’re all our own worst critic! You’re still beautiful!
Lisa - I LOVE YOUR HAIR! It looks so sophisticated, smart, chic - My only comment mirrors what I am hearing others say, and that is the very front money piece roots are not toned correctly to match the coolness of the rest of your hair. I see some yellow/brassy tones but that's the only thing I would change. You are still very much a blonde!! There is no questioning that, and these new ashy tones are looking pretty fab on you. Much younger!

Lisa after a few washes the brown is gong to fad and the blond will come back through. Don’t rush and do anything it will be fine.
Hi Lisa, I’m a colorist here in lA. Most of my clients are blonde. First let me say your gorgeous regardless of what color or shade your hair is. I rarely do low lights on my clients because they fade so fast and this is the reason why, whenever your hair has been pre lighten (bleached) it will fade very quickly so you have to go a bit darker which may not be the desired look that a client wanted, but it will get lighter I promise. Your stylist will probably start the corrective color process with minimal damage and soon you will have your beautiful locks just the way you want. Here’s a few of my favorite products to strengthen and add lots of shine. First L’Oréal Absolute Repair Molecular system. Best to use all four of these products together. It’s a bonding system from their high end professional line( your stylist may have to buy them for you) Second is the Acidic Color Gloss from Redken. I think you have the shampoo and conditioner, you need the gloss which you leave on for 10 mins, you apply the conditioner over it for another two mins then rinse out and your going to follow up the gloss heat protector ( we’re always sold out of that on as it’s really good) wishing you all the best on your hair journey, Baron❤️😊

My low lights always wash out, try the purple,blue shampoos it may brighten it all up, that has helped me when I’ve gone too dark.

Yeah I was thinking the purple might help too. I do like it though, considering it is still Winter, I think you picked a good time to go darker. That way as spring comes you can add in the lighter color.

I think the dark root looks even better! The roots of the money piece just need to be toned a little more but I am LOVING the darker hair on you. I think a little darker brows would help bring it all together too! ❤❤❤
The dark will fade very quickly… just leave it and be patient…. Don’t bleach over. I love it… it looks great. Yes the hotel shampoo took it out. You have to be patient… honestly it looks very blonde with some nice depth. It look way healthier.

Lisa, it WILL FADE. Trust me. Darker colors are deposited on the hair shaft, while lighter colors require the original color to be chemically lifted (bleaching process). I think its our nature to keep keep pushing the envelope with something we like until we cross "that " boundary to where we dont like the effect. It's part of intelligent design, actually! You drive a car that required much pushing of the envelope in order to create the version you choose to drive.

Hi Lisa! I noticed that the root portion of your money piece doesn’t match the rest of it, it almost is giving “hot roots” I think the only way to fix this is with bleach but she could probably use a low volume like 15 and a bleach with a bonder in it to prevent some damage

Lisa I understand the desire to change up your hair now and then. I have red hair and boy is it high maintenance. Now I have a better appreciation for what blonds go though when things don't go as planned. It happens, so please don't fret over it. We didn’t notice your hair being darker. We thought it was just the room lighting. Don’t fret, it will lighten in a month or so and it will be back to ready then for a touch up and it will be healthy for that. ❤ it actually looks really nice and the darker is trending at the moment. The L’Oreal Universal shades are darker and that’s what they want for the moment. You’re fine!

I like it! I started letting my natural dark blonde grow out and it works so much better with my skin tone. I did have to tweak it to get it the way I liked it. I described it as a I wanted to look like the little girls at the beach where the sun naturally lightens the hair.
You had me giggling at the Siamese instead of tortoiseshell 😂 shout out to our hair dressers who are so patient with our descriptions but also know what we mean. I literally do this with mine too 😂 I laugh when I see the laughter in her eyes at my unique requests ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😅💕

Oh Lisa, I love how your hair looks! The front (money) pieces will be lighter soon with fading. If the sun is out where you are - the natural fading will be quicker. TRY ( I know it's hard) to wait just a little longer to see the hair you will LOVE.
Lisa so sorry you don't like your hair, I hear you. I'm interested to know what your natural colour is? It seems like your hair might, like mine, get lightened by the sun naturally. My hair is always three tones, medium brown under, light brown middle and blond/gray that goes platinum in the summer which really hides the gray. I use Clairol Natural Instincts light blond to blend/balance it out about once every 2.5 - 3 months this is temporary colour but it last for me as I only shampoo 2xWeek, rinse and condition in between. I also use Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment on my wet hair which really help with the dryness and makes it feel really soft. It looks like your hair could use a break and deep conditioning. I'm not sure what you had done but everyone seems to think it will fade. The temporary colour does and that's why I like it because you don't get the root line, less maintenance. I was wondering if you darkened your brows a shade or two might help. I wish you good luck! The light is returning and the sun is on it's way to help you get your blond locks back. I prefer your hair lighter but you would be beautiful with a paper bag on your head.
You mentioned 9NN. NN is a double neutral pigment used to cover gray hair. It should not be pulled through the hair because it can make it look drab. Behind your hairline looks like a level 7 to me, I cannot imagine that is a 9. I think the biggest issue is the warm hot root in your hairline (money piece) I would cover/neutralize the brassy tone with an 8NA, let that process, wash out, dry, then highlight around the face.
The rest will fade due to the porosity of your hair, but if you ever want dark blonde lowlights just put a protein filler in your hair first. Color needs something to stick to.
Tomato juice does a good job of stripping out color… just say in’.
Amazing I mentioned my daughter is a colorist to the stars in one of my comment’s and she is my hairdresser. I guess she saw this video too as she is a Lisa fan. Funny to see her in the comments . But she does know what she’s talking about.

I totally get the hair situation! Been there’ I think you would like it more if you front was lighter. And yes the darker color will fade. But I’d go back and just have her add bright money pieces all through the front and some baby lights toward the back.

Lisa, I have been on that same struggle bus many times, but you’re right when you said it’s a good base for Morgan and it will fade. Never quick enough, but it always does.
There is a white powder by Bodify that you can use to add some temporary light streaks in your hair until the dark parts of your hair lighten.

Hair dilemmas bring me down too. I have been doing the same thing….chasing a style I think I like but one I know my hair won’t do. I have a lot of hair and the weight of it dictates my style. I finally realized I was chasing a look when I know what style my hair defaults to and responds to best. I’m getting back there slowly by surely. You will too. Consider it a lesson learned. In all honestly Lisa, i think the tone really suits your skin and makeup tones, i just feel like you need to lighten your roots a bit - still cool toned but i love it! I know what you mean though if you don't like your hair it is big, but you never know you may love it once it fades slightly. Lots of love xx

I’m a bright blonde and I get it. I’ve done this too. I’ve actually flipped out and washed my hair with Ajax 😑 to remove the dark color.

I’m not happy today either and I don’t think I’m overreacting. I got acrylic nails, the first time in a year, for my birthday tomorrow, and they didn’t push back my cuticles or anything so it looks like my nails are growing out already. A few were crooked and some are all lumpy. They can’t fix it until Monday. Who wants to sit sit in that chair another hour! we are entitled to not feel like we’re overreacting when we pay for something that’s not done correctly or to our liking. OK my rant over with, going to enjoy my weekend.

Balayage is a paint on color technique. It's not limited to lighter blonde colors. I feel your pain. I've been growing out my undercut nape hair and during my last haircut my stylist decided it was time to even it all up. I stayed cheerful and polite, but I felt like I was in a different body on a different planet as I was leaving = shock. "It will grow" is my mantra. Hang in there !
I feel you. I recently got some fresh highlights and my hairdresser used a different product. It fried my hair. I had worked so long to get it healthy and was loving my natural curls, used little heat and just babied it. Now it wasn’t my hairdressers fault. This was a new developer that was supposed to be better for the hair. Ever since I have felt like a dog with a bad haircut who hides under the couch. I keep telling myself it will grow and be healthy in 6 months. And like you I am ashamed I care that much about my hair! This too shall pass and you still love beautiful so keep smiling!

I can totally relate to your hair struggle I’m having one now myself! I was a blonde for over 35 years and I loved it, switched salons and got my hair fried off had yo cut it into a pixie! My hair has recovered and is long but I’m now a brunette( my natural color) I’ll be 53 in march and I’m hating everything including my hair color I guess I’m in a funk! Your hair always looks gorgeous you definitely inspire me I look forward yo your videos they give me insensitive yo put a pep in my step again! Give it a couple weeks and add some highlights back either way you look beautiful!!
Every woman has had this happen. I've had it dozens of times sadly! The biggest thing I keep doing over the past few years is cut my hair too short. I'm nearly in my 70s (gah!!) and at times think I'm of the age where longer hair isn't right. then I cut it and hate it! Looks so "mumsey" if that makes sense. The advice you are getting is so good! The dark will lighten. Guaranteed. My personal opinion is the money pieces are too warm. It could be lighting? You are gorgeous and it will work out with the natural lightening that happens with color. ❤

I too am a stylist - I agree with the comments that recommend “roots in $ piece” need a slight correction. They appear warm on my screen…..however lighting as we all know is the crucial variable. Regarding LL shampoo,then Sleep in a deep conditioner over night. Rinse or shampoo out the next morning. This can sometimes bring out some of the color molecule and really brighten your color! No More lightner except on the $ piece root! 10Vol Low and Slow ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️Love you !

This is exactly why I started wearing wigs. I get the color I like and don’t have to worry about destroying my hair because it is so thin and fine that it can’t take all of the treating. Added bonus: I don’t have to wash and style all the time. Saves me so much time. But, the color looks great to me. I know it is disappointing, but hair change feels so drastic and personal.
Well, for all it’s worth, I think your hair looks gorgeous. The good news is…..is that it is just hair color and it can be changed. At my age I’ve had my hair every color imaginable and whenever something happens that I don’t like with it I just say well, let’s see what shade of lipstick looks good with this! lol! Oh, Lisa, I relate so much with what you’re feeling about your hair… I feel like that about the rapid changes in my skin and musculature after the pandemic resulted in going suddenly off of HRT. I don’t like how I look, or feel, or the energy loss… body shape changes are shocking. I’m really in mourning for the former me. and I tell myself it shouldn’t matter, I’m still the same ‘me’, etc. I don’t believe appearance is everything, but it’s a terrible struggle. So sad… I’m now 9 months into carnivore following a year of clean keto, so I guess I look better than I would have had I been eating high carbs & processed food.
Point is, I think I understand how you feel about your hair being not “you.” Identity has been rocked.

I think your hair looks fine now and it will probably fade a lighter shade and will be ok in a few weeks. I like it better than when you had that very light color around the front!! I do think In the Frow looks so much better with hers darker!

I understand how you feel about your hair, but it is actually very flattering. I do love your hair lighter also. That is what I always wanted but could never get out of my hair. So why did I always want something I could not have? So I am darker now, I don't like it yet but I don't hate it so much anymore. I am trying.

There is that time in January or February that something bothers us about ourselves. The hair the foundation the wrinkles the clothing in our closet. In those months we are the palest and driest cold months and always (at least that's how I feel ) we want to change something about . And then the spring comes and we look great again. Just hang in there you look great I liked your butterfly cut.
I think once the dark lightens slightly like it will in the summer naturally it is going to be much more flattering on you. I honestly think that super light is not that flattering as we mature (I was thinking I didn't like Jennifer Aniston recently much blonder look). Darker with a few much brighter lights is so much sexier and classier imho. You look great Lisa.
Hi Lisa, change is good. I am also hair stylist, went to school in Beverly Hills. You are disapointed but if I may advise you don't do too much chemical process at this point once the hair loses its prosity it becomes lifless., just give your hair a brake and lots of love and you will get back to where you wanted,. Hi Lisa, Laura Geller has beautiful baked Italian marble blushes you would probably love either "Starfish Island" or "Pink Grapefruit" they both have the bronze in them with a little pink. Try some purple shampoo on the root of the money pieces to remove the orangy brassy tone. The rest looks great, but I know how it feels when you aren't happy with your hair!! When it happens to me, it seems like my hair is all I can think about!!! You are gorgeous no matter what, and the dark will fade fast. Love and hugs, sweet lady! ❤🩷
Lisa I love the dark at the back, maybe if it was broken with some highlights then you would prefer it. I have gone through exactly the same thing as you, I am glad I am not the only one so fussy when it comes to hair. Mine was an issue with breaking the blonde as was getting too block, it was either too dark or too light, then recently the toner is the issue, too ash and cool. Finally I have got there but I am dreading going to my next appointment 🙈. And don’t get me started on my grey hairs 😩 xxx
Lisa, you look lovely as always, but I understand how you feel when you don't like your hair. I am not a shallow person, but when my hair is off, everything is off. Not sure why it's so important, it just is....I would do my best to just let that fade out though, instead of color correcting right away. I am on my 50's too, and our hair is more fragile, so opt for its health over its color. Thanks for showing that vulnerable side that makes us love you. ❤
I think the darker color goes well with your skin tone. Maybe blend the lighter color in the front back a bit more. That is how I get my blonde done. However my natural color is the darker color in my hair to limit damage.

Don't beat yourself up too much Lisa - give yourself a week of shampooing and all will be much closer to where you were color-wise - I did the very same thing recently and it's the worse, especially when our partner's hate it too. I was in Europe and asked for caramel low lights (so dumb as to a colorist that's very brown) and it was a disaster so take heart it won't be as far a road back as you think. ♥

Ever since I went lighter with my hair, it’s fried. If you find a combination of hair treatments or products you put on your hair damp or dry to make it look less fried. Please do a video on that. I’m thinking about going without highlights for awhile to get it healthier, but…..I love my high lights. Argh. I feel your hair struggle.
Lisa you are beautiful inside and out . I’ve been down your road with hair before and it’s hard. I’m a hair stylist and I still have a very particular blonde tone I like on me and when I try anything else I regret it. When I think of you i see your skin just glows when you are your usual tone blonde . You will be back but until try to do things to keep your mind off your hair or u will cry every day!
Blonde girl here as well. I completely understand your struggle! My suggestion would be to ask Morgan to make the transition between the money piece and the rest of your hair more blended. Add a few highlights to give that balayage look and connect the money piece with the rest. And add a root tap to the money piece because it looks really light at the root. As everyone said, the dark will wash out and your hair will be more blended and lighter. Hang in there - you look beautiful no matter what! 💕
