It's too bad you can't add a photo. I made them but based on a few commemts I altered a few things. I used the swerve brown sugar in the batter. 2 tablespoons. I didnt have sourcream so used cream cheese. On the top of each biscuit I added the swerve brown sugar (about a teaspoon spread between the 6 muffins) and then the cold butter. The top came out with hardened sugar butter coating which is delicious. Side note is that I don't do well with corn and have really missed corn bread. I dont know why but they came out like corn bread. I filled 6 paper muffin holders so they were high rather than wide. All and all very nice flavor and did make me feel like I was eating somewhere between a biscuit and a muffin.

"Dad", with his dad nod convinced me to try this recipe, so as soon as I get to the store to get some more heavy cream, I'll try it. I have used lupin flour for other simple doughs, but have been looking for a biscuit recipe. I experimented with what I had tonight before I found your recipe and made a truly hideous concoction. Texture was perfect biscuit texture, but the flavor came out very bitter! I can see that the cream, eggs, and sour cream in this recipe would likely counter that bitterness. Will be trying it your way soon! Thanks!

In the video, she mentioned she baked the biscuits for about 12 minutes at 400 or so degrees...so, I recalculated that to work around my oven which gets very, very hot at less temperature. So, I baked my bread at 345 degrees for about 18-25 minutes and started to check on it after 18 minutes; when I saw it brown on top I put a butter knife through it to see if it baked throughout.
So, it depends on how hot your oven/convection oven gets and the pan you use. I used a stainless steel mini square bread baking pan, I got off Amazon. Hope that helped.

I've been using Lupina for several years. Love it, but there aren't very many recipes out there.
There are some brands of Lupin that are bitter. Check the label, make sure it's made from sweet white lupin. Lupina is never bitter.
I use it to make oven fried chicken. Dredge the chicken in Lupina, with whatever seasonings you like, place in a lightly oiled baking dish. Bake at 350°f about an hour. Take it out, turn the pieces, bake another 30-45 minutes. It tastes just like it would if you used wheat flour.
You can pan fry with it, too, I just like to use the oven so I don't have to stand over it.

Lupine is wildly use a cooked snack in Egypt, we refer to it as ترمس
It's close to horse beans or fava beans family
Yet this is the first time I see Lupin flour. Thanks for the info

I 've used lupin in chaffle recipes -less carbs !

Just got a bag but then watched two different people say how bitter it can be and to replace only 20% from almond flour. How did you find it? I was hoping to use it straight to cut carbs as well.

    • @murchai1853
      @murchai1853 4 роки тому

@@lindawalsh2464 I add lemon pepper seasoning to off set the bitter taste of lupin flour. I don't add almond or coconut to off-set the bitter taste. Also, to make a sweeter chaffle, add sweetner (low carb) of your choice .

Omg! My gpa, right from Italy used to pop these all the time. If you’re cooking from fresh, they take days & days before you can eat them! Thanks Jess

I've tried lupine flour, it's a very dense flour but very delicious. It takes some getting used to, kinda like coconut flour. I can't wait for lupine flour recipes.

New to your channel but have subscribed, I enjoy your style of presenting.
A lot of ingredients, allulose, for example, are hard to source in the UK but I’ve just managed to order lupin flour (from Germany of all places!) and am excited to try these!

Hey Mz. Jess, glad to see you and your family all together during this scary time. I think I’m going to adopt your mom. She reminds me so much of my mom before she passed away 5 years ago. She taught me everything I know about cooking and I was always the sous chef whether in my kitchen or hers. So tell your mom she has a daughter from another mother in NJ.
Can’t wait to try the Lupin flour. I’ve been watching Vernaz Mittal use it for awhile but just needed a little extra push. Thanks for bringing us great content. Big xx’s 💞, Robbin.

Australia grows a lot of lupin and I've been using the "Crumb" version of it, as funnily enough I couldn't get the fine ground flour version of it locally, as it was all sold out. So I've crumbed everything I have in the kitchen lol
