- Today we are going over the Mondo classic variant SCAREGLOW soft vinyl figure!  let’s see how the shapes up next to the other ones and if it can achieve greatness in this misunderstood space that is “High end soft vinyl.”

The secondary market clearly says they are not worth what Mondo is asking for them. They look cool, but there’s not a lot to them, and they take up too much real estate
I would be willing to bet that if Mondo released eight more versions of Scare Glow, MHR would buy them all

Mostly…NO…it’s dirt cheap for them to make as injected molded soft plastic and they are praying on people’s wallets of nostalgia. I get licensing fees but since Funko has taken over Mondo..their prices have become inflated. It’s not worth it..let the suckers buy them
Krang is for sure the better one. More effort and a cool style. Still not 250$ that’s insane

The Krang does not look bad compared to Scareglow. I think its just your nostalgia and love for Scareglow. I debated getting the Juggernaut for the same reason. I always loved that character but I've never had a vinyl and didn't know how I would feel about it. It's the kind of thing I'd have to see at a toyshow or comic con to get a feel before dropping +$200.
To me, the Krang looks more unique and high end like a designer figure, and the SG looks like a cheap toy that should be $50!
The Krang is also much more detailed, the chew toy does suck though!
The price points are crazy, but all the Mondo figures are overpriced, most of my X-men figures from them have terrible paint flaws, fortunately they do replace them, but unfortunately the replacements aren’t much better!
I had the original one but I sold it the second the Cherry Blossom one became available. Just don't have the space for more than one of these massive glow boys, however after the release of this last one, I might make the god damn space.
Sofubi is expensive, but i think the question of their worth is a very personal one. Can you afford it? But most importantly, does it bring you happiness? I think that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

XPLUS sofubi are wonderful and recommended for 200$ and up are always very expensive years later. Godzilla model kits are unbelievably expensive
I actually ended up buying all Mondo TMNT except for Gecko!!! I hated them for weeks and slowly got the urge to buy them. Crazy...

The Krang is cool but i think you paid way to much for him. He's probably worth like 50 bucks at the most.
I think Krang is more like a piece of art that I think looks great.

Honestly, no, I really dont think it is. And as a Canadian, i can't justify over 300$ for what they are.

If you buy and the value stays the same or increases, then yes it's worth it. If the value drops significantly after, then no it isn't worth it. No opinions, just supply and demand.

Mondo has been sucking me into the soft vinyl world lately too... First ScareGlow, then the entire TMNT set including Mondo Gecko and Ray Filet. There's absolutely no doubt they are over priced for what they are - barely any articulation, barely any paint, a simple piece of molded vinyl... But they really pop on a shelf, and my nostalgia for TMNT and MOTU will probably keep me going down these roads, despite the stupid high price tags.

I'm glad you touched on this, because I've often wondered about soft vinyl figures as well, as I don't have too much experience with them.
I almost bought Mondo's soft vinyl TMNT figures that are up on their site, but I don't want want to pay all of that money only to be disappointed by them.
And yes, Popeye's is AMAZING. Especially those new wings!
Godzilla sofubi especially the designer ones hold their value and most often increase in value. Also be prepared to spend upwards of 1000$ on the sought after designs.There is a crossover between cookie monster and shin godzilla. Sadly the creator died and his 100$ pieces are soon to be worth thousands.
I own the transparent one, i was content with just that one but after seeing your review i caved in and knew i had to own this one because of its glow and truer representation of the vintage figure, ill recover with time, this work of art will look great in my collection.

No, its not even close. I find more value in a highly detailed Mcfarlane figure than any vinyl crap that has came out from Funko. Everytime I have held a modern Spawn figure I am just blown away and happy to be collecting something that usually goes on discount. When we start excusing high prices on things like toys/collectibles, things like that giant Krang are sold. (I know its comparing an action figure to Vinyl, but the price rangers are very similar, so at that point it makes sense to go tit for tat)

I personally can't get onboard with the prices, but it does look nice as hell! I love Scareglow too, so the decision making process I get. Lol But hey... if it makes you happy, then who else is to say?
