This is so helpful i did journey last week i didnt see appear online account so i paid as one of payment and i made journey again today again panicking incase i end up getting fine not paying it on time so lets see i wait another 2 day and see if it appear on my account . Thanks for that
@@nigat8022 Thanks for the kind comment @nigat8022 I felt the same way. You'd think with an online account the system would be able to show you before the 3 days is up! Glad this video might help and thanks again for taking the time to comment.
Thanks very much for this video, as I have just registered for Autopay. I live just a mile inside outer London and will be taking my 27 year old classic car outside London to be serviced. Now I know that I would have to wait 3 days for the charge to show up!
Thanks for taking the time to leave this kind message, I appreciate it. That's so frustrating - I didn't know it hit Classic Cars too. Good luck with the service!
@@DADDELIVERS Thanks for your reply. The ULEZ applies to classic cars under 40 years old. The ULEZ was imposed last year in outer London despite 90% of businesses and 80% of outer London residents not wanting it. The air quality is very good in the suburbs, and this is simply highway robbery, and that too aimed generally at the people who are too poor to afford newer cars. Needless to say, it has made no difference to the air quality and I hope for the day when this unjust tax is removed, so that we can once more breathe in freedom.
Another interesting thing about ULEZ payment App. No matter if you enter your REG and it is compliant or not even been near the zone that day. It will still take you to the payment page. Bit of a con for those that are not sure if they need to pay or not.
So the website "Check you vehicle" is telling me my car is complaint and i don't need to pay ULEZ so that mean i am safe ? no need to pay even it take me to payment page?
Thanks for the Video as it explains a few things tfl couldn't be bothered to. Like if you have autopay and pay manually you won't be double charged or that you need check your account on the 3rd day if you use autopay.
funny how dart charge works the opposite way... you can pay double for the same car... but it shows up instantly on your account... that ulez sign was hidden behind a tree... the ones around us, and the previous ones around the circular were marked clearly as "if you turn into this road, youre on ulez land"
They still don't tell you that a charge is required or when though. In Birmingham the Clean Air Zones signs are big and give you relevant info and you get to pay in 6 days or so. Not sure why London cannot be same...hoping you'll forget? Anyway the AutoPay is your insurance I guess.
I live outside London. But set up autopay just in case i wonder into the zones. This gives the added benefit, that even though i might go into the zones. I might not have to pay if the camera is out of order that i pass. however if i was pay as i went into London ,I would not be sure i have entered a zone .Because i would not know if a camera is working and i would not risk a fine and would pay anyway. I would charge the customer anyway,. So sometimes i am ahead. Well once i have cleared a fine for an expired payment card. So yes set up auto pay , it's free. They will remind you your card is about to expire. So don't forget to renew the a card. Also the funny thing is, They send a paper invoice each month even if you have not been to London in for that bill date. Bit of a waste of paper. Ultimately from a tree that , cleans our air. lol
Check it online. If it's a FULLY electric car then no for the low emission zone and ultra low zone because they don't produce any emissions. Pretty sure the congestion charge still applies to electric cars as electric cars can still cause congestion, but the CC is only in a very small part of London north of the river. I've driven through London a lot including through Picadilly circus late at night and never had to pay the congestion charge. The CC also only operates between certain hours of the day.
@@arunjayan5765 No. Congestion charge ONLY covers a tiny part of London near Victoria. ULEZ will apply however so make sure your car complies otherwise it will cost you, believe it's £12.50 per day. If you have a fully electric vehicle NEITHER of these above will apply and there's no charge at all since electric vehicles produce no emissions.
So 15 quid congestion charge+ if you have an older car 12.50 - so 27.50 for the day even without fines. Thats friggin insane. Im in Hong Kong and I moan about the 3 quid it costs for our cross harbour tunnels - I feel a, lot better now 😂
If you call that sign at 5:52 a "tiny sign" then I think you are blind and shouldn't be driving on a road. Most people can easily spot the tiny circular signs that tell them the speed limit, but when it's a big square sign 10x larger that says they need to pay for something or to check whether they need to pay somehow they conveniently "don't see it". Too many dimwitted drivers on the road nowadays not paying any attention. If that sign is "tiny" would you expect people to miss a "no entry" sign that is smaller than that one? Not to mention there are NUMEROUS warnings of a LEZ/ULEZ and Congestion charge MILES before you even enter the charging zone. I live on the outskirts of London and have seen signs for a congestion charge area 5-10 MILES before it starts. Do you miss all of those too? Same with ULEZ. I live in an area that has only recently had cameras installed, people keep knocking them down. There are signs literally everywhere even 1 or 2 miles down the road in either direction, signs every few hundred meters advising people it's a LEZ/ULEZ zone but people still claim they "didn't see it".
well the courts didn't think Noel Willcox was a dimWitt when they refunded his 11k lez fines because off the the information on the the signs or should i say lack off, your a ulez supporter who believes 4000 folk die in London from cars pollution yet drives a "polluting car " him self : so your the definition off DIMWITT

Who wants to go to London anymore (unless you have to for work)? I certainly don't. Khan has destroyed the appeal of London for me.
Really useful confirmation that it takes 3 days to see a journey on autopay. My exact problem. Good job! Thanks buddy.

Good luck with it

You do not have to pay at all, any decent lawyer will advise you as to why, the ULEZ signs are non compliant!
Best call to the contact Center ever there. Have to say I HATE having to pay it but I have autopay setup so I don’t cock up and pay a fine

Driving into London from Hayes Bridge, Southall 20 mph! I lost the will to drive and turn down inner London work now. Khan is killing London.
Too true- my legs can't take long journeys made longer! The UK govt Department For Transport seem to have a hand in this too for TfL's funding formula
Luckily our cars are compliant (no idea how but no complaining) but living in Wales I have only ever driven near a ULEZ zone once.
Haha thanks Tony. We only did it once, and now this fee is in it's like they turned on a bloody magnet!

Yes, or a £10 registration fee per year that will take 10 days to authorize so most EV drivers also get caught out.
