      Yeah . . . This was a bit lackluster for the end of Faustus. Good production design but the acting fell flat.

      I don't think even close to being scary! 😱 to me, I feel like he's the most courageous companion on the face of the Doctor Who planet! Or maybe he's just being very loud just to protect his love of his life: Amy. Or something! Idk!

    I saw this in theaters in Phoenix last year. It was stellar. Please, please make this available via Digital Theatre like you did with the Falstaff plays. I would dearly love to own this one.

    "Nay, thou must feel them, taste the smart of all."
    "He that loves pleasure must for pleasure fall."
    So much said in but a few words. If that line alone is not enough to immortalize Marlowe as an equal to Shakespeare, then I don't know what is.

    I thought this Doctor Faustus was really poor, he's being dragged to Hell and he barely seems to care, it was all a bit awkward. But the production is very impressive and frightening.

    Trained in theology, Faustus turns to magic and makes a perilous deal with the Devil in which he commits his soul to eternal damnation in return for power and knowledge in this life. But he is only human, and arrogant and reckless. Can Faust - or anyone - wield the powers of God or resist the temptations of the Devil?

    I'm pretty familiar with the play, but who is the fallen angel with the big wings at the end (remind me if I've forgotten)?
    Also, I'd love to see the full production of this, anyone know where I can find it? Or could somebody post it up on UA-cam in full or something please? That'd be awesome! :D

    • @ValorieJueles
      @ValorieJueles 10 років тому +5

      The angel at the end is Lucifer, it's sorta the answer to the question of why he's been needing to be supported by minions in order to walk all play: he's still used to flying.
      You can actually rent the full version online, if you google digital theater. Btw, this clip cut out the bit after the bows which was the best part of the entire show.
