I have to agree with you that this "total kick-ass", but "battle ready" is a bit of an overstatement. Try having the guy (target) run ziz zag, stop go, and run around obstacles such as trees bec that is what the real application would require.
Great video...Next I want to see a video of you guys playing a paint ball game with two teams, one team gets "close air support" and calls in an airstrike :-)
Now all you need to do is figure a way to mount the gun on the bottom and wire it up to a head tracker so it can rotate.. Still a killer thought in progress..Nice work guys!!!!
Cool. Here's an idea for improvement: add a little (physical) reticle out in front of the camera and sight it in. Would make it a lot easier to be accurate. Vibration or downforce might be an issue depending on how you mounted it though. Please try it and let us know if it helps! Great vid. -VRMan
You need to test the gun against a fixed target to get an accurate 'target picture' and then fix a cross hair in front of the camera to replicate that target picture.
Position one small mirror so it looks straight down the barrel, one more to reflect back to the camera...that way you get a better aim down the barrel. Awesome job, but it looks like guesswork on the gunners part.
Nice... I'm going to try this... But, I'll use some programming to add electronic stability control to the drone. I feel like as is, aiming is a bit inaccurate... but I bet it's super fun to play with it.
This is cool, but I think it could be efficiently controlled by one player, and also, it would be cool if you guys added a laser pointer or iron sights to it! :D
I've actually been a Hornet now for a little while and I know some of the team, mostly core players and owners, and I can say without a doubt that they have ZERO interest in cheating or "wiping off" paint. They've run one of the tightest PB fields for approximately 20 years and practically originated the sport. Trust me when I say they can take a hit in stride and always uphold a high code of conduct. Thanks for watching and share the links!
I don't see why people keep asking about Guns and Gardens. Just be happy that they're uploading a new and interesting series whereas G&G was getting a little stale.
Well done! But how did you manage to do the live video from a go pro camera? We need to do the live thing in our school, can you make video or simply explain how you did that? THX a lot.
ok here is a practical idea for this drone, gps programed flight path with a downward firing PB gun to mark property boundaries vala a autonomous surveying drone for land owners.
Having a two person team is a great idea, but only if you've given the gunner the ability to aim. after this point, it shouldn't be too much more difficult to mount the gun on a rotating servo. if all he can do is pull the trigger you might as well scrap the team approach and use a switch on your radio to fire. To hell with boring battle bots on TV, I would totally watch Drone Deathwatch anytime. Have a dozen teams in an abandoned old warehouse and have them flying around, either playing last man standing or team Deathmatch, two cameras per drone, a pilot and a gunner cam, plus cameras mounted inside the warehouse, perhaps have noncombatant camera drones filming with punishment for accidental hitting of them... give points for number of targets eliminated, etc. That would make for enjoyable watching.
+ExtravagantHammilton we could do the same thing with winged aircraft in winger areas outdoors. Have teams flying ultramodern, sleek planes doing 100+ along the California coastline, require them to remain under 250ft, have one team take off at point A, and the other from point B located two to five miles away and require them to remain within a narrow 500-750 foot strip of airspace to ensure no problems locating each other, and dogfight in the middle. give the gunner the ability to rotate his gun 360° so a plane being chased may still have a good chance of hitting his opponent and the whole thing isn't jockeying to be the plane that is chasing. Use large planes to ensure that someone gets shot... That'd be quite an enjoyable show too.
This drone would operate better with updated paintball gear. .50 call would reduce weight and size, and throwing a planet eclipse Ego with the .50cal conversation kit and a carbon fibre air tank would be a featherweight set up. Worth the time and money to have a pretty amazing piece of home made tech.
Could you have connected some of the rotation of the UAV to the wheel on the gunner's remote? if he could rotate up and down, he could probably be a bit more helpful...
You should make a "third person shooter" drone that stays in the same vicinity/position relative to a module on someone's head or back and allows you to see their paintball match, parkour running or whatever with a drone over their shoulder like a computer game. :D
cool but hows this . The oscillation of the PB gun needs to be separate from the actuation of the drone and some form of pendulum weight to offset the recoil
Just out of curiosity, what is the latency on the video feedback? Do you get a noticeable time delay between sending a control signal and seeing it move on the camera?
The barrel should aim down? Strafing runs would be more efficient no? Man these with pepper balls would be a serious home defence system for the unexpected
this would be dope is the paintball league allowed one drone on a team that is operated by 2 people and they cant go anywhere or have any weapons just be protected by their teammates and they can kill the other team with the done
You know what you should do, make another set of propellers on the bottom, cin a sense dual layer it, and use 1 pressire tank for two barrels and have that drone be able to flip around etc. I am not able to do so but please I woukd love to see this become real :D thank you
Y'all should program a crosshair to the googles, or put a sticker so y'all can adjust the aim. think i would done is bought a 7in LCD screen program crosshairs on it, then BINGO! more accurate aiming.
Justin Gould Yes, as I was watching that I was thinking how difficult it would be to get a shot. Just as you pull the trigger, the guy flying the thing turns left...
Need to use something like a xbox or playstation controller with a gimballed paintball gun and make the drone larger so it can carry more weight and is more stable :)
And this is how skynet is born, A.I. that controls drone air time, Multiple drone launch pads, real SMGs mounted to drone brackets with advanced motion trackers/ sensors, A.I. software that remote controls the gun and targeting systems, this is how high profile assassinations are going to occur.
MOST-HATED PERSON Recoil would be terrible and these things are already loud. Making it heavy enough so recoil doesn't have that affect would make it loud enough to be heard from another country.
Jack Fin A commercial sized drone like the one in the picture could be blown off course by some wind a real gun would torture it. Also these things have a battery life of 20 minutes add a gun and ammo that would probably be 10. My response was mostly to the high profile assassinations thing. We could probably work out the problems but there would be much better ways of making that work. It would probably be better to mount a pointy stick with poison on it and ram it into the target.
TheRoyalSeal246 That would certainly work also but I was thinking perhaps make it a suicide mission, strap a few c4/ napalm with remote detonation, costly since you get no refund on the drone but you'd success in eliminating multiple targets in the explosion, since the drone is most likely to become compromised any way being in close quarters with a target.
Why not have some kind of laser target designator? Have the drone follow you, and when you put the laser on a target, the drone leaves who it's following and attacks the designated target. When the laser turns off, or some kind of recall button is pressed, the drone comes back to you.
Somebody was going to do it. As long as people are shooting paintballs at each other instead of lead I'm just fine with it. Safe expressions of human hunter instincts are good for us. The worse thing that happens on a paintball field is a twisted ankle or torn knee ligament.
I wonder how their setup for it affects ball speed, is the drones maker firing hot? That looked more lie a reflex Owwww reach to his back than a paint wipe to me
That's one small step for man, one giant leap for Skynet.
Would make for a helluva scenario game to have drones patrolling a battlefield! Awesome work fellows
I have to agree with you that this "total kick-ass", but "battle ready" is a bit of an overstatement. Try having the guy (target) run ziz zag, stop go, and run around obstacles such as trees bec that is what the real application would require.
kawivloger thats was i was thinking cuase people can hide behind things and shoot down easily
Sure was effective against a guy running away from it, in a straight line, with no cover..... Just like a real paintball match...
Its the Typhoon effect, just a mf drone shooting paintball from the sky would scare the shit out of people making them run out of cover
Nice. My main criticism of the video is that your target went to the Prometheus school of running away from things.
those extras pretending to work on the drone while he talks
LOL
Great video...Next I want to see a video of you guys playing a paint ball game with two teams, one team gets "close air support" and calls in an airstrike :-)
Can you imagine in a paintball match, and after so many points, you get access to one of these babies?
That'd b sweeeet!
Now all you need to do is figure a way to mount the gun on the bottom and wire it up to a head tracker so it can rotate.. Still a killer thought in progress..Nice work guys!!!!
i would love to see a team of people vs 2 or 3 drones
Cool. Here's an idea for improvement: add a little (physical) reticle out in front of the camera and sight it in. Would make it a lot easier to be accurate. Vibration or downforce might be an issue depending on how you mounted it though. Please try it and let us know if it helps! Great vid. -VRMan
You need to test the gun against a fixed target to get an accurate 'target picture'
and then fix a cross hair in front of the camera to replicate that target picture.
Why don't you go be a test dummy for them.
Why not put a cut-down Ruger 10/22 in that drone?
I hope to see one of these drones in an up coming guns n gardens episode.
Safety first please! Amazing, but ALL the guys should also have masks on.
Sorry but they are not bitches like you.
That's pretty cool. You should make the gun able to rotate independently from the drone. Give the person controlling a video game controller to aim.
This is cool, but I think it could be efficiently controlled by one player, and also, it would be cool if you guys added a laser pointer or iron sights to it! :D

I feel like I'm watching a documentary on the history channel
+MrDinky104 Thank you! high praise indeed!
Marque Cornblatt Production
There is one, but it doesn't help much during the daytime. It's works great at night however. Thanks for the comments and share the links.
Looks like fun. What model of paintgun did he say was used? How much did this all weigh, and what kind of flight endurance are you getting?
I'd love to see an airsoft version! Could be lighter and shoot super fast. Plus the trigger could be electric. ;) love your paintball version too!
I don't see why people keep asking about Guns and Gardens. Just be happy that they're uploading a new and interesting series whereas G&G was getting a little stale.
Bro. .... This is awesome!!!!!!!
That was very interesting thanks but and there's always a but! I wonder what it would of performed like with the human in covering firing back?
Who will be the first to mount an AR15 on a drone?
tea isstronger Who knows. They've have armed drone dating back to World War 2 though.
tea isstronger check on your right next to your comment..!!FPSrussia did just that:quadrocopter with machine gun.
jean-michel HERBERT sorry to break this to you, but that video is fake.
Fps Russia did it in 2012
Kem Sprite thats fake as hell lol
Love it!!!! needs to be single person though... botton on rc controller mod, and or head tracking module? Awesome! cheers:-)
Nice video, great work too
I would experiment with a pinhole camera on top of the barrel to serve as a sighting system. Sweet UAV though.
This is seriously sinister, but I kind of want one.

I had no idea that I needed one of these!
Shut up and take my money!

I just jizzed my pants! Ive also just realized that my life is being wasted every minute I'm not building drones. These are freakin awesome!
Sweet! I love the idea of aerial drone combat. :)
Marathi movie
At the maker fair they had a thing where drones would try and knock each other out of sky by hitting each other. that was pretty entertaining.
A laser and a rotating turret would make this more effective
I think it needs to be amicable on the terms, if it's a small prize over long periods it could work out.
This is excellent. Thank you.
This is awesome! Don't listen to the hate
Zipties rule! Thx for watching and share the links.
Very cool. The gunner's camera needs some sort of reticle.
Just out of curiosity, what is the latency on the video feedback? Do you get a noticeable time delay between sending a control signal and seeing it move on the camera?
The next step is camera/gun stabilization and even a bit of aiming for the firing apparatus. Once that is n it will be pretty much unstopable.
SOLD i want this for scenario paintball games!
Awesome mod, congrats on that :)
so if you sometimes went over to the paintball place and had somebody pay you to go bug the other team, that would be illegal?
got any tips for a basic quad thats under 500$ that is big enough to rig this to or make it for airsoft ?
This would be freaking amazing if you could like use a Google cardboard to see where you are in first person.
Next you should mount multiple or a single paint ball marker on a lighter than air drone to make a paint ball gunship
It would have been so sick if they got a laser pointer attached to the paint ball gun.
put a reticle on ur go pro or something for accurate targeting
that sounds painful
Does anybody have any info on the camera and goggles they used? How did they stream the camera to the goggles? Where would I get something like this?
Very freakin nice!
How many people do you have to shoot to get to use this in battle. Like COD MW
Nice joy division pants!
How did you make the camera and goggle work my detail please
why don't you set up a swing in target lined up for the camera for better accuracy
How much is a drone like this one and how can I buy one?
I play woods ball
Awesome Man!
I would like to chat to you about this
You know what would be cool...a team fortress 2 paintball sentry.
You need to boresite the camera to the gun and add an aiming point.
I wonder if it could catch Usain Bolt? The guy in this vid ran like a neanderthal.
you guys should find a way to pivot the gun left or right to be more accurate
Can the drone survive against paintballs?
The barrel should aim down? Strafing runs would be more efficient no? Man these with pepper balls would be a serious home defence system for the unexpected
this would be dope is the paintball league allowed one drone on a team that is operated by 2 people and they cant go anywhere or have any weapons just be protected by their teammates and they can kill the other team with the done
Paintball Jungle blows..... The Hornets amp their guns up so much. Wont ever go there again.... BTW Bad ass drone good job...
happy Thanksgiving

Why don't you do drone paintball warfare @marque
Stick the paintball gun on a gimbal with head tracking and see what it can do.
you need a way to shoot all the faces at the same time because onece one dies they will all turn and you cant track them.
I mean head tracking on the pilot/gunner, so the gun points where they look independently of the quadcopter direction.
Justin Gould
Yes, as I was watching that I was thinking how difficult it would be to get a shot. Just as you pull the trigger, the guy flying the thing turns left...
You want it...? Come and get it, bro!
guy getting ready to run from the drone rolled his eyes like "oh no, not again!" lol
Ego 10, rotor, i3, nice set up
Cool but why would they split the gunner from the driver it's stupid just add a trigger button
Need to use something like a xbox or playstation controller with a gimballed paintball gun and make the drone larger so it can carry more weight and is more stable :)
+thejoedude thefirejoe a gimballed gun would be cool, or maybe if you had control of the elevation of the gimbal then it would be even better.
It would be scary to walk into a quiet field and then notice a bunch of these buzzing around at scenario games.
Two pilots? It's like a jaeger!
Lol dude they shoot fucking missles... You think some engineer or w/e couldnt work out a way to deal with a gun's recoil?
Jack Fin A commercial sized drone like the one in the picture could be blown off course by some wind a real gun would torture it. Also these things have a battery life of 20 minutes add a gun and ammo that would probably be 10. My response was mostly to the high profile assassinations thing. What's the total price?

Ahaha Play cod? or ghost recon any time soon?
Dude, sell me one, better yet lets make this hobby rule bro!
dude, don't even bother talking to these bottom dwellers. The drone rocks! It just needs to become a single operator machine and it will be perfect.
Somebody was going to do it. As long as people are shooting paintballs at each other instead of lead I'm just fine with it. Safe expressions of human hunter instincts are good for us. The worse thing that happens on a paintball field is a twisted ankle or torn knee ligament.
I go to paintball jungle all the time
Now all you need is some 68cal. MB68P breaker balls and you have yourself a weapons platform, Coming from police and military to a town near you.
It's the dragonfly!
can I please buy one of there
exellente video
People who hate drones have a challenge now
I wonder how their setup for it affects ball speed, is the drones maker firing hot? That looked more lie a reflex Owwww reach to his back than a paint wipe to me
