I have to hand it to the Devs they really tried with the sunwell mission. Completely redesigned the map, gave the runners alternate routes, gave Sylvanas a new spell and added in more heroes defending the sunwell on top of a new cut scene. I also love how the villagers attempt to run to other bases once the base they're in is destroyed. If only they tried this hard on everything else.
The original Well of Sun looks like a simple fountain, dude. This was a way better improvement than original.

Not gonna lie, I kinda like the new Sun Well. It's integrated with nature and actually goes down. The original one was just a straight up fountain.
The optional quest asked you not to attack the city before killing Sylvanas.
That's why it failed
Arthas last episode:damn she destroyed the bridge, we must find another way

Sylvanas: we must send a runner to silvermoon.
Also Sylvanas: standing at the gate of Silvermoon
Don't want to nit pick, but they make it so easy
the bridge is very easy to explain, but really shitty to see. When Sylvanas destroyed the bridge they can't cross because her archers are waiting on the other side and would just open fire on them, plus they have meat wagons, they ain't suitable for water. Also in the book, Arthas just built a bridge of corpses so yeah.
In this mission, Arthas was supposed to freeze and entire channel that separates Silvermoon and the Isle of Quel'danas (where the Sunwell is). I'm pretty disappointed they did not add Sylvanas's line here, where she says
"You cannot fill this channel with corpses Arthas, not even the entire city would be enough. You are stopped here, and your failure is sweet."
Also regarding with the runners, she and her forces was pushed back so they end near the walls of Silvermoon where they can't retreat any further
Arthas built a bridge of corpses in the book. But to reach the sunwell Ner Zhul granted him the ability to make a bridge as it was on another island.
Woah, they changed the map and there's a new enemy heroes (High King) Arasterian Sunstrider and (Master Swordsman) Thalorien Dawnseeker
Keep in mind that you can attack most cages in the campaign. And some of them give you additional unit and some of them are empty
Oh boi, lowko you better not keep forgettin what guys do best here. Just remindin you about cannibalize and also burrow for the crypt fiends so that you play better in the game.
burrow was added later in frozen throne expansion.

12:23 Nope, no bug. Told you the map got completely redesigned. Now optional quest tells you to "avoid attacking Silvermoon city", which was the light blue building you attacked. It wants you destory the runners' base before moving onward. And yeah, Sylv is completely different now. It's cause RoC and TFT got basically merged into one (how everyone complained about TFT balance in RoC campaigns). Before she was just a bigger Banshee, but since her redesign in TFT became canon, in Reforged she's basically Dark Ranger hero (expect Black Arrow skill). And geez, if you think this Sunwell is "just a puddle", you best not fire up the video of this mission during your first playthrough.
42:11 Yes, it's different than Paladin's Resurrection because it's not Resurrection, it's Animate Dead. May not seem like a big deal, but watching your first time going through the campaigns between these videoes, and you some times make it harder on yourself by not knowing what your heroes' skills do.
Even in the old mission it used to fail if you attacked the city because the whole idea behind that optional quest was to buy you time. As long as you kept killing the runners and didnt attack Silvermoon they wouldnt know you were there so you could just build up your forces.
@@tzoanast1061 Did it, though? One optional quest was topping runners and the second was killing Sylvanas. Just that they were both in the same spot.
@@CalciumChief I am talking about the whole thing about failing the quest when you attack Silvermoon. That was still on the old optional quest but yes killing Sylvanas was also part of the same quest on the old version, it didnt even tell you to kill her, as soon as you destroyed her base you had the cutscene. Which was also a bit weird because Sylvanas became such an important character later on and some people didnt even know she was raised by Arthas since they hadnt done the optional quest.
The thing with Sylvanas being a dark ranger was that she got back her old body constructed using some dark energy (correct me if im wrong bcs i dont remember) the nshe repossessed it
and its cool to see her hero character as a banshee of her own too

Meatwagons deploy corpses automatically lowko if any unit needs a corpse for a spell or skill. Unless theyve fucked that up too in Warcraft 3 Refunded

See your basic dragon has 4 legs and is typically bigger. Wyrms have 2 legs and 2 arms on their wings.

I could be wrong but thats actually a wyvern. A wyrm is more shaped like the lock ness monster. Kinda like a dragon/snake. Think the basalisk from harry potter but more dragon like. A wyvern is like game of thrones dragon and a regular dragon is just as you said.
So then frostwyrms are dragons and no wyrms? And the got dragons are wyrms and no dragons?
The frostworms have 4 legs....you can see it there a western style dragon.
@@HeaveninHellfirespinning Yeah its obvious in the new animation, but i couldnt see 4 legs in the old one which is what I was going off of. Mabye they changed it or mabye it was always like that and the animation wasnt clear.
@@greaterFool3765 yes frostwyrms are dragons and not wyrms. Got dragons are wyverns.
Just to clarify one thing, Frost Wyrms are reanimated blue dragons, since there's a bunch of their corpses under the ice in Northrend, so, they are, indeed, dragons.
The bug is probably patched out by now, but I'm a bit upset that he didn't control a peasant and build a million human heroes, that was a thing you could do ij the Sylvanas mission back in the day and it was so fun.
3 necromancers, 3 towers, 1 graveyard, at each entrance/base, no worries
Also, you can select a spell and target something on the list of selected units. Great way to heal friendlies
Lowko you can use Sylvanas silence skill to stop those archmages from casting his there blizzard skill and also stop it during casting from damaging you 👍.

The extra quest was basicly not to kill anything blue. Classic lowko
In the following mission, remember the power of Death Coil + Frost Nova on a single target. Will really come in handy.
Wow, I am learning so much about wc3 mechanics I didn't know/understand from these comments xD. Btw neutral creeps don't give experience to heroes once hero reaches lvl 5.
The first 30 min: Everything was changed. Actually the previous mission level was changed too. It gave it more relevance.
it was a nice idea to change the defender of the well, from golems to heroes, it was nicer that they were the ones in the lore that defended the well, the most nice it was that they were using the weapons that you can get in wow, felo'melorn and quel'delar
Lowko has an ability to sacrifice units for mana: gets his ground attacking group of units + 1 air attacker to slowly widdle it down.
What did you expect, Lowko? It's a well with name xDDD
Unholy frenzy from a few necromancers can boost the damage output of your frost wyrm army by 75%.
You did not use banshees to possess a villager. We are disappoint.
Did they change the map of Silvermoon? In the original you started in the NE, the small elven base was in the NW and the large base was in the S.

I think you forgot what the sunwell was back in original WarIII :p I found this remarke very good. I would have loved the "water" to actually be golden like in the game or green after corruption like in world of warcraft but still. it's way than the model in the original.
Pretty strong casters your opponents got there. If only you could silence them and prevent them from casting...

43:59 - WC3 Frost Wyrms are actually Undead Blue Dragons. Their model looks like it only has 2 legs (which would make them Wyverns) but in WoW the Forst Wyrms have 4 legs.

favorite unit to play as undead is banshee and possessed the enemy's best unit
it is also possible to build other buildings by possessing their workers though that depends if it allows

Well, Ashe was indeed based on Sylvanas. Two her abilities, to be exact: the owl and the ice arrows. Don't remember if she had something akin to trueshot aura in her first iteration.
just imagine..if death is already so scary for us, how horribly scary it is for immortals like elves :S you can not die unless you are killed yet you must go into battle risking it all so that others can stay immortal..

Dragon has 6 limbs, 4 leg and 2 wings, wyvern has 4 limbs 2 leg and 2 psuedo hands and wing, wyrm are same like wyvern
In warcraft wyrm is ancient dragon, so its name of the age stage, not their species type. Dragon age stages go like that whelp>drake>dragon>wyrm.

This really feels like the one mission they put maximum effort into
Runs into enemy & fails optional quest = visibly confused
Dragon: Six limbs, four legs, two wings. Long neck and tail, breaths an element.
Wyvern: Four limbs, two legs, two wings, usually venomous, bite, stinger, or both. Shorter neck long tail.
Drake: Four limbs, four legs, some times breaths an element, usually not, short neck short tail, kinda think big cat.
Wurm: No limbs, big angry snake.
Wyrm: Old ass dragon.
Hoh, they changed this map quite a bit it seems. Watching lowko not use silence on heroes and spellcasters inflict physical pain on me. And also him not noticing an entire sidequest first time around.

The forest in the world map is shaped like a heart. Is that ironic or something? Old Blizz ususally didn't leave anything to coincidense in my experience.

As i remember, Sylvanas would be an archer hero only in Frozen Throne
Yes, originally she was merely turned into a larger banshee (rather than a hero type), who later in The Frozen Throne was made into the dark ranger we know. The developers seemed to make the change better by making the banshee she's turned into on defeat a hero and keep her own look. Her change wasn't originally intended as a character that would exist further on until they decided that having her remain around to spite Arthas ect would be some good plot, which is part of the reason the game didn't even have her there or even a notification about the items on her being left at your base in the next mission like in the human campaign. Well, that, or the developers couldn't get that far on the next mission before all the promises on Reforged were started to tone down...

I will make this clear, while the "remastered levels" which to say the levels they did change, I would ague are more interactive, I don't think interactive = better. They're smaller in general and to me that is a bad thing. For one thing, it doesn't make much sense that you're killing Sylvanas before you alert Silvermoon, when you're doing so 10 yards from the front gate. Before Silvermoon was at the bottom of the map, which sure, geographically it makes more sense this way but that detail doesn't matter much when if you compare maps in this game to wow there's only general similarity. Before Sylvanas was at the top left of the map and it was her base that sent out the runners. Now the runners come from a third party base. That and change is hard to adapt to regardless when you have fond memories from before.
I really feel they should let you play both levels via something akin to the mission archive in Starcraft II. Regardless one thing I do love is that unlike the Original Warcraft III, they give Sylvanas proper respect as a character in Reign of Chaos. Previously in Reign of Chaos, if memory serves, she did not have unique graphics, she was just bigger and named differently than the other banshees. She also did not have an inventory back then. They fixed both those things in the Reforged version of the game. Adding King Anasterian Sunstrider equipped with Felo'Melorn is also a nice touch.

The main menu is a chrome web app that uses so time the resources the game itself does. And it disconnects all the friggin' time. Don't waste money.

I finally figured out the undead secret! They are not turned citizens of lordaerone, they were the alliens from Signs all this time, waiting to conquer the world, but having the greatest weakness - water! That's why undead units don't want to go past through even the smallest river!

Why is Arthases arc considered a good story. His plot is I've quarantined a plague, guess I'll kill everyone now.
It's more about how Jaina and Uther didn't even tried to understand his viewpoint. Everyone who gets ill will turn undead. So Arthas killed them before they could turn Undead. But Uther and Jaina acted like there would be a way to save them which there wasn't.
It's more of a man turning insane after getting betrayed over and over again and paying a terrible price for a bargain he took too hastily.

Already someone asked, and even I can tell you that no. Not only is this a kind of third person shooter, it's just some unfinished build on the OG XBox that you also need to modifiy somehow. This was never expected to release on PC.
