Poor Glenn Medeiros; his expression at 14:38 is that of a man who's flown across the Atlantic to hear a load of people destroying him and his record on national TV. Jools Holland's expression after every critical comment shows his inner realisation of the awkwardness to come as well.
This was a classic..Vic and Bob were just starting out..and it was hilarious that Bob said that he thought he could have Glenn in a fight..only for him too appear..after getting verbally massacred as well..Lol.
I remember this from the time and have just relived the awkwardness of the Glen Medeiros bit. His track was no better / worse than a lot of pop tracks around at that time.
I didn't like the way Neneh Cherry lumped all American college indie music together by comparing They Might Be Giants to that "sound" she's "allergic" to. But it's quite hilarious how much TMBG divides people taste-wise. Personally, I get sick of them really fast, but they are their own thing, not copying others style or sound.
Never heard of that group Eat but the lead singer sounded a bit like Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode in parts. That song by They Might Be Giants sure sounds dated like alot of that college rock stuff from that era. That bit with Glenn Medeiros was awkward to watch, I felt sorry for him.
...GLENN, BABY!! ....I always LOVED the tune they trashed (called, "All I'm Missing Is You"), and I never saw this show...but I'm DEVASTATED for Glenn! ...he looked like he wanted to cry! (14:38) ...but to be honest, Glenn was never really a 'new jack bunny', so, ya live & learn, Kid.....
This is pretty poor. I never thought I would say this but I prefer the Noel Edmonds one to the Jules Holland one. Hardly any of the record is played most of the time and Jules is too domineering. I don't know what came first, Jules Holland's or Noel Edmonds version, I can kind of understand why Jules may have taken over if he did because of the smoking and drinking amongst children on the Noel Edmonds show (gosh I sound old, oh yeah I forgot, I am) but this really was quite trashy.

I've been looking for this for years. Cheers! 😄

Omg, I remember watching this in 1990 on british tv when I was 8-9 years old.
This show needs to come back
Opening credit music is John Barry, in-case you were struggling to place it (Like I was)

Jokes on them, reached No 12 in the UK
I watched this on TVs worst moments, I felt a bit bad for him but it's still funny. 😂
That was a total ambush job.
Wow. That was unfortunate..

If looks could kill...🤣
Glenn got took the fuck out...
Neneh Cherry YUM!
Yeah she's well fit isn't she?
Ah yes, the (often vicious) British humour. Doesn't translate well for Mr Medeiros, unfortunately. :D
Hahaha. How awkward. 😂😂😂
Who remembers Glenn Marmalade, as famous as the Monks
Take it like a man Glenn ! .. oh well, perhaps not
Awkward
