When I first found out I was pregnant, I planned to thrift all the clothes for my little one. After announcing we’re having a girl, a buddy of my boyfriend (who has a little girl at home) ended up giving us 4 boxes of clothes from NB/preemie up to 2 year. Sure, some pieces may be a little tacky and not necessarily what I’d dress my daughter in, but I am so blessed that I haven’t needed to spend a single cent on clothing! Thrifting/second hand is the way to go. You definitely had some awesome finds. Great video, as per usual! Love from Quebec✨
Yes this! I have a lot of handmedowns and I don’t like a lot of them but they clothe my baby and it allows me to get pieces here and there that I reallllly love.
Love this!!! With my first baby I was able to get EVERYTHING for her for $100. I’m talking stroller, crib, clothes.. everything she needed from a local thrift shop. They held a quarter sale where everything was only 25 cents including large items. So thankful for places like this ☺️🙏🏽
Omg i know this comment is old but that is awesome I wish our thrift shop that at least did dollar sales was still around.
Preparing a home birth/ home birth essentials would be incredibly interesting! Keeping you in my prayers 🙏🏻🤍🌞
@@SarahTherese Yes... would love to see this, too! Had my first two at home, but always learning.
I was just about to say this!!
Yes!!!
Yes yes yes! I've been worried about hospital birth with covid stuff and all, so I'm considered a homebirth next time, but it makes me so nervous cause j know nothing about homebirths!
@@reed5511 Find a homebirth midwife in your area and go interview them with all your questions! They are so precious and knowledgeable. GEMS, I tell you. I always had full hour appts with them... rarely if ever had to wait. They helped so much with the mental and emotional prep side of things.
A tip someone taught me for storing baby clothes is using vacuum seal bags and storing them by size (with a label)! They will all be so compact to fit in a storage bin and if you have more children you just go pull out the size bag you need!!
My best friend had her second child two months ago, and her advice for my future baby was "Onesies for the first month or two if you need to give yourself some extra grace, Baby will not care if you can't provide 'outfits' in the beginning" and I thought I'd share for anyone who might need to give themselves a little extra grace xx
Loved the video; the clothes are so cute!
Omg, dye the muslin wrap with onion skins! They make such a pretty soft rusty brown, and it's super easy to do. Just keep your onion skins until you have a decent amount, boil them on the stove until you get a great colour, strain out skins, and add your garments to the dye bath for as long as you like. Rinse, wash, and your done! Plus, it makes your kitchen smell like French onion soup 😂
A mama after my own heart: soft, comfy clothes for a bitty baby-- YES. It hurts my heart to see little ones dressed all stuffy and comfy. They were in water for 9 months, can you imagine putting on jeans after all that?? Also, sweet, gender neutral colors are just so lovely.
Yessss to thrift shops! I thrifted all the baby clothes for my youngest son and still buy 90% second hand for both my kids and myself. I love it. I always look at thrift shops first before anything else. Single mom tips! 👌❤
Can we just take a minute to applaude how organized the thrift store is. 👏🙌
Love what you thrifted, best way to,go, babies grow out of their clothes so quickly. I did have a chuckle, I only wear soft, comfy clothes, I can not wear denim, it drives me crazy….
Take care Sarah ❤️
2:00 this gave my organized heart all the feels
I know! It was beautiful! 😂
I loooove watching thrift halls!! Mainly because I don’t have thrift stores where I live 🤣
No thrift stores!? Where about do you live 😮
Same! We have thrift stores (we call them op shops) in New Zealand but they're nowhere near the size of the North American ones. They're amazing and have such good stuff.
@@atalayanelson1483 Secunda , South Africa
@@catherineholborn1605 is there any sort of used clothing stores at all there? I never thought there would be places that didnt have something like that since they seem to make more sense to me than clothing stores that sell only new.
The fact that store has things sorted by color is DREAMY
As a mom of ten, I have come to believe that the single most important, valuable, absolute essential prep item is freezer meals and/or wonderful friends to bring you food. :)
I live in England and have a 5 month old son. This week we’ve hit up 11 “thrift shops” (we call them charity shops) and there were 6 items for a baby under 1 🙈 you guys are BLESSED!!
I am 14 weeks 3 days preg with a baby girl. My youngest daughter is 5 so I dont have any baby girl clothes. I went to a consignment shop and I bought 1 preemie outfit, 11 newborn, 6 three month, and 5 six month outfits for $34 USD. They just happened to have a dot sale that day and almost everything I picked out was 50% off. I was pretty happy with what I got.
The mustard yellow pants are so cute ☺️. I can wait to have a family of my own one day 💓✨
I hated dressing my baby in jeans or rough/stiff clothing. I was really sensitive to that when I was younger so I just wanted her to live in a cloud. 🤣
My baby is 1 1/2, and I just now started dressing him in some thin and fairly soft jeans so he can play more rough outside in the sand and grass and such. I've thrifted (or rather bought used bundles) baby clothes before, and always HAD jeans for his size, just never reached for them or used them.
Thrifting clothes for my babe is my favorite thing in the world! When i was younger thrifting was NOT COOL lol. But once I got into high school and started to realize the cool things you can find while thrifting I was instantly hooked. I thrift most of my clothes now and most of my sons clothes as well and i will continue to thrift for myself and future babes! Loved this video omggggggg
Yeah I would thrift at your thrift store in a second - it is so different where I live :/ when ever I am pregnant I will be sure to look though, but you scored- that’s the same simple style I would want for my baby
I love you, Sarah! Baby 4 is coming into a wonderful family :) Your positive attitude and smile is one of the best parts of my day. I work so much I never see friends or family, even my husband! So thank you for being the beautiful person He intended you to be.
Hi Sarah! I just rediscovered your channel and I am absolutely in love with how calm and uplifting all of your videos are. They are so perfect to have playing in the background while cleaning or doing any chores around the house. I've also been inspired by you to start decluttering my space- I'm moving out of home soon so it's perfect timing- and I can't believe how much better it makes me and my space feel
Waiting for God to bless us with a little babe of our own. But living for these baby videos is the meantime 🌸
Thumbs up for you Sarah doing thrifting for baby and not going crazy to buy all new for days/weeks of wearing!!!
Yesss! A video I’ve been so excited for!!!
your hair is soooo cute! i’m obsessed!
The clothes are so cute !
Wish our trifts store had that many options. I always shop mostly gender neutral for clothes up to 12 months, because my babes are in 12 months clothing by the time before 6 months. At 6 months they are usually around 20lbs and 29 inches.
Same !
It's once upon a child there's 380 locations!!!
@@analenard9709 only one in new brunswick and it is far. I guess we could do a day trip haha
Loved this video sarah! And hey! Even if you do have a boy but you found a dress you live no rules saying your son can’t wear it!
Oh my God! This was so cuuute to watch! I love baby clothes, they are so tiny and cute! Love you and bless you and your family, Sarah!
The “raunchy and stupid” comment about baby clothing graphics had me in tears! 😂 I couldn’t agree more! Love the whole thrift haul and how calming and classy everything is! 💓 great job mama!
Cartoons aren’t “raunchy” or “stupid,” they just aren’t your taste. I’m sure there’s millions of mothers in need on this earth who’d use cartooned clothes for their children in a heartbeat.
I agree.
Honestly, I'm in my first pregnancy. Just hitting the third trimester. I loved her videos before pregnancy, but some of these little comments get to me. I'm glad to see it's not just me. I had just found out we were expecting when their finding out video was posted. That video crushed me because of how many times it was mentioned that they only tried once. My husband and I are mid twenties and did a year of really trying and treatments before it happened for us. It took me two years before I could even get medically cleared to try for a baby.
Sorry for the long ramble, I just appreciate you verifying that how I'm feeling isn't just hormones.
I find sponge bob inappropriate for children.
TheZMom I see where you’re coming from
@@TheZMom_Emmelia oh they definitely is it's got a lot of adult humor but I think it's for parents who watch with their kids cause when I was little I didn't realize they where saying anything inappropriate
@@corpselizzy but that’s the issue. Kids don’t know- they are impressionable. They learn things by osmosis.
I’m just so sad that in Belgium we don’t have these huge thriftstores like in Canada/USA
Possible excellent business idea?
Same in the Czech republic. I think that people in Europe in general use their stuff to the fullest, and when they are done, it is no longer usable for someone else. At least that’s how it is in my social bubble. We have trift stores, but they are not very nice places, a lot of weird smells, not so nice clothes, no furniture 🙁. You need to go searching on on-line bazaars for nice things.
You don't hate Noz like in France ? you have also the friperies ( i don't know the english word ).
Same here in Germany. I always have to search online and it's so annoying. But the few baby thrift stores only sell very expensive brand clothing for about 2/3 of the retail price.
I was just thinking I wish we had Thrift shops like this in my country (Slovakia) 🙂
I definitely needed one or your videos today !!!! 😌❤️
Getting so excited. These are totally adorable. Thank you for encouraging us to thrift! It's an awesome choice.
You are such a joy to Watch and if I’m have a bad day you are there to cheer me up
Loved watching this! Thrifting and baby stuff. What a combo! 😍
I feel you with the graphic clothes. It’s so hard to find just normal cute plain or patterned clothing for my kids. I prefer more neutral or soft colored clothing and it’s also hard to weed through stuff that’s neon colored, sparkly or glittery.
Love this video so muchhhhh 😭 thrifting baby clothes is the BEST.
Absolutely love once upon a child for the kids clothes🤗
This pregnancy is flying by..I can't believe baby 4 I found you when you only had one. I love all the great finds!!!!
Yay for thrifting videos!
Woah! Your thrift stores are so nice an well organized!! 😍
Honestly videos where people do Baby/ toddler clothing hauls are my favorites.
I’ve never been so early! I love your thrifting videos!! 💖💖
So exciting!!! 👶💖
You can try dyeing with avocados, the result is a beautiful dusty pink color
I was thinking the basket doubling as a bassinet as well! How funny.
I love how sustainable AND affordable it is to thrift baby clothes!
I live in New York and cry over how good the thrift stores are everywhere else especially canada
😍😍😍 These are the cutest thrifted baby clothes. Wish I had such good quality thrift clothes here
Your channel always just brings me so much joy❤️❤️❤️😄 I love baby clothes too!! Like i just imagine how cute the little bubba will look in it.
Where I live, I often find that I can purchase brand new baby clothes for much cheaper during online sales and just purchasing a small capsule wardrobe (if you buy multi packs of onesies, pants, etc. they all tend to be cheaper and coordinate) than trying to find pieces that work together from a thrift store. If I thrift it tends to end up as a modgepodge of random things that don't really equate to a full wardrobe and I have to end up buying new anyway.
Love everything! So soft 🐑
I love your explanation of graphics lol I feel the same way!
You have such a fun channel! I ALWAYS look forward to watching your videos, thank you!
My favorite sleepers were the gowns that had the little drawstring or buttons at the bottom. I had a boy and we kept him in them til they stopped making his size! They were so easy in the middle of the night!:)
I’ve thrifted my babies clothes up to 6 months. Everything is beautiful, and looks brand new. We’ve got sleep sacks, swaddles, Muslin blankets, change pad, baby carriers, and all the clothes they need. Barely spent any money. Highly recommend!
Make your muslin blankets!! I went to Hobby Lobby and got a bunch of solid and patterned muslin fabric and just cut giant squares
Wow I’d love to do that but feel like I’d mess it up 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂
We are starting shopping for stuff for baby #2 today and I'm so excited!
Those are the cutest pair of baby harem pants I have ever seen!🥰
I loved the snap tops for when they were new! Those were the cutest!:) My favorite was a white, with different color small stars, long sleeve snap shirt
If anything can give me baby fever real fast, it’s BABY CLOTHES! What sweet things you found!
I’m 27 weeks with my 2nd currently, but my 1st was 9 lbs, 11 oz, 21 inches 2 weeks early🙃 he’s now 40 lbs and just turned 2!😅
So inspired
Just got done thrifting at Once Upon A Child for our baby on the way as well! Also, WHAT is on your lips?! It's GORGEOUS😍
Pleeeeeeease start a podcast! I know that yall are busy but even just one month would be amazing! Love you!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
When giving out desires like this. Write specifically 10 topics you'd like her to cover :) I think that's a good starter point and maybe she and Kieran will pick a couple :)
Love all of your baby videos ❤️
Your hair looks sooo cute... Love it ❤️😍
I always knew you’d have another baby 😂🤷🏽♀️ I’m not mad about it!!! So excited to see baby. Congrats, Sarah! Hoping for my second this year
godddd... this thrift shop looks amazing! I've never seen so many baby clothes at thrift shops in Poland...
This was fun. I love baby clothes hauls 👶☺
I’m a button sleeper person too! I find that the zippers always roll up and are in their face. I like the looks of the buttons better as well
I was always snapping the wrong snap and having to redo them 😂
@@hollyl5702 haha I do that too! 😆
I always have trouble with zipper sleepers being too tight on the zipper side leg with my cloth diapers babies. The snaps fit so much better
“This is gonna be on my baby.”
(Referring to a little shirt.)
😆
Made me laugh. So cute! Happy for you!
I love these kinds of videos ♡
I don't have kids and I can't have them, but each baby video you post I enjoy it so much.
You got the cutest things. You’ve got great taste haha lucky baby 🥰🥳
So cute Sarah 😍
Thanks a lot. Now I have baby fever 😩😍
You did well! We are also expecting baby number 2 after 10 years so we obviously we are starting from scratch, we were lucky enough to be given all the clothes bubbs will need for the first 6 months 😊
Love your finds!
I love these thrift videos!
I would love a video on how you handle people wanting to buy things for your baby, especially having a preferred style and things for your baby😊
I loveeee going back and watching the old videos knowing that it’s little Molly in there 🥺
you're such a beautiful momma!
That is how I have been buying everything for my first born, from thrift and baby consignment stores, as well as second hand from people. I also highly recommend looking into Just Between Friends sales. I believe every U.S. state has one.
Wow the first is an amazing kids clothing thrift shop.
6 lbs is perfect, that's not that small at all. 💕
I was very small, 4 lbs 9 oz born at 37 weeks.
I was going to say the same thing! When she kept repeating how small her babies were, I kept thinking around the 4-5lb range but 6-6.5 lbs is totally normal according to most doctors! I was 6 lbs 7 oz.
I would love to wait to find out what I’m having! Currently pregnant with baby number 3! First was a boy second was a girl. My husband however has to know lol. I have small babies too! 5 lbs 10 oz and 5 lbs 6 oz both 3 weeks early! Praying for you during this pregnancy!
Have you tried leaving stuff out in full sunshine to remove stains, it works so well. The sunshine also sanitizes.
Ohhh I love this! I have an MCC thrift store and a value village where I live. The MCC has the tiiiiiiiniest amount of baby stuff ever and it’s in a part of town where those people need to pay $0.25 for a onsie or the baby won’t have any clothes otherwise, and the value village doesn’t hang anything from NB-12 months so as much as I love the hunt the actual dig through a bin of clothes 1 foot off the ground is also not very enticing 😩 I’m lucky to have a sister in law that just gave me everything she had from 6-12 months!
I wish I had a nice thrift store like yours. Nothing in my area. Thank you for sharing.
That giggle after "i need diapers.. for myself" 🤣👏🏼
Hi Sarah may GOD gives u sweet baby boy 💕
Hey I’m first! Your videos are awesome Sarah!
Oh my goodness totally agree with you on the graphics thing! I have two boys and I seriously get so annoyed trying to find just plain clothes for them that have no pictures, words etc. It’s almost impossible.
This thrift store is so nice! I would thrift more it there wasn't only junk where I live.
I just love your channel! I'm getting married in 1,5 years and we are just going to let God give us children how he wants. I'm so exited and already try to learn as much now 😍😍
Its so cool that you have thrift stores on that side of the world.in this part of South Africa we just give everything away to the homeless and i truely think its time the start thinking differently
Almost all of the clothes from my 2 year old daughter are thrifted and I love the hunt 🤗
Loved this! Id love to see a prep for baby video like for momma & the hospital or secret tips and tricks!
She's having a home birth :)
