La rondine (The Swallow) is a song by Angelina's father who died during a concert 10 years ago. It is the first time that Angelina celebrates Pino Mango and the lyrics seem to have been written for him: "even though you are my swallow who has gone away, you are my step into the void... the only love that I would relive... you are in the wrong sky." All Italians who watched the festival cried, you can't fully understand and btw... Pino one of the most beautiful voices of this country 🇮🇹

Fan fact, the orchestra that played this version of la rondine performed at Sanremo was the original one that composed Pino's track, so it's a full tribute on both sides, and they remembered Angelina when she was younger, probably 1 years old, cause Pino Mango took her with him to the studio when this song were in composing.

I grew up with Pino Mango's songs and I was very touched when he died on stage during a concert practically in front of the eyes of thirteen-year-old Angelina. Finding Pino in the extraordinary daughter is indescribable. So many tears but so much happiness. If really exist a heaven, there is a proud father of his daughter up there. Love from Italy ❤

I'll help you tidy up a bit...
1. Pino Mango (just Mango) was one of the greatest Italian singers, with an incredible vocal range. He died during a concert many years ago when Angelina was much younger.
2. Angelina's mother was a very good singer (incredible voice!!!) in a historic Italian group (Matia Bazar)
3. Angelina won the 2024 edition of the show "Amici di Maria de Filippi" and only towards the end did it become known whose daughter she was (so as not to influence the competition)
4. During the five evenings of Sanremo, one evening is dedicated to covers and Angelina decided to bring one of her father's most famous songs "La Rondine"
5. Now imagine what it must have been like to go up on the most famous, feared and followed stage in Italy for the first time at 22 years old and sing a song written and sung by your father...
we were ALL crying at home!!! it was a really, really emotional moment!!!!!

Leaving aside Angelina's incredible technique and bravery,
I believe it was an impossible feat for her not to cry while singing,
because at that moment Italy cried in unison.
I think this tribute will be etched into the pages of Sanremo's history
for a very simple reason:
when you listen again to her performance and understand the entire story behind it,
and reread the lyrics, you realize it almost seems as if she herself wrote "La Rondine" to her father,
despite her father having written it himself ten years prior.
I believe we witnessed a private conversation between a daughter who wants to speak to her father and,
unable to find the words, frees herself through song.
That's why the interpretation is absolutely genuine.
I want to clarify what you're seeing: in the 4th evening of Sanremo (before the final on the 5th) all artists perform with another song, not the one in contest, that is not new: it could be one of their own past songs, a medley of their best songs, maybe singing it in a duet with other artists, or could be a cover of somebody else, etc.
She performed a song of her more famous father who died on stage a bit more than 9 years before (during a charity gig, moreover). This could have been JUST an easy choice to move the audience to tears and take advantage of her famous father BUT she really reinterpreted it in a magnificent way... and while the song is originally talking about a lost love (flown away like a swallow - "the swallow" is the translation of the title), it's just impossible not to cry when she sings about this swallow flown away that in this case could be her father. Another kind of love, another way to sing this song, with a definitely different intensity and mood.
She didn't just lazily made the homeworks in a basic way... she made a delicate yet intense masterpiece. I'm in tears everytime I listen to it and I was not even a fan of her father (I'm usually into rock).
Plus she has an incredible stage presence and an unconventional beauty that simply hypnotized me.

Dispiace che Mango ( il padre ) sia stato uno degli artisti italiani più sottovalutati in assoluto ,un grandissimo artista ,con un anima bellissima,scomparso troppo presto . Bravissima Angelina ,canzone difficilissima ,non solo tecnicamente ma anche a livello emozionale . ❤️
E si può dire che la sua voce fosse unica. Sono rare le cover perché è difficile avvicinarsi alla sua vocalità
@@monicatronci1638se ci pensi però, questa cosa è profondamente sbagliata. Mi spiego meglio, una cover non deve emulare la voce del cantante, e non deve essere una replica a pappagallo della canzone originale (altrimenti è karaoke, non una cover). Una vera cover deve essere diversa dalla canzone originale, il cantante interprete la deve appunto interpretare a modo suo, rendendola sua, arrangiando la canzone in base alla sua voce, facendo modifiche, ecc, e ovviamente non deve andare a emulare la voce del cantante, al contrario deve proprio distaccarsi dall'originale. Una cover fatta da cantanti che si possano realmente definire tali, sarà sempre profondamente diversa e modificata su vari livelli rispetto all'originale, perché verrà totalmente reinterpretata per renderla personale (proprio come ha fatto Angelina). Se una cover è uguale all'originale, o se viene emulata la voce o la vocalità del cantante originale, significa che il cantante che sta facendo la cover ha totalmente sbagliato mestiere e non dovrebbe essere un cantante, perché per essere un vero cantante (e di conseguenza un artista) non basta avere una bella voce (altrimenti il 90%delle persone lo sarebbero), e come già detto, in quei casi non è una cover ma è solo karaoke. Capisco bene che questo sia un concetto che in tantissimi non conoscono perché la musica non è il campo lavorativo di tutti, quindi è normale che non tutti sappiano questo, però purtroppo molti pseudo-cantanti (ciarlatani che di cantanti non hanno nulla) riescono a continuare una carriera basata sul nulla perché le persone non hanno conoscenze musicali di questo tipo, quindi spesso a causa di ciò ci sono cantanti spettacolari che restano nell'ombra, e poi invece ci sono i pseudo-cantanti/ciarlatani che diventano famosi con canzonette ridicole e karaoke che spacciano per cover. Detto ciò, la scarsità di cover riguardanti Mango si ricollega in parte a questo, perché purtroppo gli artisti veri che potrebbero fare delle vere cover sono pochi, la maggioranza dei cantanti sono persone mediocri che non sanno nemmeno cosa stanno facendo sul palco, senza contare il fatto che ormai la musica in Italia è per buona parte musica spazzatura, perché vanno virali solo le canzonette da tormentone estivo, e in pochissimi (soprattutto tra i giovani) vogliono canzoni vere e impegnate, quindi fare cover di un certo livello può risultare addirittura dannoso per la fama di alcuni (soprattutto perché il genere di musica di Mango è totalmente diverso dal genere del 95% dei cantanti attuali). Attualmente le cover delle sue canzoni possono funzionare solo se cantate da Angelina, perché essendo la figlia diventa una roba virale per tanti motivi, oltre al fatto che Angelina è diventata una moda anche essendo sua figlia, ma a livello musicale è un genere che ai giovani attualmente non interessa, è un genere che non fa ascolti. Può fare ascolti solo con persone da una certa età in poi o con una certa cultura musicale, ma la musica italiana punta alla viralità dei social, alle mode del momento e ai giovani, e purtroppo questo esclude questo tipo di cover perché non interessano quelle categorie. Ripeto, attualmente solo Angelina può fare cover del padre senza rischiare la carriera, ma addirittura con la possibilità di essere ancora più famosa perché la farebbe diventare ancora più virale e chiacchierata, ma per tutti gli altri cantanti sarebbe un rischio troppo grosso di perdere tutto, o addirittura magari di essere visti come irrispettosi nei confronti della figlia o potrebbero fare dei paragoni mettendo i cantanti in situazioni scomode, dato che sono le canzoni del padre di Angelina. Il mondo della musica è più complesso e malato di ciò che immagini, da fuori si vede e si percepisce solo l'1% e basta un nulla per finire fuori gioco...e parlo proprio per esperienza in questo campo lavorativo
@@ishtar8683 sì. Hai ragione. Non mi riferivo all'imitazione vera e propria, ma alla capacità vocale dai toni alti. Un po' conosco i dietro le quinte del mondo della musica anche perché il mio partner è batterista e suona anche altri strumenti e ha diverse formazioni jazz, blues e altri generi ma a livello locale anche se molto bravi. L'industria della musica soprattutto in questi ultimi Sanremo è fatta di views, lo so, e non sopporto questo annunciare views e premi prima di annunciare il cantante in gara

Everytime i ear this song sing it from her, i automatically cry, is something that i just cannot control.
Her technique is simply amazing, her performance was stunning, every Italian watching the context that night jumped from the seat. The lyrics are even more important if we think her father wrote and sang the song and now it looks like is a perfect dedication to him ("you are in the wrong sky"), who died in front of her 10 years ago

It's not "You know of the north wind". The verb is mistranslated. It is "You taste like a wind from the north, you taste good but not of us (you don't taste like us)"
or "smell".
Penso che sia fatto apposta, sia per la metrica, ma anche per includere tutti questi significati. Il sapere, inteso come "taste", ha una concezione più carnale che assocerei ad una canzone cantata ad un amante non costante e sfuggente. Il sapere inteso come "know", è più universale. Chiunque decida di non far parte del tuo mondo che sa di cose meravigliose, va in giro, ma non sa cosa vuol dire veramente essere come te o un "noi". Ed infine sapere inteso come "smell", è più figurativo. Non so se hai mai avuto gatti. Ma quando c'è una giornata di tramontana e i gatti rientrano dal giardino/balcone, si portano dietro un odore passandoti accanto che saprei descrivere solo come di vento. Nel caso della "Rondine", ho in mente questa immagine della rondine per l'appunto che tornando a primavera dalla sua migrazione, con un volo in picchiata ti sfiora il viso lasciandosi dietro il profumo dei suoi viaggi. Ma di nuovo, la rondine è passeggera, non può rimanere accanto a te per sempre.
