Yep that's the room, have fun :D" Hollywood :"That sounds evil..." Anubis :"Huh ? Wait what ? No I just work here."
Nah that wouldn't happen like that 😅 The maximum that could've happened is "Anubis declined Scorpion King's offer as the King's soul will already be his after death"
To those pissing about how Anubis was portrayed in this movie: first of, the term Dark God, doesn't mean evil, Anubis was a god who guides the dead to Afterlife, in the world of shadows and souls. Second, he isn't portrayed as evil here, Scorpion King made a pact with Anubis to spare his life so he can conquer his enemies. Scorpion King was evil, and he offered his soul in exchange of power. It wasn't said Anubis wants to rule the world. He lend his Army to Scorpion King as part of the pact. When Scorpion King conquered his enemy, Anubis forced him to surrender his soul and power back, and took his army back as well making sure it won't cause any more problems to anybody. He just followed what they agreed. In return, Scorpion King will be his servant, meaning Anubis doesn't need to guide him, but instead he will be a servant.
@Elessar King huh? You mean the Anubis Army? Because they literally look mad and scary and screaming all the time. That's basically how they communicate. 😂
They describe Anubis army as an "evil flood" LOL That's partly why people are angry. The implication still stands, even if you understand that dark can mean things other than bad. In the narration itself is aligns Anubis with being evil by saying his army is evil.
@@despair_ts1823 The Angel of Death within Abrahamic religions is remarked as a dark angel; yet, he isn’t evil. His job is just dark and grim (grim reaper). This can be applied directly to Anubis as well.
To all the people talking asking why Anubis is so commonly portrayed as evil or dark, my guess is that it's the same reason Hades is portrayed as evil in modern media. People are afraid of death so they assume that the gods who rule over it are evil and cruel.
@@akshaykumarjha9136 He is either the son of Osiris and Nepthys (sets Wife) and half brother of Horus the younger in the Osiris myth. Or he is the son of Ra and brother of Set and Horus the elder in old kingdom and predynastic texts.

Mephistopheles on the other hand got betrayed by 2 of his own ghost riders and even got killed by his latest ghost rider Johnny. Guess that's Hollywood , making an Egyptian God look smarter than a demon lord of hell.
I can see Set giving this guy an army, but not Anubis. Anubis was impartial and fair, never going out of his way to cause more death. Even if he did, he would have to listen if Osiris told him to stop. But Set was far more chaotic. Even if we ignore all that, the man was near death already and bound to the scales of Duat, Anubis would receive him faster if he did nothing. Plus, just by proposing such a deal, the Judges of Duat would condemn him.
Let me get this straight: He lost after seven years of warfare. He makes a pact with Anubis whom lend his army to him that seems took no longer than 30 seconds to conquer the damn place that his original army was defeated just like that?
I'll give you guys some actual movie and historical context: The only reason Anubis accepted the scorpion kings soul is because he was near death. And as he was not dead yet, Anubis could not take his soul to the otherside so he offered him a second chance but the king took advantage and compelled the gods army. Anubis is one of the wisest and most important gods of ancient Egypt and he has never liked the act of war and so in this movie, he wishes to teach a lesson to the scorpion king...No matter how powerful or how many soldiers you hold , there will always be a force stronger in the near future (rick O'Connell).
Dang, I never thought of it that way. That's actually really clever way to explain why the benevolent god Anubis would give the Scorpion King that kind of offer.
@Dick Trickle yes i am aware of that circumstance. there was no way to tell who would kill the scorpion king, hence why a prophecy was made about the one who wears a medjaii tattoo. Adet Bai mentions the true power of fate
After all these years, I don't understand one thing. Wasn't Scorpion king an Akkad?. The Akkadian had their own religion, beliefs and gods. So why Scorpion king called Anubis for help and not Akkadian gods?. Also, Anubis isn't an evil deity
Is this really showing him as evil? You could argue that he is simply taking someone up on an offer. They offer there service/soul for a chance at defeating there enemies. Of course one could argue they pillaged cities etc. but that isn't really "evil" on Anubis part.

Only a true Dragon ball Z fan Will say that...😂
Lord Beerus is a cat.
BTW, you forgot to say "Lord".
PFFFTTTTT GOOD ONE!!
Sabin Gurung..lmao
People here complaining about Anubis being evil forgetting that Imhotep himself was made a bad guy, treacherous to his pharoah, yet was one of the greatest minds of his time and helped Egyptian society and became incredibly honored after his death.
Anubis :"OK so the room to measure your sin and your good deed is over there to the left. And when you done, walk out and look to the far left. Yeah that's the toilet, next to the toilet to the end of that hallway is the way to the after life in the right door, and if you haven't got the key for that door, then turn left for the door to punishment. Yep that's the room, have fun :D"
Hollywood :"That sounds evil..."
Anubis :"Huh ? Wait what ? No I just work here."
Anubis army were destroyed by Thanos snap...😂😂😂
Even though I like Imhotep, I wish I could've seen Apocalyse or Thanos beat the shit out of him.
No
2:26, Mr imotep, I don't feel so good.
actually it was Iron Man
Marvel copied from Scorpion King. Bunch of hacks.
2:11 I just recognized Anubis behind the Scorpion King, taking his soul.
Enjoyed this years ago
same
Nobody talks about how the bracelet had the sorceress powers in it.
"All of this will be explored in its own movie!"
*After watching the scorpion king*
"Okay so when does any of this happen!?"
*Before anubis = human*
*After Anubis = CGI* xD
😂🤣
😂😂
Once a hero, now fallen from grace.
“Anubis accepted his offer and gave him the Blades of Chaos…..oh wait”
Anubis' army was badass af, not gonna lie. And scary.
Time traveler- nudges chair
1:47- “The Scorpion King have Anubis command of his army” 1:39
Nah that wouldn't happen like that 😅
The maximum that could've happened is "Anubis declined Scorpion King's offer as the King's soul will already be his after death"
you live enough to see yourself becoming evil or rather die as a hero
That's what happened to the Scorpion King
Astarte must’ve been really pissed when Anubis claimed Mathayus before her.
Mathayus should have become Astartes undead and not aging toy boy instead of becoming slave of Anubis and getting bad CGI
Anubis did him so much pain that he ended up looking like a cartoon...
Og anubis was basically hades
@Elessar King huh? You mean the Anubis Army? Because they literally look mad and scary and screaming all the time. That's basically how they communicate. 😂
They describe Anubis army as an "evil flood" LOL That's partly why people are angry. The implication still stands, even if you understand that dark can mean things other than bad. In the narration itself is aligns Anubis with being evil by saying his army is evil.
Isn't Dark the equivalent of evil tho?
@@despair_ts1823 The Angel of Death within Abrahamic religions is remarked as a dark angel; yet, he isn’t evil. His job is just dark and grim (grim reaper). This can be applied directly to Anubis as well.
To all the people talking asking why Anubis is so commonly portrayed as evil or dark, my guess is that it's the same reason Hades is portrayed as evil in modern media. People are afraid of death so they assume that the gods who rule over it are evil and cruel.
We never can't see this quality good movies
Anubis wasn’t evil. His Father Set was evil, but luckily Anubis was good like his Mother.
Dang I thought Anubis was Horus' brother and son of Osiris and Isis. I didn't know he was the child of Set.
@@akshaykumarjha9136 He is either the son of Osiris and Nepthys (sets Wife) and half brother of Horus the younger in the Osiris myth. Or he is the son of Ra and brother of Set and Horus the elder in old kingdom and predynastic texts.
This is where you realize that Anubis was smarter than Mephistopheles from Ghost Rider . When Anubis made the deal he made sure everything was under control . Mephistopheles on the other hand got betrayed by 2 of his own ghost riders and even got killed by his latest ghost rider Johnny. Guess that's Hollywood , making an Egyptian God look smarter than a demon lord of hell.
Mephistopheles is real dumb compared to Anubis
God of War devs loved this so much they took the idea and made into an epic trilogy
1:51 When your enemy can just climb those hella high walls it's not fair anymore.
Plus, just by proposing such a deal, the Judges of Duat would condemn him.
man these kinda old movies are way more fun to watch and way way more beautifully created than the movies theses days ,,,,
Let me get this straight:
He lost after seven years of warfare. He makes a pact with Anubis whom lend his army to him that seems took no longer than 30 seconds to conquer the damn place that his original army was defeated just like that?
To be fair, his new army couldn't be killed
FFS, they just showed the ending of the fight. 🤦♂️
Or did you expect to see all 3 days of fighting in a 2 hour movie ?
@@anonymususer1728 it would dragged on the intro bit too long.
An undead army given by a god? Yeah. I can believe that particular army could overtake any army ever in 30 seconds.
The scorpion screams in terror 🤣🤣
The first two "The Mummy" movies are greatest Egyptian movies of all time in my opinion.
So basically what your saying is the scorpion king took advantage of anubis kindness? It actually makes sense really and also quite ironic in a sense
Didn't they worship the Mesopotamian gods and goddesses?
I'm sure his autocorrect fucked the word 'deity' xD
Is this really showing him as evil? You could argue that he is simply taking someone up on an offer. They offer there service/soul for a chance at defeating there enemies. Of course one could argue they pillaged cities etc. but that isn't really "evil" on Anubis part.
@vin 950 lol I literally teared up in laughters because of this thank you
Fucking hate when i buy evil milk. Ruins my day
