Sadaar pranaam sir. This rendition is completely flawless. On a personal level I feel since this a 'mehfil,' he has all the rights to tell his audience, educate them of what he is singing. As far as his singing is concerned, it has neat rendition, diction which most of the times is not a quality in many..somehow I feel that this is an open-air performance wherein 'sur' or 'taan' can go a little hey-why.. I am writing this comment while listening him sing and he undoubtedly is an ustad!!!!!

There is some thing special in Pakistan for singers that they become artists beyond class, I can name various names, like Amir Khan, Asad Amanat , Hamid Khan and this list is too big. Does not matter where they belongs to but what matter he has gone through immense practise and pain to become some one loved across globe and may be beyond our galaxy. I love to write my heart and mind for musicians who are legend. One is Bade Gulam Ali, when he sings then he do not care and bothered about world but just sings, now no one can the level of Bade Gulam Ali. He was king in singing which his mustech also send indication. New learner just touch his feet in frame and start learning singing, and he will succeed.

It is amazing for Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan to sing the darbari kanada...and acknowledge that his gharana is sham chourasi gharana and then goes on to say it is based on Dhrupad style.(..a 2000 year old tradition arriving out of devotional form of singing from the Vedic period..).it is highly advanced and probably the highest art forms of our civilization... a complex and tough form apparently it activates the chakras. Darbari is not a Raag to showcase one’s taiyari. It requires a meditative approach. This kind of treatment is an insult to this majestic Raag.
