    We always had a jet sled growing up. Didn’t come from a hunting family but always used it to haul square bales during the winter to the horses & used to haul sticks & weeds out of the yard.
    Recently started duck hunting & bought a jr. to take into a walk in area which is about 1.7 miles to the hole. Used it for the 1st time the other day, worked great.

    This season...
    Put two full size does in the sled and pulled by a 4 wheeler (1/4 mile).
    Pulled a full size buck out of woods by myself (1/4 mile) through waist and shoulder high weed/field. Buck in the sled road home in back seat of Camry (my hunting truck).
    Filled it with all my gear from deer camp and was able to pick up and load into a utility van.

    Awesome! I've used a Paris Expedition sled for many years (20+), just bought another one last fall. SO much easier than dragging, and I've never wanted a cart. I also have a couple 2X10's cut to fit my truck bed, one end with a 45° angle, for better angle at bed heighth. Always eyed the jet sled for ice fishing, I'm going to have to get one how-to Thanks👍

    What do you think is easier in a swamp or marsh where there is a lot of muck & swamp grass. Packing them out or the jet sled? I would probably be a mile back or more..... Also, have you tried the bigger 66" long Jet sled? I'm wondering if it would be easier pull than the regular size because of the added surface area or if it wouldn't be worth the added width & weight (21 lbs). I'm thinking about using it for deer in the 180-200 lb range.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 роки тому +1

      I could go both ways on this. Jet sled works great in the swamps. Packing is also fantastic except in the Peet bogs and marshes with alot of roots and bad footing. Trying to walk thru those with a pack full of meat is a injury waiting to happen.
      I dont think a sled bigger than the js1 or original as it was called before is adding any value. The bigger size will snag more and the extra weight to drag will be noticeable. Plus the bigger one will take up valuable space in your truck
