Cajun seasoning isn’t even that spicy, I’d say it’s a 3/10 on the spice scale as far as American food goes. Meat
      You can eat the meat from the claws, legs, and body. You can use a crab cracker, nutcracker, or mallet to crack the claws and then use your fingers or a pick to remove the meat.
      Yellow mustard
      The yellowish-brown substance inside the crab, also called the hepatopancreas, is an organ that filters out toxins and is considered a delicacy. It's generally safe to eat as long as the crab is from non-contaminated waters.
      Liver
      The greenish stuff in the center of the crab's body, called the tomalley, is edible and many people enjoy it.
      Roe
      If you have a female crab, the bright orange stuff inside is the roe or eggs, also called "coral" in shellfish. You can eat it warmed and served on toast, in crab cakes, or in crab soups.

    They all looked extra dead😬, are they different from blue crabs? In N.C. we won't eat a dead crab. Unless i know it died within the past couple of hours🙅🏾‍♂️ its a no-go because they build up bacteria quickly. Seafood food poisoning is brutal😭

    The most dangerous thing about these small crabs or any small crabs in general is the extremely painful poops that you will have. I remember this one time I couldn't poop for days and when I finally felt the stool it was super hard and wouldn't come out. My anus bled like a river that day to get it out even with magnesium citrat and stool softener. So eat these with caution and add loads of fats and fiber

    I’m not a seafood person so idk how these things work…but if you eat them whole do you taste the intestinal & digestive tract and it’s uhhhh…byproducts? Like I know you remove the poop line on a raw shrimp before eating, but how does that go with crabs?

    We cook ours the same way ,big deep fryer but with water 💦 I near lost a finger one day 😂I reached in to grab a really big mud crab 🦀 and it had got out of its string tie lol 😂 we had to cut its claw off my finger nail with a pair of big concrete tying pliers lol 😂 but then it fell to the floor and grabbed my little dog by the face 😤with its other big claw 😳my brother in law was in hysterics but I was not 😂

  • @FrauTodd
    @FrauTodd 3 місяці тому

    Were those already cooked? Doesn't look like it. The reason I ask, is because its extremely dangerous to eat crabs that weren't cooked immediately after death. This is why so many people cook them while their still alive.

    Shell softness has a lot to do with recency of moulting, maybe a couple days in shipping gives time to harden
