For one year, how much money would you recommend to have saved up for spending? And for one year how is the best way to get funds transferred there?
Grimah hey men, well the best way is to paid in cash but a lot of people are scare or not comfortable carrying a lot of money. So in that case the second option is to make a International Bank Transfer, normally the Banks charge around 35 usd but it depends of your bank. So ask your bank before doing this transaction. Almost every student do it like that.
And for the expenses, it really depend of each person, but between $100 usd and $200 usd a month is more than enough. I spend 30 or 40 dollars a month but I don’t buy almost anything, just the necessary.
But other students spend 150 dollars in one weekend :/ But basically the city of Qufu is cheap and the food is cheap!
does the school serves lunch ? or those 30 or 40 dolars tha you spend was with all the meals incluse ? i'm thinking that i"ll just like you , spend just with the necessary ...!!! thank's a lot !!!

I'm planning to go to china learning kungfu.... Maybe in Shandong....
But I need a JW202 document to get a long (or short) term student visa (X1 / X2 visa). None of the schools I'm in contact with can provide me that DAMN document. So question : how did you get your long term visas ?
Maybe you went there with a tourist visa (L) which was extended in China ?

Heya. Contact your preferred school and tell them when you are planning to travel+your personal information of course. They will then send you an invitation letter via mail, which you can then place in with your Visa application. Apply for a tourist Visa. You can then extend it in China, often 3 months at a time. That costs money. More if you're an American. Perhaps this helps you. Please don't shoot the messenger. ^^

Can I ask what software you used for your typography, and is it hard to use? Eg, something you need to have some training in; I know you're like a graphic designer or something in that area, do you need that sort of training in order to utilities it?

Well the perfect program to do that is Adobe After Effects, but now, in these days there are some amazing Apps where you can create great things in a few minutes like Quik, Alive or Spark video, these app will help you a lot, you just need a good phone. Take care.

Dani - this might sound like a weird question but I heard from a former student that students should bring toilet paper with them to China. Is this something you recommend? And, if so, how many rolls? :-) I think I will be at the school for at least 3 months and maybe up to 6 months. Thank you!

OF COURSE DON'T BRING any toilet paper! or if you want to bring a full bag of toilet paper for 6 month go for it! imagine when you go to the airport and they open your bag and they ask you, why do you bring a full of the bag with toilet paper? What do you answer? Maybe you should say, that is for my next 6 month of shit in China!!
Ok, now seriously, don't bring any toilet paper, you can buy it in the school or around the school or in the supermarket or in any store, they have them in different sizes and textures!! and is very cheap, 12 rolls are around 2 dollars depending on the quality.
