  • I recently entered an indoor bouldering competition at Volume 1. I haven't entered a competition for many years, so it was really fun to test myself in a competition style bouldering session.

    Hannah you are so relatable! I enjoy watching you try one method, then another and another. This is reality for most normal climbers. We don’t walk up to the wall and instantly know what to do. It is encouraging watching a non pro try hard and have fun.

      It's especially refreshing to see someone not beating problems just with pure muscle or by being overly tall.

    You'd be surprised at how few examples there are of competent, technique-focused climb videos that show people climbing on V1-V3. It's so nice to look at the technique's you'd use on walls like that, that I'm actually capable of. Really gives me something to think about/aim for when I'm bouldering next!!!

      Haha right! I did see lots of people do it by basically piggybacking the hold koala style but I played it safe with the full leg wrap. 🐨

      I was thinking the same thing! The hold looks super cool i wonder how they have used it differently on different climbs!

    Really cool watching you try these comp climbs, and think about how I would do them as someone with a different body shape. Good camera angles. Good charisma.
    And yet... I don't understand why the music was sad. Climbing always makes me think of the climax of action movies. It's exciting and cool!

    By the way, I had no idea what advice to give when you were asking for it, however here as I've been climbing 3 months of only slabs one handed because I hurt my left arm, I couldn't help but think: on the traverse 24 at 17:18, you may want to try to go left foot where you put your right foot, so that when you launch right arm you can use your right foot on the wall to stop pivoting. :)

    • @hannahmorrisbouldering
      @hannahmorrisbouldering  2 роки тому +4

      I managed to get this climb the other day and I managed to make the right foot work, but because I had the momentum you mentioned when I launched, I had to bring my left leg into a back flag behind me to brace and it definitely felt like being able to switch feet would have been an easier way of doing it - well read! ☺️☺️

    How long did it take to do the boulders? And how long did you rest in between i find if I’m climbing hard i can only do 3-5 boulders before my arms are toast! Maybe I’m just not resting enough? Would love to do a 25 Boulder session my body is just not quite there, sooo any tips for gaining endurance? Love the videos awesome climbing
