Everytime, every single version of this song, when I hear "I've seen you around... What's your name?" I get chills, such a simple thing
Yeah, I don't know if you're supposed to think he made up the whole story while glancing at the woman and then says that line? I think many people do similar things when inspired especially on the public transport..............
My absolute favorite song. The mistakes makes the performance more intimate. Fucking love this guy.

I saw him at Cains Ballroom (Tulsa) and I brought my 11 year old sister for her first concert. Needless to say, she was the youngest one there. One of the times Josh started to talk to all of us she asked me to put her on my shoulder so she could say hi to her favorite folk artist. So he caught a glimpse of her and started laughing, and we all had a mini conversation. He said I was the greatest brother in the world and that I was guaranteed to get laid. Just thought I'd share
i just flew from RDU to OKC then drove to Tulsa to see Fleet Foxes. Cains is a great venue.
Tulsa is a great city too.
Was there and witnessed that :) I think someone must have that on video somewhere ;)

... Will. Your "Just thought I'd share" deserves so much more of a positive response, it's blowing my mind right now. I am not a post random replies to old comments kinda person, but this is also a more than just another thumbs up kinda story, so...
Kudos to you wherever you are now for kicking ass in the big brother role what an epic story for a kid sister! Seriously. Tillman at age 11?... She's gonna be light years ahead of the game.
Concerts were part of my childhood. Then I got to take my sister to her first show. It's one of the things I'll always feel super lucky about... Falling in love with live music.
Cheers to a future filled with making the kinda memories that can define You. I'm glad you shared. ✌
Well, was he right? 👀
How can a mistake make a beautiful song even more enjoyable?????
Do you want me to fucking CRY Joshua? DAMMIT JOSHUA
Beautiful version. Love how quiet the crowd was
This is what makes him a consummate performer. He can handle things like a memory lapse, ad lib, and it makes you love him even more.
I was at this show. It was beautiful. He had an apple on the corner of the stage. I'm guessing to poke fun at the "fall of man" tale. I had never heard this song prior, and was floored, by the lyrics. I'll never forget this night.
His single best piece of work in my opinion.
Why doesn't he perform this more often? I've seen him three times, and he didn't perform it at any of the shows. I'm praying he will at the next one
maybe he won't. either way, everything will be ok :)
Didn't he divorce his wife? And I'm pretty sure he made this song for his wife, I'm not sure. Maybe I've heard things
Greatest love-song of all time. Also made me think of "Something" Beatles (George Harrison)
The lyrics are so simple and beautiful I'm emotional
This song has brought me to tears a few times.
Everything about this performance is just beautiful
I was there. What a beautiful night
Beautiful
"... the perfect lyric..." indeed :)

@@dotmatrix3157 hey babe
fucking great

Pretty funny when he forgot the lyrics. This is one of my fave FJM songs.
Whats even better is that the audience loves him even more because of it. Greatest performer, composer, artist since Joni Mitchell.
@@Greg07623 Yep, really looking forward to the new album.
And to think he played drums and sang background vocals for Fleet Foxes. Their debut album is a modern classic. But Josh Tillman ultimately flew so much higher.
How does he know exactly how hard to hit every string
Expected to hear myself reminding him of the lyrics "this isn't true love..." guess there wasn't a mic close enough. Now I'll never be famous.
But you will continue to create your infamous legacy...
Yes, known far and wide for the youtubiest of comments. It is better to be feared than loved.
I heard it ! With headphones haha
Just bad 🍷
