these games rock dude. even the dialogue and sound effects are better than many games put out today. when weapons are clashing and arrows are hitting armored targets you feel the impact. nothing causes more pain than hearing the word "casualty" knowing that one of your named and reoccuring warriors who is gaining xp every mission hes in has just been cut down in battle
They weren't remade or remastered officially because after the third one some shit went down and the rights to the series are divided among three separate groups :(
I remember being 12 and saving up the $10 I needed to buy Myth: The Fallen Lords from my local Ocean State Job Lot. Ever since Myth has become my #1 favorite tactics series.
are there any games where you have to actually plan how to cross a river? and not simply walking over it... any game like you have to build a raft or a temporary bridge of sorts? that would be cool to see
I remember my dwarves yelling “Leeroy jeennnkins!!!!”, throwing explosives into a mob of enemies fighting my warriors, and then the narrator says “casualties” As my own warriors were blown apart lol
It was great seeing this game after so many years. Forgot how punishing this game was when there is bad postion " casualties " 😂😂 Thank you for shairing this
Esse jogo era excelente na sua época. Cara, isso é anos 90 e olha a qualidade. Essa rotação de câmera, esse gore, essa "física", são pontos sem precedentes naquele tempo (Myth, Myth II).
I always liked playing the ambush levels...in this game, on a hillside, in the next, in mountain paths...I liked seeing how many of the enemy I could take out with how few losses of my own. And knowing the only goal was to keep them away, and that primarily consisted of blowing them up and raining arrows down on them. Awesome.
I did the same - and we got rewarded for having no losses because the warriors and archers with more experience and kills were better fighters! Genius game
Incase nobody has noticed everything is about perspective. This game has the fun factor if given the chance and appreciation of the game was greater back then the perspective wasn’t so critical like now in my opinion 95% of games now and then are really good if given a chance. I have learned to appreciate these older games it’s like the creators were having fun making these older titles.quality over quantity ❤
I look now at the gameplay and i find it silly , the graphics and everyhting. But 20 years ago when i played this.. oh my god it was one of the most captivating games i played. I absolutely loved it. This deservers a remake
My dad used to play this and I tried once but I was so young and stupid I couldn’t figure it out. I figured I’d check out what all the hype was about and although video games don’t interest me anymore I wanted to see what had his interest way back in 1999
Few games had me on edge like this. Back when I enjoyed serious challenges which had consequences. Today it's too easy to rectify mistakes short of intentional foolishness. I guess that's why the interest in the Souls-like games - Unforgiving.
an absolute masterpiece of a game...this and fallen lords were incredibly immersive experiences....even to this day

Myth 1 & 2 are probably the best games ever to NEVER have had a re-release for 25 years.
I have no freaking idea why.
Can you imagine this game with a modern overhaul, inventory, skills, etc?
They weren't remade or remastered officially because after the third one some shit went down and the rights to the series are divided among three separate groups :(
Also some of the best modding ever. Project Magma and some Vietnam war themed mod total conversion that I played for hours and hours.
Especially considering that they are still popular. Their online forums kept going for like 15 years!
What a game this was.. dam the old days of gaming were great
So many good memories. Playing the game with a friend all night back in the day.
gtm baby and civil
I played this in 1999 and I can't forget this
Come to my channel if you want to check out the multiplayer Myth 2 gameplay spanning 3 decades !

I used to name my troops. Few of them stayed with me till the end.
Casualty.
Casualty.
Casualties.
Screen goes dark. Fuuuuuuu
This phrase has lived rent few in my head for 20 years 😂😂
Nostalgic --- Wish they remake this game
With way more responsive controls, better unit AI, and improved pathfinding. I would get so frustrated with my dwarves blowing our own units apart.
The music the story the art everything was on point. Truly a marvel for its time.
this is a very great great game,20 years after still looks artistic
Gameplay is good too now games are churned out with no soul
@Ike but no Mike hey i think i played this game to did we had a training mode where we had to use the archers to kill the dummis in a field ?
Played this with my trusty 3DFX video card back in the day! I think it was the Voodoo 2.
We needed a 'Direct X' the way tech was evolving. We had paragraphs of fine print to look at making sure if we could run stuff back then.
STILL PLAYING THIS GAME ...2022 😊
16:00 cool architecture... 3D for terrain + 2D for sprites... the perfect mix
27:40 crossing the river

This game was so fucking epic. It could have displaced starcraft 2 so easily but they just didnt continue :(
My vote for greatest PC game of the modern era(32 bit and beyond).
I remember my dwarves yelling “Leeroy jeennnkins!!!!”, throwing explosives into a mob of enemies fighting my warriors, and then the narrator says “casualties”
As my own warriors were blown apart lol
Jon God's detail textures go so far to make this game still look pretty in HD in 2021.
It was great seeing this game after so many years. Forgot how punishing this game was when there is bad postion
" casualties "
😂😂
Thank you for shairing this
A wonderful game. Great character classes, storyline and narration. A true work of art.
God I miss this game
man i loved this game and its awesome cut-scenes. I was a kid when this series launched,

Game was ahead of its time. Just like crysis
Ah the memories! I also loved the Vietnam conversion pack.

why hasnt this legend of a game been put on steam yet?
I was in love with this game when I was a teenager
I wish they would create someting new set in this universe.
Me too!
Take a look around and ask yourself... do we really want that?
now i started to remember my childhood days.
I will have to load this game up on one of my vintage computers. I love this game.
I sometimes rewatch this gameplay.. kinda missing this game
anyone knows how to cross that bridge of the castle i always used to die .
For some reason i suddenly thought about this game.
My dad used to play this and I tried once but I was so young and stupid I couldn’t figure it out. I figured I’d check out what all the hype was about and although video games don’t interest me anymore I wanted to see what had his interest way back in 1999

I want to live in this game
Idk why but I always thought they had way better sound effects back then compared to now.
WW2 Mod was the absolute best mod ever.
"Move HERE,move THERE"
Get back up!
get away from me! help! stay away!
wow i used to love this game
Casulty. Casulty. Casulties. is burned into my memory
How did you get it to work in this resolution? I can only run it on software, yours looks like it runs on 3D.
THE FALLEN LORDS, SOULBLIGHTER AND THE WOLF AGE 👌
Would like a remake of this game...
This game had some much climax... ahh they don't make them like that now.
"I've got a wife and kids, millions of kids!"
I rediscovered this game by searching for "which windows rts game had bloody explosions"
I searched "what rts mid 2000s had voice that said casualties" 😂😂 the year's wrong but it was close enough!
i searched game with zombies skeletons and knights and the drwarves threw fire balls lol
Now recent time 03 05,, i remember there was a game that says "casualty, casualty" , so i found it.
Same!! That and the 2D trees that always face you was my main memory of this game 😂
would this game go to windows10 without virtualbox?
You.. You skipped the narration! What have you done! Philistine!
i love these sprites!!!!!!!!!!!!
So..how do i play this on win 10?
I don’t know how to play this game on a laptop. Can someone tell me how??
This game great
Is there a way to buy this game somewhere in digital version?
Nope. Take 2 owns the rights and for some reason refuses to do a re-release.
@@bahlalthewatcher4790 thats a pity, Myth 2 was one of my favourite strategy games of all times…
