Although JAG is initially a Short Service Commission post, it can be converted into permanent commissions at the expiration of 10yrs, depending on your work performance and the number of vacancies. And only those candidates who either fail to qualify or choose not to go for permanent Commission, are offered the chance to undergo additional 4yrs of service.
