This was a real sleeper on that album. By far one of his best songs but seemed to be included on the B side as an afterthought. My favorite piece of piano music from that era and an incredibly tragic lyrical masterpiece by Bernie T.
What a powerful song! Bernie's inspired lyrics interwoven with Elton's voice and piano. This song is so poignant. To think it is only one of a string of masterpieces from a pair of composers at the height of their creative powers in the seventies. At their best i do not think their is anyone to better them.
What an amazing song. This song was written in 1974 hard to imagine when the words ring so true today. Thanks for posting, i have many friends who will enjoy this as much as i
I just recently heard this song within the month. It is such a great song and it was WAYYYYY before it's time. Think Columbine... this was before that happened and it was nearly the same! It's an amazing song.
Before it's time. Unfortunately no. Senseless violence and gun deaths have been part of our country for a long time. It is so sad that we still have it, more than ever.

Have ya' all ever considered that "The Cure is Worse than the Disease?" All these mass killings have involved Psychotropic drugs, except for the Islamic ones. What does that tell you?
One of my favorites by Elton... learned it around 1974 or 75. I don't think I ever heard it on the radio...
My favourite from Caribou. Very underrated. A masterpiece.
Very clever song, this. Elton's left hand providing the constant 'tick' by playing in octaves rhythmically adds great effect. Brilliant.
What an amazing song. The perfect mix of lyrics and music - I wish he would play this one more often at the live shows.

Always loved this song since Caribou. It's like a tragic, poignant beautiful movie. Outstanding lyrics and music and performance.
Elton’s best song
Tutta la mia vita 😍 nelle mani di questo straordinario cantante 😘Elton sei la musica ...!!!

Very emotional lyrics & sung so beautifully.
Absolutely superb.
You danced in death, like a marionette .... stunning lyrics
….don’t never ride on the devil’s knee, mama said. That line, too.
Elton's Magnum Opus
Absolutely fantastic !
Bernie T. Is a messenger Still, Does anyone really listen? Ticking.....
Excellent to see this on here thank you very much!
Nothing tops the original from the Caribou album. He is in fine form here but the piano playing on the original is beyond brilliant
Elton is Ticking whilst Scott is Picking....
Another gun shooting at an American high school last week: This song is more relevant now than it has ever been.
please, upload all your videos of this concert. great.
