Russian sources claim that the "encirclement" at the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant was actually a Russian commando operation to go behind enemy lines and attempt a cutoff of supply to the Ukrainians north of the river. Seeing how the Russians seem to have gained the plant seemingly overnight still hold the plant despite having little in the ways of a connection between the salient and the frontline, this would posit the notion that the Commando operation theory is correct.
Some other sources say that all these talks about "encirclement" started because of misunderstanding of one Telegram post. Where it was said that it was difficult to supply troops in the Aggregate factory (which is understandable, given the nature of urban combat and that positions may change hands many times). But, somehow, some people managed to make this one message into 400 soldiers encircled and surrendering.

The Russians are apparently doing well at remembering NATO is a gang tailored to surround them. The main reason they preserve their forces so carefully is that, if they go all out on Ukraine, they might be attacked from the Baltic Sea (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) and Caucasus (Georgia) directions. Seeing how the Russians seem to have gained the plant seemingly overnight still hold the plant despite having little in the ways of a connection between the salient and the frontline, this would posit the notion that the Commando operation theory is correct.
Anyone using the word "posit" automatically gets the comment liked. Also, what you say sounds logical too!
Some other sources say that all these talks about "encirclement" started because of misunderstanding of one Telegram post. Where it was said that it was difficult to supply troops in the Aggregate factory (which is understandable, given the nature of urban combat and that positions may change hands many times).
But, somehow, some people managed to make this one message into 400 soldiers encircled and surrendering.
Aside from the overt Nazi propaganda, a lot of the misinformation in this war the stems from hysterical civilians completely ignorant about war having no idea what they are actually seeing

The Russians are apparently doing well at remembering NATO is a gang tailored to surround them. The main reason they preserve their forces so carefully is that, if they go all out on Ukraine, they might be attacked from the Baltic Sea (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) and Caucasus (Georgia) directions. I don't expect to see them "be bold" as you put it. They will keep trying to grind down the enemy, presumably until there is practically no enemy left. That is when the "breakthrough" talks will be proved correct once and for all.
