Suggestion. A Set of indicator lights at the back of the vehicle. One set for each driver. 1 Light that lights up when you press forward, one that lights up when you press backwards. So either person knows without communication what you are pressing atm
The would have to implement two WS-converters, which is a pain... I hope Axolot one day implement that WS-input is also working on the controller when it is not set to continous rotation.
Imagine if Scrap Mechanic had some sort of open multiplayer option. You're at your base, or maybe exploring the map, when suddenly *a massive block of fruit crates speeds by full throttle*
for the wheels not fully contacting the ground instead of _laggy suspension_ you could just put a single bearing in the middle of each group of wheels so they can tilt forwards and backwards to try and stay im contact. it probably wouldn't be too laggy
I still say that the previous design was good, you just needed to raise the middle bit so it sits on top of the two end engines instead of having it touch the ground and being push+pulled.
Now you can easily mass transport a very large quantity of fruit, but what about mass transport of farmers? also, small suggestion for if you choose to have a higher amount of fruit crates is make it so the middle wheels can extend outwards to prevent tipping due to it being extremely top heavy
Split Brain Driving! I forget what other games I used to play that you could do this in but it man did it make for some of funnest multiplayer gaming ever.
I have an idea to help it turn better Kan, it might be slower but.... Put four wheels on bearings and pistons in each corner, when you need to turn, the piston pushes those wheels down, propping the other wheels off of the ground, and then only those 4 wheels contact the ground, allowing the creation to not have so much resistance while turning.
How do you have unharvested rock nodes? I've cleared all of mine within a 300-400 meter radius of my base... [EDIT ADD-IN] You could use the spud guns for sensor auto turrets... either for farm raids or your mini warehouse tank.
You should try painting your corresponding side green and blue! Also maybe a lever on a bearing hooked to the engine to visualise the forward/reverse inputs from each driver (like the controls sticks for driving an excavator!)
This vehicle has center point so I think oscillating axle (like one old tractors have) on front and back set would be good alternative for suspension lagwise and should keep most of the wheels on the road improving traction
Technically, arranging the crates into a pyramid shape 🔺️ is more stable than a brick shape, except that it'll be more difficult to get through those tight passes
If you want to fix the issue with the traction put suspension on just the front and back wheels trust me at all help. Another reason why will help is because you’re gonna be making so the center of the vehicle will be able to go into dips giving it more traction well going over weird t terrain
I'm at 3:50. I don't think this will work much better, and I think a walker would be have a much better chance at working. I think, that if you really just want to stick to using wheels, cause they're simple or something, but not a fixed in place track like a train, monorail or similar, then you should at least put bearrings on both sides of the wheels, and those bearrings should be connected to a stick, that also connects to the nearest wheel, and the sticks on each side of the wheels are connected to each other in the middle between the wheels, and both sides of the resulting "H"-shaped stick should be connected to bearrings, that are connected to the main part of the vehicle. This ensuses, that at least 8 wheels will always be in contact with the ground (obvious exceptions like if you flip upside down or the terrain has spikes all over the place). Also, move the wheels further apart, so tank stearing is more efficient. edit: The stuff with "H"-shaped sticks is basically suspension, but with bearrings instead of suspension. If done efficiently and in slightly more steps, all wheels will always be in contact with the ground in both sides, and it will only take around ([current bearring amount]×2-2) bearrings to work. edit2: (after watching the video) I was wrong about that vehicle being as terrible as the earlier version. You did modify it after 3:50, sos technically, I was not entirely wrong, but I don't think a basic walker would do better than the new version.
Something that helps when unloading a lot of crates at the trader is you can set up a water cannon at the button and have it auto press the button for Yas. Then don't have to sit at the button forever :)
You need suspension only on your center wheels so at that point those wheels will have more pressure against the ground hopefully allowing the vehicle to pivot on those wheels.
You guys should have the middle wheels set the lowest and the end wheels basically touching the frame so that you can still turn on the short wheel base but you have traction on hills thanks to the diamond shaped wheel layout
Do a tank 4 floors warehouse run, 4 mounted spud guns per player. No glitches, no saw blades or drills. Timed, fastest out with all contents of secret room wins. 1 minute penalty for any non mounted spud gun kills ( player weapons, enemy fire and vehicle takedowns ) If you could do the same warehouse, that would be the best benchmark. Have ScrapMan, J0hnbane or someone else for timing of the runs, so there's no possibility for reactions to give away the results. A side by side comparison would be the cherry on top!
I think better wheel placement would have fixed the traction problem. The outer wheels were high centering the vehicle making only 3-4 wheels touching, either raising up or adding suspension to the outer most wheels might make a difference when it comes to driving on uneven ground
I have an idea for how you could add suspension to the wheels. Use 1-2 pieces of suspension per bank of wheels instead of each individual wheel. That way you cut back on how many you use and there will be less potential to lag out the game. Plus the suspension will (for the most part at least) solve your issue of losing grip on hills.
The trader should have these trades added: 1 Broccoli, 1 Pineapple, 1 Banana = 256 Tier 3 Wood 1 Broccoli, 1 Pineapple, 1 Orange = 256 Tier 3 Concrete 1 Broccoli, 1 Pineapple, 2 Blueberry = 256 Tier 3 Metal 2 Broccoli, 1 Caged Farmer = Level 5 Gas Engine 2 Pineapple, 1 Caged Farmer = Level 5 Electric Engine 1 Pineapple = 3 Component Kits just my thoughts, I think metal should be more expensive because of its super high durability compared to the other 2 blocks.
This gives me a MPM idea: cars without steering (Maybe been done though) you can’t have steering bearings or thrusters, but you can use anything else to turn
Part of me wants to see this with castor wheels, like a giant shopping cart, the two middle most sets of wheels are the drive wheels while the ones on the ends are the swivel wheels which would give it better turning and just add a weird factor
Now that you have fixed spud gun do you think you could add automatic defense shooting along the fence making it like a electric fence with some sensors
Since you guys bought 8 mounted spud guns, make another 2 man vehicle but this time make it a tank and one person drives and the other mans the first person turret that is mounted with dual 1 tick mechanisms so you can blast through 80 spuds per second. Then just go gather up like 4 or 5 farmbots and mow them down like greenies LOL
what you need to do to get better stering is put full strankth suspenchen on the inner tires and make it so that the outer tiers arnt tuching when on flat ground.this will make it more of a squer contact on the ground making it tern better and more like a tank.
Don't try to take on more than 3 Haybots at a time.... things will not go well (unless u manage to hop ontop of ur lift, in whichcase u can just cheese the heck out of any number of them lol)
Next step, farm a ton of bananas so you can buy a ridiculous amount of mounted spudguns and make a OP new warehouse tank or 2 tanks and race thru the warehouse
Farm a billion potatoes, build a spud gatlin, and lay waste to the ember boss biome. Flatten all the trees, take out all the farmbots. One dude drives, the other sprays potats every which way without serious concern about hitting anything or not.
The problem is the front and back wheels are creating friction. so you want the pivot point closer to the center. you can use any combination of: 1. less wheels. 2. shorter/wider wheel base. 3. putting frictionless/low friction blocks on the front/ back on suspension instead of wheels. 4. putting a pivot point in the center 5. lifting up/ out the front or back wheels while steering. 6. tank steering
hey KAN it might help if you make like the front and a back on a free floating bearing in the middle and wheels on like a block and then in the middle could be you wheels getting only power because then your now fighting turning- now you probably wont see this but this is your solution -thanks
I dont remember which dude, but some youtube scrap dude made a small auto clicker machine for the Hideout's pump button, so you dont even need to leave your driver seat.
Suggestion.
A Set of indicator lights at the back of the vehicle.
One set for each driver.
1 Light that lights up when you press forward, one that lights up when you press backwards.
So either person knows without communication what you are pressing atm

It's a landship. An honest to sun landship. I want to see how much bigger it can get.
