I consider every boss fight in a game to be a sort of dance. Attack, predict, defend or dodge, repeat. A turn-based series of inputs between you and the enemy. Why am I saying this? Because despite the chaotic, frantic pace of this track, the final phase is more of a graceful 'dance' than any other phase to Brevon's fight. Especially with Lilac, who has the ability to phase through *any* attack in this phase with her diag-down twirl attack. Eventually, you reach a point where this isn't a boss fight against Brevon. It's a boss fight against YOU.
Exeller: Why won't you die? Care to see my full power? I believe your friends won't mind if I use them Tails: I'm not scared, I'm not scared... I can do this
heh this boss was no joke his first form was just as hard as the last time you fought that mech, mosly because any strategy you previously formed wouldn't work. and on top of that beating his last form is absolutely insane. I figured when I first played the game. oh breven seems to insta-kill everyone so he's probably more bark than bite. but he's actually tougher than his mechs. it really made me believe he was a one man army.
The Freedom Planet's Final Boss is one of the Best final boss that I has played, the epic music, the background and the dificult very challenging (I has played this Game on Hard)
Zero(jedi guardian James and sith Marauder fang): "brevon, your actions endangered the lifes of those you have killed and corrupted. If you don't surrender and hand over the kingdom Stone to this world, i'm will destroy you."
Final Boss 1 is the theme of someone who is prepared to the teeth to continue in his galactic domination. Final Boss 2 is the theme of someone who is _done with your shit._
Brevon figured out that the more archaic your weaponry is, the more intimidating and powerful you are. That’s just the way reality works. In FP2, he’s going to fight you with his bare fists and all his attacks will insta-kill you.
@@sonicandtails91 The difficulty scale in this game works by reducing the amount of punishment you can withstand. In hard mode, the final boss kills you in only 2 hits, and his attacks are extremely fast and precise.
Man... I find this fight really fun as Carol and lilac... too bad i can't get past the first phase as Mila due to how long it takes to get a consistent hit
That's what I was thinking. If Galaxytrailer makes a big success on FP2 then maybe they should team up with SEGA for a cross over one. Like "Freedom PlanetXSonic the hedgehog".
Well that's basically what it is. Freedom Planet borrows the best aspects of both games while adding it's own individual elements to it. It's easy to see the Megaman ZXA influences when it comes to the enemy design, the fast pace puzzles and the boss patterns, while it feels like a sonic game from it's multiple path level design, Lilac's Dragon Dash and the speed.
Decent "final" boss theme. Nothing crazy about it, but good overall. P.S: What I really like is that the final boss battle itself was "tough" and not "easy" as some final boss battles in other games.
It's not about how plainly epic the music is it's how well it fits the battle and lets look at this your in space long way from home already tried from having to fight everything else Brevon threw at you including the battle with Milla this theme is more of a distant kind of feel that has the tone of Lilac wanting her revenge and Brevon is throwing everything he has at you as for the first time he has been backed into a cornor.
I really wish his opening attack didn't reduce you to 1 hp on hard mode. Its really annoying that you pretty much instantly lose the fight if you don't react immediately to it.
You can jump out of the way or parry it. But regardless, all of his attacks are powerful and you're basically only allowed 3-4 hits for the entire battle.
Holey bloody mole, what a fight! You know, when I started this game, my first ever playthrough was hard mode because "normal and easy is for filthy casuals XD"... and when this fight happened... man did I felt like returning to normal mode just for this phase alone. (I still did it on hard mode and it was good) Sure, I had trouble with every boss and stage, resulting in like 4-8 lives being lost every level, some bosses kicked my heropants more than the others for being some stupid polar... panda girl with an ice stick or a mutant berserker giant snake man that had enough of my kung fu tricks... but this man alone gave me 70+ tombstones into my Lilac graveyard. But don't let this fool you, this... this is a good final boss. It might made me die... you know, a few times... but damn, that was fun! The fact that the final phase is literally him with no armor or mechs or whatever and all of his attacks are super duper fast is amazing. Besides the "screw you" opening attack, I just loved everything about this, the gun, the random mines, he just *Y E E T* you from time to time, and of course, the deadly knife. It's the perfect way how I would describe a final boss, the last challenge, and a damn hard one. I don't even need to say anything about the music because you're already hearing it right now, and you know how awesome it is. And after all that trouble and all the deaths... that final hit... oh that was satisfying! If you haven't already played Freedom Planet, I would seriously recommend to do it right now (or when a sale happens, I mean, I don't blame you), NOT ON HARD MODE ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH OF COURSE! It might not have the best story... or voice acting... but that gameplay AND THE MUSIC! AW MAN THE MUSIC! It's a very fun game. Sometimes even after getting all the achievements I still play it from this day. Because the game is just that fun.
Bro just leave you with one hp bar in a single hit 💀 Also breavon: pssst pssssssstt!... You see those lives you saved all the way? You gonna need them now 😈
I wish Brevon has his HARD difficulty battle on NORMAL, and on HARD mode he would have: -------------------------------- - You have to beat all boss forms per one time. If you're killed, you have to start from Turret Corridor sequence. *ZERO FORM: TURRET CORRIDOR* - Turret Corridor is larger and harder to pass, and can be considered as first actual form of final boss fight, or zero form. - Exit is blocked, to unlock it, you have to destroy all locks - crystal turrets. - Positions of crystal turrets are random. - Randomly, one of turrets can't be destroyed by your attacks, so it has to be destroyed by main turret fire. *FIRST FORM: ABSOLUTION* - Absolution now has random patterns of fire of big green laser shots and rockets. They have different frequency of shots. - Absolution can shoot laser beams and rockets at different height, not only where your character is. - Absolution now jumps much longer and can turn around, so you can't just simply stay behind its laser shots - it will find a way to aim at you, so you have to jump in gaps between laser beams. *SECOND FORM: MECHA ARMOR SUIT* - If you dodge Mecha Armor's crazy bouncing attack before it ends, he immediatelly turn back and moves to you again, so you have to dodge it more than one time until attack ends. - Green stars attack now affects floor too. You have to react and carefully jump through shots. *THIRD FORM: ARKTIVUS BREVON* - Brevon has very small health regeneration as act of revenge for Easy and Casual modes. - Brevon final form becomes more faster if his health is at critical condition. His lifebar becomes blickering at that time. - Brevon can take only specific amount of maximum damage in your single attack. So tactic when you use Dragon Boost near the wall in specific time, dealing with boss in two-three attacks, is not working anymore, since after reaching max damage value, he stops to get damage until your attack ends. - Brevon actually beheads you, after using knife attack during the fight or performing special death animation if your body is intact, leaving you and laughing like he did with King of Shuigang.. - Brevon can jump and use his knife attack in air. So, you need to jump over his knife attack when he is very close to you, not when he's on the other side of map and you hear his attention roar. Or you will be instantly punished. Though, it takes 3 health petals instead of 6. - Brevon's knife attack is more dangerous if you're standing right to him, in range of attack. It can instantly behead you, taking all of your possible health petals and even ignoring critical hit. Instant kill, with exception if you are having Shield. His very first attack at the beginning of battle also has the same ability, since he was really mad and wanted to end fight with just one strike. - You can't parry Brevon's knife with any of your attacks, even with Dragon Boost. He will hit you anyway and stop your attack. Though, he would take less health petals from you, 3 instead of 6. - Brevon's grab attack deals little damage, taking half of health petal, so you now have to dodge it too. Plus, it deals larger stunlock, putting you in danger to be striked by knife while you can't control character. - Brevon's bomb shockwaves also deal larger stunlock now. - Brevon is more smarter now, so if he uses ground time mines and you ran out of them, he already waits for you and can use or knife attack, or his grab attack to throw you RIGHT AT THE BOMBS, so they deal you huge damage. So, no more moments when he SAVES you from his own mines, grabbing ad throwing you AWAY from them and their explosion. At the same time, his own attacks also can hurt him, so he would think twice before landing right at the bombs he throwed. - Brevon now can throw instant-explosion mines, throwing them on the floor or walls, like he does when you're on ceiling. - Brevon now can make more than one shot from his personal blaster. And he definitely can make direct shots (right at your current position) and deflection shots (where you will be at the moment when plasma blast gets you) - His flying super attack move pattern is randomized. It gives hint where he's going to appear, but you have short time to react. - When he exits his super attack move, he can appear in any place on battle area. If appears right to you, he makes his dangerous knife attack that can instantly kill you if you don't dodge or doesn't have a shield. ------------ what do you think? :3
yes. :D actually, I got mad when I read they reduced Serpentine's and Brevon's boss fights difficulty because people complained about it... SRSL? Is it modern generation of players?.. :( I'm very sad. I'm not pro gamer or hardcore liker, but srsl, if people complain if they lose dozen lives in one boss battle on their first play... sigh really, there isn't even real game overs since if you get it, you will restart from last checkpoint! Where is that old retro hardcore when you have to restart from the very beginning of the game if you fail? If it's current state of things... Well then. I would like to see hardcore difficulty.
Just finished absolutely random time attack for Final Dreadnought 4 on hard. NO SINGLE DEATH during the whole level including all three bosses and total what-the-fuuuu-was-that???? And that was my only fourth Lilac gameplay on this level and final bosses battle... I DEMAND IMPOSSIBLE MODE !
Ozband Iresh Welp, I'm not actually gamer, so... I have no any skills. Frankly, I was playing on Casual (yeah, I'm noob). I tried to play on Normal, and at first time everything went more or less smoothly. But on Neera I died about 10 times. Then deaths on Pangu Dragon + 7 times. And after dying on Dail's Mechaworm (or what is it?) I couldn't stand it and threw up on Casual. I add that I played on the keyboard.
Fun fact: I'm not a gamer too. Not at all. But even myself thinks that games should give you CHALLENGE and teach you reaction, language skills, and other stuff. So, switching to casual (oh my, I would like to see how you do that in retro games XD) won't give any use and proper fun from game. What do you think is better: to complete a game in single day without any fun, or: to spend more time trying to beat this, so when you do, you feel yourself good and get endless joy because you beat this game and pass the challenge, pass this test that tests your willpower.
I'll be honest with ya, Brevon MAY be great at being the king of all nasty cretins but he doesn't have a substantial backstory like I don't know... Dr. Doom's or Darth Vavder's! XP
mrwizzardknight To be fair, Dr. Doom has had relatively constant story since his inception in 1962 and Darth Vader since 1977 That said, I don't think there's much to really know about Brevon. Sometimes, a villain just needs to be a monster in his actions. Not my favorite villain by far, but he plays the role well enough.
+mrwizzardknight IMO, he doesn't need a substantial backstory - his actions in the game established him as a ruthless, pragmatic, sociopathic warlord badass, knowing more than that isn't really necessary to flesh out what makes him an impressive character. As a concept he's not exactly original, but sometimes it's just refreshing to be up against an absolute asshole who truly lives up to their reputation.

This was the first boss on the game that i losed over 23 times or more just trying to beat him :), either way, this theme is epic and really encapsulates the feel of the battle as you go (the song also reminds me of a sigma boss battle theme too)
I just played this game 1 month ago, and it already feels nostalgic??? why this game is so freaking good?
YOU... WILL... NOT... HURT... MILLA!!!!!
It's: "NOBODY.....HURTS.....MILLA!"
TheDarkWall
Well it's Brevon. He's an asshole. One of the biggest assholes, but that's what makes him a great villan :P
+TheDarkWall
Oh, don't remind me of that. You're going to break my heart again. Milla's naivety is just too much adorableness for my mind to handle. It pained me so much when she became that "thing" :(
Your floor isn't!
sad that Brevon's blade hits only FLOOR. I would like to see how he stabs Liac/Carol in air. Otherise, he's too easy even on hard. *whistles*
Brevon: (breaths heavily) who are you, pesticide rodent?
Sonic: I’m sonic, Sonic the hedgehog!
Brevon: Sonic, ay? I’ll remember that when I make this spaceship your grave!!
I never liked the sonic games actually :(
@@jfiffl7 did you like this game?
@@diamondmario64 In what way...? Compaired to a sonic game or just glad to be able to play it on the switch and pleased about the smooth controlls? The Ost's great and the game can get pretty hard.
@@jfiffl7 oh, I was just wondering if you didn't like this game because it has similar aspects to the Sonic series.
@@diamondmario64 I actually hate the sonic games. Their...really isent anything to them. Reminds me of a markiplier video of some coffe game and making a remark about expresso in his ass too the fullest
I believe your friends won't mind if I use them
Tails: I'm not scared, I'm not scared... I can do this

FINALY SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT THIS
heh this boss was no joke his first form was just as hard as the last time you fought that mech, mosly because any strategy you previously formed wouldn't work. and on top of that beating his last form is absolutely insane. I figured when I first played the game. oh breven seems to insta-kill everyone so he's probably more bark than bite. but he's actually tougher than his mechs. it really made me believe he was a one man army.
The Freedom Planet's Final Boss is one of the Best final boss that I has played, the epic music, the background and the dificult very challenging (I has played this Game on Hard)
this battle is the sonic version of Goku vs Freeza
very epic and hard as fuck
Your Machines No Stop The Dragon Unleashed, I Will Detroy Everything You Throw than Me, I WILL YOU PAY FOR HAVE YOU DONE!!!
Zero(jedi guardian James and sith Marauder fang): "brevon, your actions endangered the lifes of those you have killed and corrupted. If you don't surrender and hand over the kingdom Stone to this world, i'm will destroy you."
Big fan of this phase, personally. Even though it consistently takes me multiple retries to beat it, I still like it.
Fuuuuuuuuck this boss on hard mode!
Full random - that's what I'm calling hard.
that's what I'm calling Normal.
I defeat it
Gothic He was that difficult to kill but I took him down and ended him
Sonic: Give up now, Brev, your plans will never help you to stop the fastest hedgehog in the world!
Brevon: I'd like to see your try.
Megaman X: It's over, Maverick scum! Your Maverick plans stops right here right now!
Brevon: I'd like to see your try.
...What?
*Sees Brevon rush at me with his blade*
*Proceeds to get Sigma phase 1 flashbacks*
man this boss was so hard
*NOBODY HURTS MILLA!*
Id like to see you try
-Exeller-
Im not scared...im not scared...I CAN DO THIS! ✊
*MEGAMAN X SIGMA BATTLE INTENSIFIES*
Sounds like Shadow the Hedgehog track
In Hard Mode, the battle is so brutal it only lasts a few seconds - you never have a chance to enjoy the soundtrack in-game!
I thort it be longer to make it harder
@@sonicandtails91 The difficulty scale in this game works by reducing the amount of punishment you can withstand. In hard mode, the final boss kills you in only 2 hits, and his attacks are extremely fast and precise.
@@michaelbuckers Ah good l I did it normal so I gessing he's weicker to kill harder at the same time
IM not scared I’m not scared I can DO THIS
Before ya know it, most if not all the quotes in the game will all probably become memes! XD
So be it.
mrwizzardknight I'd like to see them try.
+mrwizzardknight "Quack."
"It's an ambush!" Said General Gong the Panda! XD
"Well, sorrrry." - Gong
Okey, now image if this stage was in Milla's company...
FINAL ROUND, FIGHT!
Bit of the first section remind me of Zero Two from Kirby 64 0.o
This is the best final boss theme ever(just my opinion)
Man... I find this fight really fun as Carol and lilac... too bad i can't get past the first phase as Mila due to how long it takes to get a consistent hit
fire shield helps. use her block throw only as an attack. also she doesnt fight brevons third phase if you didnt know already, sorry to disappoint.
TAILS SOLO ENDING FINAL BOSS!!!
no.
only now I decided to play with video speed.
0.75 sounds so awesome as original! But with quite different style
Bro legit became a Dark Souls bossfight
OMG This Is Better Than Sonic The Hedgehog And Megaman combined!
+The Sonic Awesome Guy Thats true. Since the new Sonic games aren't the same anymore as the old ones, SEGA needs to learn from Galaxytrailer.
truearea53 either that or team up with Galaxytrailer
That's what I was thinking. If Galaxytrailer makes a big success on FP2 then maybe they should team up with SEGA for a cross over one. Like "Freedom PlanetXSonic the hedgehog".
Well that's basically what it is. Freedom Planet borrows the best aspects of both games while adding it's own individual elements to it. It's easy to see the Megaman ZXA influences when it comes to the enemy design, the fast pace puzzles and the boss patterns, while it feels like a sonic game from it's multiple path level design, Lilac's Dragon Dash and the speed.
And the music. It stayed true to its Sonic roots in having great music.
they should use the music for the giant lion robot too that's how strong he is he's bassicly a mini final boss
Lizard dude midboss wasent all that Jive either :p
Look what you made me do. Now I'm gonna have to dislike you for the rest of my life because you only called it decent lol.
1:18 my favorite part
I really wish his opening attack didn't reduce you to 1 hp on hard mode. Its really annoying that you pretty much instantly lose the fight if you don't react immediately to it.
You can jump out of the way or parry it. But regardless, all of his attacks are powerful and you're basically only allowed 3-4 hits for the entire battle.
And not a single dislike as of this comment. The way it should be for an epic final boss theme!
Be careful. Be very careful, or you'll end up summoning Arktivus to dislike it.
It's still true! 😱
Still true. An amazing theme, for an amazing battle!
This reminds me of Mistral’s theme in more ways than one.
Bro what was the mech for if you're deadlier *without it*?!?!?
Holey bloody mole, what a fight!
You know, when I started this game, my first ever playthrough was hard mode because "normal and easy is for filthy casuals XD"... and when this fight happened... man did I felt like returning to normal mode just for this phase alone. (I still did it on hard mode and it was good)
Sure, I had trouble with every boss and stage, resulting in like 4-8 lives being lost every level, some bosses kicked my heropants more than the others for being some stupid polar... panda girl with an ice stick or a mutant berserker giant snake man that had enough of my kung fu tricks... but this man alone gave me 70+ tombstones into my Lilac graveyard.

I oddly beat this phase on the first try
I'd like to see you try
At this point there is Brevon's health bar on the screen. IDK if it bothers you guys
Man when I’m getting crowned king of the galaxy I wanna slice my way out of my space limo
The fate of the world hangs in the balance
Bro just leave you with one hp bar in a single hit 💀
Also breavon: pssst pssssssstt!...
You see those lives you saved all the way?
You gonna need them now 😈
I wish Brevon has his HARD difficulty battle on NORMAL, and on HARD mode he would have:
--------------------------------
- You have to beat all boss forms per one time. If you're killed, you have to start from Turret Corridor sequence.
*ZERO FORM: TURRET CORRIDOR*
- Turret Corridor is larger and harder to pass, and can be considered as first actual form of final boss fight, or zero form.
- Exit is blocked, to unlock it, you have to destroy all locks - crystal turrets.
- Positions of crystal turrets are random.
- Randomly, one of turrets can't be destroyed by your attacks, so it has to be destroyed by main turret fire.
*FIRST FORM: ABSOLUTION*
- Absolution now has random patterns of fire of big green laser shots and rockets.
*SECOND FORM: MECHA ARMOR SUIT*
- If you dodge Mecha Armor's crazy bouncing attack before it ends, he immediatelly turn back and moves to you again, so you have to dodge it more than one time until attack ends.
- Green stars attack now affects floor too. You have to react and carefully jump through shots.
*THIRD FORM: ARKTIVUS BREVON*
- Brevon has very small health regeneration as act of revenge for Easy and Casual modes.
And he definitely can make direct shots (right at your current position) and deflection shots (where you will be at the moment when plasma blast gets you)
- His flying super attack move pattern is randomized. It gives hint where he's going to appear, but you have short time to react.
- When he exits his super attack move, he can appear in any place on battle area. If appears right to you, he makes his dangerous knife attack that can instantly kill you if you don't dodge or doesn't have a shield.

what do you think? :3
It's not HARD Mode. It's HARDCORE Mode!
yes. :D
actually, I got mad when I read they reduced Serpentine's and Brevon's boss fights difficulty because people complained about it...
SRSL? Is it modern generation of players?.. :(
I'm very sad.
I'm not pro gamer or hardcore liker, but srsl, if people complain if they lose dozen lives in one boss battle on their first play... sigh
really, there isn't even real game overs since if you get it, you will restart from last checkpoint! Where is that old retro hardcore when you have to restart from the very beginning of the game if you fail?
If it's current state of things... Well then. I would like to see hardcore difficulty.
Just finished absolutely random time attack for Final Dreadnought 4 on hard.

Felt like I was fighting a Ninja Gaiden boss here.
I'll be honest with ya, Brevon MAY be great at being the king of all nasty cretins but he doesn't have a substantial backstory like I don't know... Dr. Doom's or Darth Vavder's! XP
mrwizzardknight At least he's a way better character than fahking Dr. Robotnik.
All too true. At least the spin off cartoons made Robotnik such a cretin
mrwizzardknight To be fair, Dr. Doom has had relatively constant story since his inception in 1962 and Darth Vader since 1977
That said, I don't think there's much to really know about Brevon.
As a concept he's not exactly original, but sometimes it's just refreshing to be up against an absolute asshole who truly lives up to their reputation.
well brevon did do that to save his planet after all... not much known about the conflict he was in with the aliance. Maybe there is a nice backstory to brevon somewhere hidden in freedom planet 2
