STOLEN ROLEX WATCHES BEING RAFFLED ON WHATSAPP & TELEGRAM !!
Stolen Rolex and Audemars Piguet watches are being raffled off on encrypted messaging apps by gangs capable of earning tens of thousands of pounds for each "prize draw."
According to UK Protection, an expert in security for luxury jewellers and watch shops, criminal gangs are becoming more organized and using cutting-edge technology to avoid detection of stolen goods.
According to the business, lottery-style auctions conducted via encrypted messaging apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp are an emerging trend.
    It operates as follows:
People join groups on messaging applications and send a small monthly fee, perhaps £10, to an anonymous bank or PayPal account.
People who sign up and pay are entered into a drawing to receive a luxury watch.
Some of these messaging groups have up to 5,000 members, so £10 from each can produce £50,000 in revenue for each lottery.
"Inevitably, the watches used as prizes will have recently been stolen during a robbery from a store or from an unlucky person on the street," says a UK Protection spokesperson.
To respond to the rising number of crime in crowded cities across Europe and the US, Audemars Piguet is the first brand ever to announce a compliment replacement for their clients’ stolen watches.
In doing so, it has become the first major watch brand to provide a form of security for its clients in case their Audemars Piguet timepiece is stolen.
According to Bloomberg, Audemars Piguet guarantees that it will repair, refund or replace stolen or damaged watches purchased in 2022 or 2023 for a period of two years from the date and year of purchase.

    More about the programme
How can Audemars Piguet clients avail the guarantee? Clients who have bought any Audemars Piguet wristwatches in 2022 or 2023 can register for the new scheme. If their watch is stolen, the onus is on the client to prove that they bought the watch and are its owner. There should also be a valid police report regarding the theft of the watch.
Bloomberg says that they will have to provide a photo of the watch and serial number. Any watch that has been resold is not covered under the plan.
Once Audemars Piguet is satisfied, it will either offer a refund or a replacement of the stolen watch. In a situation where the watch is not produced anymore, a similar model in the current collection will be offered.
The programme for those who bought an Audemars Piguet watch in 2022 will end in 2024. For those who bought a watch in 2023, it will end in 2025. There were plenty of serious, restrained, elegant, and even relatively small timepieces on offer at Watches & Wonders. But a handful of brands proved that there’s truly nothing that succeeds like excess-or at least a wild swing for the fences. From the sparkling gem-set pieces designed by Chanel, Grand Seiko, Jacob & Co and more, to Rolex’s weird and wonderful new emoji watch, here are the unexpected and delightfully bonkers new watches we saw at this year’s show. Something tells us we’re going to be thinking about these things for a long time.
Rolex is so well known for its hardworking professional watches-the Submariner, Daytona, Yachtmaster, and GMT-Master II-that it’s hard to conceive of the Swiss brand making anything that isn’t wholly pragmatic. Which is why its new Day-Date 36 with emotions (“LOVE” “HAPPY” “GRATITUDE”) in the date aperture and emojis (yes, emojis) in the date window, caught so many people off guard when it was unveiled last week. Still, it’s nice to know that the Swiss masters of serious consistency can still surprise us. And with plenty of color and charm to boot. #rolex #audemarspiguet #watches
