I just finished a book by an Irish fellow who, in 1979, rode one of these from Belfast to the tip of South Africa and then from the US to Bolivia when he was 21 years old.The bike was put through literal hell and the motor never let him down, despite the extreme heat, sand and high altitudes it faced. He still owns and rides it. (Going the Wrong Way-Chris Donaldson) Any rider would enjoy it. Any Guzzi fan will feel justifiable pride.
@Thatmanstu Moto Tours: I Didn't know about the book just bought it on your recommendation 👍 I'm lucky enough to own a Le Mans, don't use it enough though..
l bought this model in about 1977/8 To my mind the original 850 LeMans (no Mk number) was the best looking.... still is.. it has such beautiful lines. The only problem l ever had with mine was the carburettor accelerator pumps would freeze up in cold weather ...(Winter time in UK)...A real super bike of its day..
Sex on wheels at the time. I recall lusting after one in 1977 just after they released, but wasn't prepared to spend the ridiculous asking price on one. Only serious critique I can make of it in class price notwithstanding was the absent practicality, comfort and styling of its dual seat. Moto Guzzi should have been done better, especially for the pillion position. For the price, the bike should have come with both dual and single seat, if not supplied, at least a single seat option. Although at that time, other than the Ducati 250/350 & 450 Desmos, 750S, 750SS and 900SS which were the converse with no dual seat, no one offered a single seat.
Good Stuff ! Great Memories for Us that Owned/Rode One,as Young Men(though quite recklessly) All I Have of It these Days is Photos and Old Insurance Papers. Now Ride a 2003 leMans,,, if You weren’t so far Away,,’would Love to Bring It to You for”What You Do with Care, TLC” maybe See You Some Day. 👌🏻👍🏻from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada
1- You forgot ( at least in the video ) to clean the forks ☝☝😐😐 2 - It's best that you do not appear ( at least in this outfit ) near the bikes.....☝☝😖😖 3 - Very nice bike, otherwise 😀😀👍👍
This is the original look for that model year. If you want spokes then you should look at the earlier 750S and 750S3 a beautiful more elegant bike definitely if you haven't seen one.

I fell in love with the profile of that bike in the first 5 seconds of the video. It is beautiful. Great work!
Beautiful this is the most beautiful bike ever made , except commando love them big pots sticking out side
I agree. The Guzzi Le Mans 1st generation and the Norton Commando Roadster are two of the best looking bikes all time.
That is quite something - lovely work guys!
You are the best, Moe. Always appreciate your expert advice and professional builds.

Hi Moe, another great job, by the way your legs are such a distraction in all of your videos, especially the when offset by the white socks!!!!
How come carburetor bikes sound more awesome than injected? Beautiful bike, if I owned it, it would be a daily rider.
Thanks Henry!

Thanks for the tips!
The back wheel should be wider and wheels should have spokes to look more vintage!
I dislike the exaust pipes...

Just say that you don't like the look of the guzzi le mans! That's what they look like 👍.
