Fab review, thank you for sharing it. What set the Hornet apart from the competition was the looks. Utterly drop dead gorgeous. I have not owned a bike for some time (I have a full bike licence), One of these looks really tempting...
I have the same bike with me..Wht a masterpiece it is...I feel very proud when I rev it upto 18k while new lawnmowers such as CBR 250 or ninja screems itz ruthless single or twin sound! And this is the naked version of 90's Honda CBR 250 R (Hurricane)!
@@MotoDragon I'm learning the past 5 months on it and I love it, check out my channel I have some videos of me riding on it hitting 150khm in Wicklow gap and corners haha I also got a shot of my dad's cbr 1100xx super blackbird and hit 240khm that video is also up 😂
I want to know some points about VTR 250 and hornet 250 even they're from the same brand. These motorcycles are almost the same on the frame and machine capacity. So I would like to know which one is the best to commute and save petroleum much more than one? For the sound, I feel hornet is the best like a race bike and VTR is a little noise. For the hornet pipe, could it burn the back sitter? I always take arid with a person behind me.
Hornet 250 is not great for 2 people because of factory seat, but if you change that, might be comfy enough, be aware it's not great for motorway, mainly city. Other than that it looks great, sounds great and it's not so picky on fuel if you keep them revs low cuz it has 6 gears, but with that sound it's hard to keep low Rev tho 😂
And no, it won't burn passanger as it have pegs on the frame made for passenger which are folding. No probs with that, just seat is pretty slippy and everytime you break you get pressure from behind
Do you know what model of this bike is the best year made in , if you get me. I'm deciding on buying either a 2003 model,53km. if not for an extra 500 for a 2008, with 27km. But I'm thinking which model is better?. If you can help. Thanks
I have hornet 250 1997 and it's great as a first bike cuz the frame of this bike is same as any bigger engine naked motor just engine is small as example 600hornet is using same frame as 250,so that would give you a feel how to control bigger bikes, but don't forget it's much lighter than 600 so keep that in mind, the only thing I would suggest is to get brakes on both sides on front wheel disc. Factory ones have only one on front right side, but there's enough space to get another one in other side. Reason I'm saying this is because I had incident with that bike, thanks god I'm okay and bike is fixed now, but that would be my recommendation.
I'm 18 (also in ireland), thinking about getting an A2 license and picking up this bike, how much do you think insurance will be for this as a first bike? And is there much of a difference between learner permit insurance and full license?
I'd say about 800-1000 euro, they will fuck you over in the first year and then it goes down so much in the second you. Mine was 800 and went down to 298
Sorry dude I only seen your question there, if it is still any use to you I'd say it would be about 1000 easily. Assuming you're from Ireland and on a learner license
Mohammed Dalaf I'm 19 insurance with carol nash was 1100. you can get it with liberty for around the same. tell carol nash that when you ring them and they'll give you a better quote
One recently came up for sale in my country(Latvia). The woman says its under 1000€, ridiculous for that bike even where you can easily find it. Currently only one for sale in lhd europe i could find. I have a feeling that she doesnt really know its value
I always think it would make sense to have a smaller bike for commuting, the only thing is, when I sit on them, they feel to small. Well I am 6'2/6'3. How you think the Hornet frame would fit ? Nice video and thanks for sharing.
If I lived in Dublin and didn't have to commute 500ks a week I'd love it haha. I'm about 6ft and it's on a 600 frame and fits nice, when we meet up you can have a drive around on it, see what you think. Great little bike
+Moto Dragon I was living in Ranelagh, 5 minutes WALK from work, but with the new bike I said I wanna ride, so I moved out and have now 10 miles in the morning and in the evening to ride LOL. Did you check your messages ?
I used to have the 600cc version of this in the same colour and loved it, regret selling that bike.
IRISHROVER me too got a zx6r but miss my blue hornet which is why I'm here

Had the same bike, sad that new 250-300 are single cyl. These little screamers are fun to drive, very lightweight and agile. Sad that I had to sell it.
Hi mate, I've just bought a very clean 96 model, you mentioned the cbr1000 caliper? What year would that be? Is it a direct bolt on?
Kind regards
I watched your vid bro, and i miss my hornet 250
So do I man. After all my bikes it's was the most fun and reliable
Thinking of getting this on my A2, what do you reckon? Cheers
great video
Cheers
Few years later lad but did u have the hornet on the a2?
Yes, the hornet 250 is an A2 legal bike
Did you make recordings from a helicopter?
30 euro a week damn when I go out on a ride to Wicklow gap I spend 20 getting there and back on petrol
Whne you commute on it, it was great once you opened it up is drank the juice. Still one of my favourite bikes

I own a fz6n S2 and I love the inline 4, and I'm getting the hornet as a 2nd bike
Can't go wrong with it as a 2nd bike 👌
I'm getting this bike because this is the only bike that I can drive in my country

very nice, looking into getting one for myself. I have a ybr 125 but need the extra acceleration this bike would give
+KieranK695 yrb is a great city bike, 250 has loads of acceleration for what it is
+Moto Dragon what's the seat height like? the YBR is perfect for me. I'm 5"7
+KieranK695 Wouldn't be much different, only real difference is the width. My dad is 5"8 and he was able to sit on it fine
+Moto Dragon sound. one last question haha. how did you do the sticker bombing?
+KieranK695 Haha no problem, its a vinyl wrap. Bought it on ebay
good video, thinking of buying one soon. who are you insured with, finding it hard to find someone who will insure me
+seanviper99 Im with liberty, what age and license type are you ?
+Moto Dragon 23 and A2 provisional
+seanviper99 Should be able to get insured no problem, I was 20 with an a2 and it was 302 for the year

I don't think there is any difference between the models. They are all the same base bike. I'd go. For the newer one
@@MotoDragon Oh alright then, thanks then
How has the reliability been on the bike?
I'm looking at 1999 model with 34,000kms. You reckon it's too old for a first bike?

I paid 1250 for first time insurance in Dublin, Liberty insurance
Nice bike
2024 anyone here 😢❤
what the top speed on it ?
About 115 MPH
Do you know how much it is for insurance for an 18 year old for motorcycle, just a guess if you can
Sorry dude I only seen your question there, if it is still any use to you I'd say it would be about 1000 easily. Assuming you're from Ireland and on a learner license
Moto Dragon any insurance companies you recommend ?
No they are all robbing bastards haha. Try Liberty, Carole Nash and Principe
Mohammed Dalaf I'm 19 insurance with carol nash was 1100. you can get it with liberty for around the same. tell carol nash that when you ring them and they'll give you a better quote
My nsr 80 is 6 speed

+PaddyBearMalin Hey man, kept you in mind. Selling bike, you still interested ?
