I really appreciate the time it took for you to film this video. It was weeks of your life! It was great to see your whole journey in one video rather than several short ones with gaps in between. I find it much more satisfying. It’s like it’s own little movie, with a beginning, middle and conclusion. I know the feeling of moving mate. Been relocating from state to state then country to country and from Sydney 8 months ago living there for 3 years then finally bought our house in Melbourne in December '23. Finally got my own garden to work on. We have two pergolas then biggest one can be use as a greenhouse so now I am building my plants as this large pergola is fully enclosed and filtered beige roof so my albo and thai monsteras are very happy without any issues of burning leaves. So happy to finally have our own home that we can do whatever we want. Your videos helps a lot. Made moss poles after watching the way you do it. Hopefully you'll get the place of your own soon! Unfortunately it’s true! We just got back from our wedding in Hawaii, I brought back tons of seeds and cuttings (most, I declared legally 😂) and so looking forward to seeing how big I can get everything! The only one I wasn’t sure about was a huge 4 foot leaved pothos cutting (made into wet sticks) and packed them in moist paper towel, they’re all sprouting!! Mine may be bigger than yours eventually!! 😂
If you ever get a chance, visit the Hawaii botanical garden near Hilo on the big island, it blew my mind, 80% of the plants there I have at home, but 800 times bigger!

Moving is not fun, wow , can't believe you need to again, but like you said , maybe for a reason. Congrats on the new place and finding it right away . That backyard looks great with some extra space in comparison with the greenhouse, seating etc, a nicer layout that way , with the balcony off each room to boot . A bathroom for each... perfect for living with a room mate . Mm the owners were pretty old, I doubt they’ll be game for all that gardening and adding a greenhouse etc. housing in australia is a problem atm so I reckon they just had no other option but to move back in instead of using it as an investment property but who knows 🤷🏻♂️ and buying my own place is very unrealistic anytime soon given the prices 😵💫😵💫

Ugh, I've been in your situation. Moved into a place and four months in, I got a thirty day notice to vacate because the building had been sold. BUT, look at where you live now! It's much better! Oh there’s these detailed inspection reports you do when first renting a place that shows exactly what everything looked liked :) never had any issues but i’m pretty diligent with the report & the cleaning after :)

Oh my. So sorry you have to go through so much stress of moving. I wish you can get your own permanent place after this move. It is really a lot of work moving your things. We used to rent too and have moved twice. On the second move, after 5 years of lease, the owner decided to sell the house to us. Once we paid our first mortgage, my husband decided to improve the house. And last year I decided I want plants 😁. I wish you all the best. And hopefully you get a longer stay in this new house.

Omg, what a shock. I went through this too, for two times in 4 years. First me, my son, two parrots and numerous plants were kicked out of a wonderful home with bright light and garden, where I lived for 15 years. Haven't found an affordable home with garden in time, had to move into a home without garden but with more space and also very bright light for my plants (and me). Only 4 years later I was kicked out again, and now have to life in an appartment with much less space and light. I am here since two years now, and still struggling with it. Some of my plants as well. 🥺 Fortunately you are in a position where you can rent a house, that's great! Hope you'll find a beautiful space that's fits perfectly to your wishes. We did that for 3 years in a row. I swear people renovate houses/apartments and just rent it for 1y to get the money back and either sell or move back.. Australia has a shocking rental market situation at the moment.. Also the rental market goes up so fast that it's better for the owner to get rid of you so they can increase the rent much more than if they renewed the contract to the same person... I've heard of families living in caravan parks. Rental in Oz is no jokes shocking

I know the feeling of moving mate. Been relocating from state to state then country to country and from Sydney 8 months ago living there for 3 years then finally bought our house in Melbourne in December '23. Finally got my own garden to work on. We have two pergolas then biggest one can be use as a greenhouse so now I am building my plants as this large pergola is fully enclosed and filtered beige roof so my albo and thai monsteras are very happy without any issues of burning leaves. So happy to finally have our own home that we can do whatever we want. Your videos helps a lot. Made moss poles after watching the way you do it. Hopefully you'll get the place of your own soon! Unfortunately it’s true! We just got back from our wedding in Hawaii, I brought back tons of seeds and cuttings (most, I declared legally 😂) and so looking forward to seeing how big I can get everything! The only one I wasn’t sure about was a huge 4 foot leaved pothos cutting (made into wet sticks) and packed them in moist paper towel, they’re all sprouting!! Mine may be bigger than yours eventually!! 😂
If you ever get a chance, visit the Hawaii botanical garden near Hilo on the big island, it blew my mind, 80% of the plants there I have at home, but 800 times bigger!

Moving is not fun, wow , can't believe you need to again, but like you said , maybe for a reason. Congrats on the new place and finding it right away . That backyard looks great with some extra space in comparison with the greenhouse, seating etc, a nicer layout that way , with the balcony off each room to boot . A bathroom for each... perfect for living with a room mate . Looking foward to seeing what you do with this back yard, I bet you will do some pretty cool things as well as the plant room... glad it worked out for you and your friend. You made this place look much better. I have a feeling they saw how you added the green house, redid the flowers in the back yard and I feel they wanted it back, so they could charge more rent for it. Buying a house? Suggestion…I’d do it on your own. If, you don’t own the house…if, things go bad than you will be moving out again, and living with friends can stress and break friendships. Jan this su@ks! Mm the owners were pretty old, I doubt they’ll be game for all that gardening and adding a greenhouse etc. housing in australia is a problem atm so I reckon they just had no other option but to move back in instead of using it as an investment property but who knows 🤷🏻♂️ and buying my own place is very unrealistic anytime soon given the prices 😵💫😵💫

Thankfully you have videos recording all the hard-work and progress you've been putting into this place. If the owners ever try to come after you saying they want your plants back, all you have to do is show them all the bare before photos and videos you have to prove you're the one who made it look so beautiful. 🌱💖
Oh there’s these detailed inspection reports you do when first renting a place that shows exactly what everything looked liked :) never had any issues but i’m pretty diligent with the report & the cleaning after :)

Oh my. So sorry you have to go through so much stress of moving. I wish you can get your own permanent place after this move. It is really a lot of work moving your things. We used to rent too and have moved twice. On the second move, after 5 years of lease, the owner decided to sell the house to us. Once we paid our first mortgage, my husband decided to improve the house. And last year I decided I want plants 😁. I wish you all the best. And hopefully you get a longer stay in this new house.

Omg, what a shock.
I went through this too, for two times in 4 years.
First me, my son, two parrots and numerous plants were kicked out of a wonderful home with bright light and garden, where I lived for 15 years.
Haven't found an affordable home with garden in time, had to move into a home without garden but with more space and also very bright light for my plants (and me).
Only 4 years later I was kicked out again, and now have to life in an appartment with much less space and light.
I am here since two years now, and still struggling with it. Some of my plants as well. 🥺
Fortunately you are in a position where you can rent a house, that's great!
Hope you'll find a beautiful space that's fits perfectly to your wishes.

First time I've seen your blog and am amazed at how easily you are pulling those plants out of ground. I hope that most of them survive! Plants are tough so I have my fingers crossed for them. Renting has become the norm in Australia. And, the constant worry about needing to find accommodation with prices rising constantly is totally unacceptable.

We did that for 3 years in a row. I swear people renovate houses/apartments and just rent it for 1y to get the money back and either sell or move back.. Australia has a shocking rental market situation at the moment..
Also the rental market goes up so fast that it's better for the owner to get rid of you so they can increase the rent much more than if they renewed the contract to the same person... I've heard of families living in caravan parks. Rental in Oz is no jokes shocking

The storage place is great for a little sleeping couch if you have a guest at your house.
