I dont think I encountered another style of pizza outside new york and neopolitan until detroit style (in austin of all places) but now I want to try all these rad variations
This recipe looks amazing. I am going to do it in a Detroit style pan pissing off two cities, but only because it is the best pan i have on hand for this type of pizza.
You can also par-bake these by adding minimal cheese along the edge so it doesn't shrink back when baked. Then, top it normally for the final bake. It's a lot like a Detroit-style par-bake.

What an excellent idea using paper towels and paper towel holders at each table instead of those stupid mostly useless napkins and napkin dispensers. Also, where did Pizza Hut get their idea for pan pizza? They have been making pan pizza for as long as I've been aware of pizza hut and I'm 53 y/o. Although their pan pizza doesn't taste as good as it did years ago, a supreme with bacon and meatball is my goto pizza hut pan pizza order. Just sucks that my kids don't like the veggies in a supreme so I always have to order 2 pies.
Is it at all possible to make a comparable vegan pizza like this? Because I miss good vegan pizza! I moved and there are no restaurants near me with vegan options, and especially no delicious vegan pizzas 😫
Let me start by saying A lot of people do not like to take criticism. That is a huge issue but that is a different conversation. I was born and raised in Chicago, I worked and made pizzas in multiple establishments in the city of Chicago. This is not Chicago style “pan” pizza. one major issue is the pan you are using needs to be seasoned from YEARS of use. You also need to show the ingredients and were they are from as well.That is a major player in the taste. Also, 90% of Chicago people eat "Tavern" style pizza….not pan, not deep dish, not stuffed. I also ate at Burts place for many years. I am sorry, but I am being honest. That being said, your pizza looked pretty tasty though...cheers.
