What's good #GustoNATION? In this film we visit Chicago's 5 Best Deep Dish Pizzerias, which one is YOUR favorite?
Definitely Pequods. 🤘🏼
You got to try out Pequods with a side of ranch. Sounds crazy but its so good
I still love my Giordanos. No idea why, but as much as I ate all these deep dish pizza here in Chicago My tongue used to its basic Chicago Style.
I just moved to Chicago in November last year and your channel has been a life saver!! I love it here so far and I love your recommendations ❤️🔥
Born and raised on the southside, didn't get deep dish till I was older and was able to venture out into the city, I will never eat deep dish pizza with a knife and fork, my favs are Lou Malnatis, Pizanos, and Pequod's, straight Chicago classics, great video thank you
Visited Chicago for the first time earlier this month. We tried Pequod’s, Giordano’s and Lou Malnati’s. That Pequod’s crust is the game changer! Best pizza out of the 3. Wish we could’ve tried the other pizza shops but we were only there for 4 days.
The exact 3 I want to try in Chicago.
Pequods is a step above the rest
We can debate NYC vs Chicago Pizza all day.. BUT i will say as a New Yorker that Deep Dish is SO photogenic.
And better tasting...
Shit is good too... Pair that pizza w/a ice cold brew Man, you might break out in a song. It's 4-24 5:30 in the morning & I'm thinking about getting a big pie to devour all weekend while watching sports...😋
Thank you Luis, Bartoli's, Pizanos, and Pequod's pizza are places where I can take a family member or a friend who is not from Chicago to eat pizza.
High quality video and very entertaining to watch!! Can’t wait for more. Definitely gotta try some of these spots out during the weekend too
Birthplace of many pizza styles. Excellent filming and editing
Kudos, on a great video of Chicago Classic Deep Dish pizza. What got me the most from this video was you wearing a Sox shirt in the Wrigleyville area at Pequod's. Respect, to all The Chicago Team's as a Chi-Towner. 😀👍
I like to think of Chicago Tavern style pizza as Chicago's wife. She's your rock. Your everyday. Your main.
Chicago Deep dish..... that's the goomah. Deep dish is who chicago calls when it's ready to get down, dirty and nasty.
Both belong to Chicago.
😂😂😂
I've lived in chicago the last 5 years and grew up in the suburbs. YES Chicagoans eat deep dish pizza I have since i was a child and my boyfriend and I often order it when we wanna stay in.
You two are the heart and soul of Chicago
Bless up to Pequod's! That caramelized crust is a game changer for me.
The best
Wow, just watched all your pizza and food videos, this one is a good followup to all of them.
Unos is my favorite!!! Love love love their crust
Awesome video bro!!!! Used to go down to Art of Pizza back when I was at Devry on Belmont and Western. I thought that was the best back then, early 2000s.
Pequods is the best, no question. That carmelized crust is amazing. No one would dare not finish the crust on this pie!
Mamma Mia! My mouth is watering. Ohhh! Foged Aboud It.
Love this!
Lou Malnati's was also founded in the suburbs, Lincolnwood.
That Pizzano pizza looks delicious and one that I’d like to definitely try when I get to Chicago. I like that it has a crispy crust - great for those carb cravings !!! Lol
I'm going to Chicago for the first time on July and it always makes me ansious when I visit a new place (specially since english isn't my first language), wanting to know how to take the train I came across your channel and have been watching your videos nonstop, I already have some places I want to visit as soon as I get there! Thank you for your videos, they are really useful for awkward people like me 😅
Great video. Love the blues brothers art on the wall
🍕🍕LUIS!!! MAAAAAAAN!!! I can watch this damn video all day!! Never been to the Chi but this banger just put it on my bucket list… APPRECIATE THE TOUR 💯💯💯
Pizanos has been my fav for 20 years, love it.
I've taken a lotta notes about pizza from these videos...👌🏼💯✔️ I wanna make sure I get the best tasting pie...😋🍕
Yum yum 😋 when I was a kid i could eat deep dish everyday 🤣 but my stomach can’t handle it now so I just do it for special occasions.
My wife and I are coming to Chicago this weekend! And we have been watching so many of your videos, but one I haven’t seen yet. A lot of people like to take short weekend trips and get as much done as they can, how about a 48 hours in Chicago episode with things you have to see before you leave?!
I agree
As someone who spent their entire life in the inner city of Chicago, before moving to Seattle in 2005, I recommend you guys head up to the NW side one day and try Trattoria Porretta. Their deep dish was always phenomenal and is definitely worth the trip over there. You will NOT be disappointed!👍
Where in Seattle are you going for your pizza fix? In Seattle, I have only found one place to get something close to a Chicago style pizza.
Love the video! Another deep dish spot to check out is Labriola downtown
Wow! So good 👍🏼
You’re making me miss Chicago!!
I love pequods ! Ever since my friend introduced me to this place it’s been my all time favorite. Definitely gotta check out the other locations.
Was my fave too and pizanos.
Damn right! That burnt cheese? Hell yeah!
If you are a Pequods fan, definitely try out Bert’s!
@@bigjimmy428 Fucker, just looked it up, I hate you. The pepperoni looks awesome!!!... and I love Chicago sausage!
I’m a diehard Southsider who grew up thinking the best pizza joints were only on the Southside. No one could tell me different. Then someone challenged me to try Pequads and holy smokes it’s the best ever!!! I’m in the Southwest burbs now and we still have it often!!! We either go up to Lincoln Park or get it via Dwell Social. I have one coming later in March! LOL. Thanks bro. Great video.
💯
the guy is adorable - thanks for the tips
Yummy 😋 I love deep dish pizza 🍕.
I want you to know that your videos help out locals as well. I just tried
Valois for the first time last week, amazing!!
This guy can sure eat. I’ve seen several of his videos since I will be going to Chicago for first time in March. I think I will try pequods pizza. Sounds good. I’m staying in the loop for a whole week. I have time to see the city and Chicago without just hitting the tourist spots. Any recommendations for areas or places to visit that are nice but not touristy? Including restaurants. I love food. All types so long as it has no onion lol
love it
I was hoping you were going to include your *own* neighborhood pizza joint Pequods :-) I just got back from visiting C and happened to get an Airbnb to be close to Lincoln Hall for a concert...and it happened to be right up Weber/Clayborne so within easy walking distance of that pizzeria. That's the only deep dish we tried while there...but it was delicious. The place was packed to the rafters at like 4:30 in the afternoon!
✨💎✨LiVING LIFE ✨👑🏆👑
Kudos for wearing the Sox jersey! Go Go White Sox! I loved the square cut tavern growing up, but the deep dish has a place in my heart. Oh stuffed, not deep dish.
Love Pequods and Pizzaria Uno! But love thin crust better at DiAugstinos on Addison & Southport. Definitely want to try Pizano
THX......Bro !
Wow!!Wow!!Wow!!
Noted! Thanks
Pequods FTW!
NEW FAN!
Next video you should hit “best wings in Chicago”
I travel often just to eat at Output Lounge on West Grand for the Sweet and Spicy flavor wings. Curious to see what other spots to hit next time I go
Love that u did my pi pizza. It’s my go to spot.
What we really love about My Pi is that the pizza isn't super heavy like most deep dish!
@@LuisGustoComedy yes exactly. Crust and sauce to me are the best. I understand the cheese isn’t as heavy but that’s why I love it. It’s not as heavy to eat then.
I never get their sausage though. Their pesto chicken is 🔥🔥
Grew up by Diversey n Sheffield My Pi was always my favorite especially when they were located by Clark and Fullerton…
Real Facts.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
RIP...Gullivers 😔
Gulliver's used to rule in the day I did not know they had closed until recently but in 1969 through 1976 it was definitely my go-to
Will you show us your favorite tavern style pizzas please? Mine was Nick and Vitos.
i lived in roscoe village so i used to go to art of pizza all the time. to me it is very underrated and is one of the best deep dish ive ever had besides giordanos or exchequer.
Art of Pizza is the best!
The best deep dish pizzas are definitely in Chicago.
💯
For me, it was Edwardo's with ground beef. It was so good. I haven't had much deep dish pizza since they left.
Their spinach pie was on point too 🥬🥬🥬
There is still an Edwardo's over by the gold coast I think.
Guess I need to try out Bartoli’s 🤤
I love ricobenes deep dish even though they’re more famous for their breaded steak sandwich
You guys should also try Labriola 👍
From the UK I've never had deep dish, man I would love to try this.. I'm eating that with a knife and fork though cos it looks messy but yeah when you get to the crust I'd pick it up
Wis some of the people from Chicago that come to the south east would open some of these pizzerias and other restaurants here so we can enjoy them and your fellow Chicagoans won't starve I never knew so many good foods existed until a friend invited me to NJ. .I gained ten pounds in one week but it was good 👍.
It definitely tastes different when you pick it up rather than eating it with a fork and knife!
They spitting the truth about that Pizanos crust
Totally taste different from hand to table but I like that its not too deep on #3
I'm originally from Chicago and I would order deep dish every time, but often others prefer thin crust, and who can say no to pizza, right?
OMG! This summer I'm going to Chicago for the fourth time and I did not know about this places. For sure I will try one of them. I am kind of new in the channel, why did not you include Lou Malnati's or Giordanos?
Pequods only. Those chains are horrible.
Giordanos is sooooooo overated!
@@jmx5922 Lou's is good. It's barely a chain. Giordano's is the worst. That's the commercial chicago style.
You're eating with a fork bro you're killing killing it
I’m in riverside ca and pizzanos looks dam good
I am visiting chicago this month again and want to try deep dish again beyond giordanos or Lou Malnati. But I do agree that it is most popular with tourists.
That's great
Not to get technical but Lou’s is deep dish Giordanos is actually stuffed pizza …
Haha bever thought about it before but now that u mention it , the pizza does taste different when you pick it up vs when you cut it
Facts
Rocco's in Tucson, az has a good Chicago style deep dish
Happy March! Did you ever have a meet up or plan to have a meet up in 2022? It would be fun to meet you and followers 1 day💚🍕
I want the same hoodie bro 💯 💯
I would love for you guys to go try my 3 best favorite pizza joints in Chicago and that would be Connie's..Eduardo's..and Chicago Pizza and oven grinder company..hopefully you get to try them one day I will be curious to know what's you guys thought on them..🍕🐂
You prefer Deep Dish pizza over New York style thin crust Luis?
You guys love pecuods so much cause its so similar to Detroit style!
Anyone remember Chesdan's square cut on Archer? Long gone, but eating that pizza was like eating steak.
I know Oven and Grinder does not sell deep dish pizza, but how do you like their pie?
Waiting for Pequod's!!!
Now after watching this I'm gonna go get me a deep dish slice of J.B Albertos
The deep dish pizza looks good, now if you want a good thin crust pizza, and you are near East Peoria Illinois, go to a place called FireHouse pizza and pub. It is right on main street, behind the Wendy's, get the thin crust meat lovers, it is awesome, and the only pizza I ever eat anymore.
I'm from Bartonville. FH is pretty good, I've been a few times. If I'm in the area though I'll usually get Agatucci's in Peoria, or Tyroni's in Bartonville.
I don’t haven’t eaten animals in a long while but my faves were pizanos, pequods, Due no doubt and of course Art of pizza was very good too mainly because I could get 3 different styles slices. Also I think the fullest flavor appreciation of pizza is through vegetables! Especially basil, spinach , sun dried tomatoes etc. I agree though. Hands on food is key. More flavor and energy it seems. Serious detox/fast is needed afterwards lol
Love My Pie
You gotta try Milly’s pizza. Tied with Uno for me :)
You need to start food reviews!
Now I know the top 5, Where would you rank Gino’s and Lou Malnati’s if you’re to include them out of 10 ? Thank you
It's a pizza-pie. I want.
Love the content brotha! Lmk if we could do a colab!
Unos was the spot in the 80s
Best part about Pizanos ain’t the pizza, it’s The Chach, at least, the location right by the loop.
Hey Luis a Man Vs Food challenge is can Shaquille O’Neal eat a Large Giordano’s deep dish pizza.
Deep dish is always tasting different depending on if u eat hands on or fork and knife
Pequod's! How can you not give that caramelized crust any less than a 5?
I agree it does get soft fast - but you're not going to eat more than 2 maybe 3 pieces tops in one sitting anyway. So you take the rest home and crisp the bottom in a skillet as leftovers.
Luis, where did you get the brown hoodie with roses that says Chicago?
JUGRNAUT
427 S Dearborn St
Pequod's pizza all day!
I so wish that was me.
YEP 100
He nailed it, is tourist pizza or occasion only, not what people eat like out of town think is local favorite.
Art of Pizza. Hands down.
