    Hope you’ll save some money and make some cool art with recycled aluminum wire! It might not be available in your area but it’s worth looking into!

    i don't understand... shouldn't an armature , at the end, be rooted in(to) something... so that the figure is straightup and you can start putting clay on it while it stays straight ?
    I've never done this : )

      Yes you can use a length of wire to wrap up the spine and hang the sculpture from above or you can use a section of bent metal rod to attach to the sculpture in the hips or lower torso area.

      Here's a video that shows some of the options and how I like to do it.

    Thanks for this. I am using toothpicks not clay for our animations. (see my channel) The steel wire kept breaking on the hands. I hear aluminum is much better. I worked with chicken wire too. That seems to bend well too.

      Cool! Yeah aluminum usually is bendable longer than other metals.

    what do i do if the person i am sculpting is short, like 5ft and how would it differ from someone that is 6 ft. How do i take ft to the cranium scale. It has been the main thing stopping me

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  2 місяці тому

      @@JoaoDaSilva-xd9zf you can just change the cranial system so that a 12” figure is 5ft (using 1inch as a cranial unite) and a six foot figure would be about 14” (using 1 1/6” as a cranial unit)

      @@AndrewJosephKeith So If I wanted to do a person that is 4ft it would be 10" and 3/16 would be the cranial unit? Also how complex does it get if a person is 5'3" or so,ething that just isnt exactly 4,5, or 6 ft. I also really appreciate you reaching back I was extremly lost at this cranial concept because everyone is a different size.
