In January 2020 I had roughly 490, 000 miles on my I shift volvo transmission when I finally took it into the Bakersfield, ca dealer for repair. They covered parts, and labor under warranty and I paid I close to $1700.00 for the brand new clutch and flywheel resurfacing everything but those items were under warranty. Turns out I had a bad clutch actuator and a bad air leak, but month later as I was at 498,000 miles I took it back in because of more issues and they ended up replacing the whole case with a new one and repair was close to 10k warranted. THE WAY I SAVE MY CLUTCH IS BY STARTING OFF ON 1ST GEAR ALL THE TIME AND BABYING THE TRUCK UNTIL IM IN 11TH OR 12TH GEAR. Check your transmission oil by looking at your sight glass frequently.
I change transmission filter 2x a year every 6 months and once a year in may before hot summer. Fresh air dryer assembly in november before winter and every 3 months the air dryer filter only. Never had problems. 650k miles
A bad carrier bearing causes the rear range synchronizer to fail. And all the ishift/mdrive transmission come with silicone on the back box and bell-housing from factory they do not use a gasket. Only paper/metal gaskets are on the top cover.
Remember, I really don’t care for the Volvo trucks, but it sounds like the shop cut some corners. What a shame! So what has your customer decided? Yeah, cutting corners doesn’t usually work out in the long run, and usually not even in the short run. Do you know what shop he took it to? Should he consider going back to them so they can have a chance to make it RIGHT? Well, it was just a quick thought. Enjoying what you do! 🤩
Even if the spigot bearing has failed(input shaft loose), a certified Mack/Volvo dealership can rebuild the trans. I’ve rebuilt many, these trans are very simple, but you NEED to know what you’re doing.

Hi I look you videos I'm desesperate I have 2014 mack pinnacle mdrive transmisión I buy it 2 weeks ago and since I buy it when you drive i start sometimes between gear change rpm go up and don't accelerate after a week a was taking to mechanic and rpm go up and truck dont accelerate and I have to stop for like 20 minutes onto I get gears and start diving again and keep doing it over and over ..and sometimes rpm don't even move and truck dont accelerate but if you turn it off for like 20 minutes I drive back again...I yes send you this message maybe I case you no know what it is or something anything help thk so much and God bless you ❤..keep trucking
I'm driving a 2017 Volvo Trac iShift semi truck and my truck came to a complete stop on the highway this morning .. I was doing 60mph with a fully loaded 53' trailer and it came to a complete stop fast without skidding.. Complete stop and seized up for a few min would not move..;No air leaks.. plenty of air in the tanks.. I turned it off and back on a few times set and released the brakes a couple times and all of a sudden it just released and I was able to continue driving.. Please help.. What caused this.. It was 30 degree's outside not that cold???

THAN YOU HAVE TO INSPECT TRANSMISSION CHECK THE FREE PLAY BY MAIN INPUT SHAFT IF THERES PLAY YOU HAVE TO REPLACE INPUT SHAFT WITH NEW BEARING. BUT I GUEES YOU PROBLEM IS CLUTCH ACTUATOR.. BUT IF YOU HAVE OVER 500,000 MILES. 1 REPLACE FLYWHEEL OR SEND TO BE INSPECTED BY PROFELIONAL SHOPS, 2 REPLACE CLUTCH, 3 CLUT ACTUATOR AND RIBBON HARNESS. @@rocanroller85 I payed a Mechanich to change the clutch, clutch actuator refurbished with warranty and unlimited miles, also bran new air lines, also change out side solenoid, the tech wants me to buy a half transmission and new actuator, he says that may be a bad actuator,
@@artiisa7007 IN MY EXPERIENCE AS A MECHANIC YOUR PROBLEM IS THE CLUTCH ACTUATOR. YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER THAT WORKING ON A TRANSMISSION I SHIFT NEEDS A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE. SINCE THE DIAGNOSTICS ARE BASED ON THE TRUCK MILLAGE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS AFTER REPAIRING THE TRUCK, THE CALIBRATION OF THE TRANMISSION AND THE CLUTH MUST BE CORRECT.

@@artiisa7007 REPLACE ACTUATOR NEW FROM VOLVO OR GET WARRANTY. YOU DONT HAVE TO REPLACE NOTHING IN THE TRASMISSION. IF THERES PROBLEM IN THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE THE IMPUTSHAFT WITH BEARING. MECHANIC NEED TO BE CHECK FOR FREE PLAY. BUT HWO I TOLD YOU AT MY EXPERIENCED THE ONLY PROBLEM IS ACTUATOR.
Totally depends on much shifting it does. If its doing line haul, long miles, same gear, itll outlive the engine. But city work stop start traffic, itll only live for so long before syncronisors wear out etc

I replaced mine at 750k reman trans plus brand new TCU. I have 955k right now original clutch still on there .
I dont belive you about clutch is the wors clutch ever made they dont last longer than 500,000 miles

that is a very common failure the syncro and range cone can be serviced as long as input shaft is not loose

I have a 2016 Volvo 780 with 410k miles the other day so turned it on it said transmission low air supply. What does that mean?
Seems like the truck lost air overnight. Build air pressure then inspect for air leaks.
