Victoria 3 have done some live stream before lunch if you remember, the most important problem was that programers played it , so most of stream time spent on them finding what they want to do . I suggest you if you want to showcase a part of game , you can cooperate with some GSG content creators , they know how to paly game that is interesting for players . I personally recommend ISorrowproductions , Ludi It Histora , Generalist gaming and a lot more GSG creators.
Im very happy to see the progress thats been made since i last saw the game. Im especially interested in the simplicity of single systems and the incredible complexity that interlocking them is bringing to the table. There seems to be surprisingly little abstraction going on, which allows for a great degree of moddability as well, especially coupled with the way provinces and states seem to be handled. Depending on how easy or difficult it will be to modify numbers and ownership in the game files, this games modding scene may very well blow up immediately.
@@ds2sofs It's not really minute, moving troops by rail had massive consequences due to the speed and efficiency of mobilisation, being able to move troops by rail should be as important as switching to bolt-action rifles.
@@mullerreus145 You are absolutely delusional and should not design video games in any way whatsoever. It's an insignificant detail in the grand scheme of developing a game in relation to balance, not to mention you'd have to be extremely pedantic to implement said details into gameplay or add useless depth to already sophisticated mechanics. You could pull out dozen little historical facts about the growing industry that could cripple the game development and still be left unsatisfied with the end product, it's unfeasible to include every minute little detail.
@ds2sofs I think the gameplay reflects the "minute" historical detail. Germany historically didn't build railways this early, so it is very expensive to.
Looks good. Wish that strategy game devs would just skip on the realistic graphics and just make games with board game map layers. I prefer them and they are better on performance.
Another really cool thing is having Rankings for each development in the game! Victoria 3 does this very well (it could be better) and for me all games could have them, because that way the player will always have an objective to pursue in the game (because you can gain or lose development in an area). Being able to compete against other nations through Rankings in several areas is really cool! Economy, GDP, military, territory, HDI, etc., are examples of areas to create rankings between countries.
I've been so excited for this game to come out. It looks great so far and you guys seem very interested in what you are crafting, and I very much get more of a human feel behind this dev diary compared to those of other games. Keep up the great work!
I liked a lot. This initiative hopefully will shake the bosses of the market. One thing that I want to see is wide range of diplomatically options, cleaver AI, domestic politics and strong existence of public so we can feel both international and domestical pressure while trying to control and balance it. Additionally do we have an option to bond two armies and do you guys consider variety of tasks for navies and armies? I hope domestic and international policies will be one of the core elements of the game. Long story short; Tuned in, excited and hopeful. This is how I see this game right now. Greetings from Turkiye
I kinda like the boardgame-esque appearence of the zoomed out map, with the red buildings and figurines. Do you think there could be a way to keep this consistent on the zoomed in levels, but with more detail? (Instead of the semi-realistic appearance with grass texturing and colored life-like models.) I think it could make your game seem more unique compared to the Paradox titans.
awesome, only thing i can suggest is perhaps being able to privatize ports, railroads, healthcare, and education if you wanted to have a very capitalist free market country rather than having them be built and owned by the government (player)
The game looks great. I just wonder if the border when u click on ur nation will stay the same ( the square type of border like civ ) Or will be changed to match the theme of like vic 3 and eu4 and such.
It's interesting to see a classical hex map projected on a sphere. In a typical 2D hex game, such as civilization games, the the map is a 2D array and hexes can have a classical (x, y) reference, but here this just doesn't seem possible. Is the hex network modeled as a graph under the hood? At any rate, the game looks great, must be an extremely ambitious project for a small studio to make a game of this scale.
Just a small thing, but I suddenly had the urge to check out how this game was going, and it took me like 20 minutes trying to find any trace of it on the Internet. Lol. I even discovered grey eminence trying to find this. I really thought this game was named age of wonders for some reason.
Is it only possible to finish travelling by rail at another city? If yes, then how do you handle the case where you are at war, the enemy has taken the hex with the city and you want to move an army by rail to the frontline? Do you travel to the nearest city and march from there?
Regarding the hexes, would it be possible to let players re-draw their country's map, like transferring one or two hexes to a neighboring province, merging provinces, and creating an entirely new province?
Will it have foreign investment? That other countries won't for no reason be so vehemently opposed? I can finally be Shadow Switzerland and own the world?
I dont think you should need railroads or wtv connecting your cities to allow trade, ithe gane should start with a massive debuff on how much trade can be done, and for every level of Infrastructure (roads and then railroads etc) the debuff gets smaller all the way to zero with tech progress giving bonuses to the trade quantity.
will there be concessions? For example as Saxony asking the Prussians for a free port in Stettin and building a Railway or using/connecting existing ones? Or you know all those colonial shenanigans - like having concessions to build Plantations in Indochina or Railways in Africa or Factories in China or Treaty Ports?
We likely won't have a concession mechanic at release besides certain provinces carved out to allow giving territories away. However, we will reassess after release after reading player feedback.
i don't like hexagons but i absolutely love it that you guys said FUCK IT and designed the map around movement (in the hexagons) and actual gameplay instead of just trying to make it pretty you should be able to set the sliders buy/sell for whole categories like commodities/metals/foods/etc i like the railway system, it's very autistic but in a good way. i can almost see this game being able of replicating napoleon's epic fail in russia, with this legendary level 99 troops having no train lines which to take and getting no supplies from their cities then just starting/disbanding eventually games look promising, maybe i won't have to play v2 to the end of my days
