  • In the spirit of the 1975 film, Adventures of the Wilderness Family, we're planning to spend 95% of our time out in National Forest Wilderness areas from late May to mid-November. Today I'm on a short hike to start preparing for what will be a truly grueling physical challenge once we're out in the wilderness and I'm loaded up with nearly 100 pounds of food and gear, including a Starlink, solar panel, power bank, and more gadgets to the keep the online businesses flourishing while we're out there. Stay tuned!

LOL! OMG the thumbnail!!! 🤣 Saving this one to watch later after I get my work done today. Please make more videos. I need to take my own advice. Haven't posted anything since November but I am in the middle of the third move in 3 years so I'm cutting myself some slack.

What are you bringing to eat when you're out there and are you going to hunt? Good luck.

Probably not too much hunting, but when hunting season rolls around in the fall I might hunt some small game. Fish is super abundant most places we'll be going, so we will eat quite a bit I imagine, although I don't know how well it will treat me in terms of Vitamin A. In the past, I've eaten a ton (I went on a 44-day solo trip and ate 98 trout if I recall). Protein is the toughest nutrient to get on long backpacking trips since uncured meat is perishable. But there are options like summer sausage and jerky of course. I actually have high hopes to do some cool stuff out there, including making my own jerky early on the trip from fresh meat. It will be crazy heavy carrying it in, but fresh steak for a couple of days followed by a lot of fresh jerky made without a bunch of shit on it will be good and probably a lot cheaper than buying jerky in the kind of huge quantities we'll be needing.

@@mattstone8111 Haha, I have. It's still a dream of mine to live out in nature and be away from much of society. First, I have to get my health situation resolved or at least improved. That or I'd need to pave a pathway and buy a scooter!
