- Tonight I am going to introduce you to my other living room, the Jazzland.
It’s been opened by Axel and Tilly Melhardt in 1972 and till today they take care of everything despite their age.
Together with their son Julius, with bartenders Michi, Martin and all the other nice people that work and live for this club, they created an atmosphere where musicians are part of the family and a home for many jazz aficionados.
My favorite gig every Year is the week I play there with my quintet in December and although the pandemic has changed everything, Jazzland will reopen on May 29th.
Since the club and it’s owners are not up to date with the possibilities of streaming concerts, I am proud to announce that this week's episode of Gansch@home will be coming to you live from Jazzland, for which tonight's show is a perfect match!
Tune in to an evening of music from the early days of jazz. With wonderful musicians and friends of mine, swinging hard and having fun with some of the greatest charts from the early 20th century.
And remember to visit Jazzland when you come to Vienna, it will still be there - promise!

------
In view of the pandemic and social distancing, Thomas Gansch poses the ultimate question: What is culture worth? In the live concerts from Gansch's music room with top-class as well as interesting musicians, this question is now being tackled together. Switch on, let yourself be entertained and inspired and show your appreciation by purchasing an imaginary admission ticket. Pay what the concert is worth to you. Not more but also not less!

Nice one, guys. Sorry I couldn't be there!
My favourite musical genres are jazz and classical. This is just wonderful. You've perfectly recreated the 1920s and 1930s sound. The jazz greats up in heaven would be applauding loudly. I notice your friends Albert and Leonhard from Gansch@Home no.1. You are all such versatile musicians, it is so impressive to hear players who love different genres and can play them all brilliantly. I wish I lived in Vienna ! I'd definitely go to this jazz club as well as the classical concerts. Still perhaps the musical capital of Europe as it was in the days of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

I discovered Jazzland by accident. I was attending a Rossini opera in Vienna and became so bored I left at intermission and went to the nearby jazz venue. Great club, great music! Thanks for keeping jazz alive. I'm sad to say there aren't many fine jazz clubs left in America.
This is wonderful Thomas and friends!
I love the music and orchestral performences from the early 20 century from USA (circus screamers, one, two steps, blues etc.).
I love the style you do it with friends- play, theatre and much joy... 1.class
Bravo, bravo, bravo, liebe Kollegen! Das war ein super schönes Konzert! Fantastische Musikalität und Hammer Soli! Weiter so!
Great artists and great music. Enjoyed!
saugeil! :D
I especially enjoy the 7:22 Wo ist Helene? and I have not been able to find any other recording or performance of it anywhere else at all.
GRANDE TOMAS GANSCH saludos Cancún Mexico
