Welcome to the 1st edition of the presentation series "Opera Instruments" by Junge Deutsche Oper and the orchestra of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
The trumpet's musical versatility is legendary: whether drama queen, royal accompanist or character actress - it can actually do everything (except being quiet)!
Pauline Woldt from the Children's chorus of the Deutsche Oper Berlin set off to an instrument expedition and meets those who need to know - the trumpeters Bertold Stecher, Thomas Schleicher and Yael Fiuza Souto from the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Have fun.

In the new film series "Opera Instruments", our education program Junge Deutsche Oper as well as musicians of the Deutsche Oper Berlin present instruments of the opera orchestra. In addition to obvious questions about sound, type of playing or range of use, our junior editors also want to know quite different things from the instrumentalists: How does one get such an instrument in the first place? Is it difficult to learn? Why does it have to be an opera orchestra anyway? What were the most embarrassing moments? It remains exciting.
