At 1:59 I can see that the aperture does not open fully. Is this at f/2.5 initially? I received mine today (FE-version) and even at f/2.5, the aperture is still a little bit closed.

So you're saying its actually more like an F/1.8 or F/2, but limited? Viltrox have done this in the past. One of their 1st ever (at least decently regarded) lenses was the 85mm F/1.8, the Mark I version, which many people hacked to get the iris to open upto F/1.6

I had a 27mm on my Fuji APS-C (near enough 40mm FF equivalent), and while I too thought ah, best of both worlds, 35 and 50 - but after years of trying to use and love it, I sold it. This is not a focal length for everyone. Some feel this way about 24mm, but I love it! - when I was younger I hated 24mm and loved 50mm, go figure.
