Relentless is the upcoming twelfth studio album by The Pretenders, scheduled to be released on 15 September 2023.
the 250 luckiest human beings on earth were at this show! truly! I took a train from Chicago the day before and arrived at the venue at 8 am to be able to see her on her birthday. Not just worth it but epic! I'm too short to be seen but if you saw someone in the very front hand her a birthday card and she comedically flipped it behind her....that was me. After the next song she knelt down with the loveliest smile I've ever seen on her and handed me her pick and we thanked each other. Thanks for posting this video!!!
Kudos for the the train trip! I was also in attendance and truly felt lucky to secure a ticket. A special hometown venue I’ve been going to since the 1980s. Chrissie didn’t seem to be too into the birthday thing when the crowd sang Happy Birthday.
@@tubes99 thanks for the kudos...it meant everything to rock w/her on her bday no matter how she felt. Several of us banded together beforehand when to start singing and yeah she cut us off lol . Later a guy next to me set a sign onstage and she actually kicked it off :o She was very awkward and didn't want it to be all about her and of course if there wasn't a little bitchy stage antic it wouldn't be a Pretenders show. In the end she did thank everyone for the wishes.
I was too late for this show, but I guess I’ll settle on seeing them at Paradiso, Amsterdam, March 27!
Hey I got a pick from her at the Detroit show!!! Was yours orange? They were so awesome...was right in front of her and they sounded great!!
@@mikemoore9009 yeah at first she handed me a plain orange one, later shoved a couple of white 'CH' ones from her mic stand in my hand.

What song is that? And is she actually billing herself as "The Pretenders?" Other than Chrissie, the common thread was Martin Chambers and he's not with them on this gig.
Donald Fagen still fronts something called "Steely Dan." Ian Anderson still tours with "Jethro Tull." If you write the songs, you get the name.
OK, figured it out. It's "A Love" off the new album "Relentless."
The current absence of Martin Chambers notwithstanding, this lineup of The Pretenders has been more or less stable since 2008. All the tracks on the last two albums were co-written by Chrissie Hynde and guitarist James Walbourne, so any notion that the current lineup is Chrissie Hynde + an anonymous pickup band is way off the mark.
