[31] Alcohol Ink, Glass and Resin Geode - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

In the studio today, Queen Katherine is making an alcohol ink and resin geode. This video is a little different as it has the good, the bad, and the ugly side of geode making. Watch to find out what is the biggest mistake made (surprises me!) and what can be done to correct it. (Hint: nothing!)
Colors used are stream and wild berry by Ranger/Tim Holtz.
To make the "shattered glass" I put a single layer of flat marbles in a skillet and turned the heat on high. Once the skillet is hot I "cooked" the flat marbles over high heat for about 5 minutes, flipping every minute or so. After 5 minutes I removed the skillet from the stove and dumped the marbles in a bowl of ice water. Once cool, remove the flat marbles and wrap them in a towel. Hit the marbles with a hammer. Board: Plywood from any big box store like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I used my jigsaw to cut out pieces of the wood in the shape I wanted.
