The kaleidoscopic cuts to diverse flickering faces, mouthing lyrics, while the boys nailed this sucker was quite moving. Home Free has demonstrated, during the covid-19 experience, a humanity and generosity of spirit that makes me feel I can be part of the greater good. God knows I have plenty of experience on the selfish side of life. While we're at it, could we straighten out this racial inequity also? Ain't it about time?
I never understood racism. My sister and I were not raised that way. Our children and grandchildren are not being raised racist either. We are all human beings.why can’t everyone see it like that. We can accomplish so much if we all work together.
I love everything about this video/song. Starting with Adam stumping was like a warning pay attention. Then Tim coming in with his deep voice added such gravitas and having Chance as the 2nd lead another deep voice again adds to the seriousness of this topic. Rob and Austin come in with their higher voices full of soul and hope. But having all those people from different ethnic groups and ages lip-sync was genius because let’s face it five white guys just singing this song would not have been as powerful.
I agree that the mix of people definitely added weight to the message. Yet, I would've listened wholeheartedly to HF by themselves! You can tell that they were feeling every bit of the words...thank you for watching!😁
@@DLynn I loved these guys since the sing-off and they stole my heart long ago not only with their music but also because of their personalities and moral compass. So of course, I would have loved this song if it was just them standing in a W singing but I felt all those different faces brought it to a new level- a more powerful level.-especially for people who may not know them that well.
Thank you for your reaction! Its wonderful to have a better understanding of Paul's life when he wrote this, so thank you. It was definitely wonderful seeing the vast number of people who lip-synched in this song & I agree the guys sounded great. Yep, except for God Bless the USA which was released on Wed July 1st to be out in time for 4th of July, the guys have been releasing a new music video every other friday starting with "Quarantine". The friday's in between are new Home Away from Home videos. They all get released at 12 central time here on youtube so 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions!!
Love the background you give on the videos, it really enriches the reactions. This one grabs you from the first foot stomp and doesn’t stop until the last words by Tim. Better, it gets the message through with strength and clarity. This will stay with us for a long time as it should!
I keep being taken aback at the variety of music these guys can do and again to realize it's all acapella. I think the device of starting with Tim's voice singing "through" the quick collage of many faces underscored the message and dramatized presentation. I really think these guys could go commercial with their little glee club. ;-)
I agree with you Ms. D., putting this in the lower register made it so much more hard hitting. I hope you are doing well sweetie... stay safe & stay strong 💜💜
Hi D. Lynn!! Thank you for another wonderful reaction!! This song quickly became a favorite of mine. It did take a couple of times, but everything just came together perfectly. I agree that the other people that were added in gave the meaning more emphasis. Adam's rhythm right off the bat added POWER. Tim's vocals started and MADE you listen. Chance complimented it even more when he came in. Rob and Austin were "the cherries on top" of this awesome sundae!!! Their adlibs made the song all that much more enjoyable. Then Tim's message at the end, wrapped it all up perfectly and brought it all home (free)!! Again, THANK YOU for a FABULOUS reaction!! Look forward to talking to you again soon!! Love ya BUNCHES!!
Sister this was awesome & yes we know these guys are not only great entertainers but thoughtful & kind & GOOD PEOPLE. Makes me believe in Home Free all that much more. God bless you & I do hope you see this message. PLEASE GO SEE HOME FREE IN PERSON, you've done enough reactions to them, you deserve to go see them, and maybe get to meet them. Other reactors have done it, you deserve it too :) I encourage you to do so.
@@DLynn just be yourself. I know several reactors that have met them in person, and the guys even know who the UA-camr reactors are....it's quite possible more than one of them have or they do regularly watch your reactions. So just continue to be yourself.... God bless sister have a great rest of your weekend
You look amazing without makeup (and with but honestly without you can see "you" if that makes sense). Great reaction and honestly this song is just so appropriate.
Lord, I was so tired yesterday, I couldn't do the makeup. I appreciate your sweetness, @Robert Bartel, though I know I look crazy here, lol! Thank you for watching!
@@DLynn Maybe my situation gives me a perspective that others may not understand. To me our outsides are wrapping paper on the true gift that is the person inside. You, the person inside, chooses to share herself with others, to explore music, to comment on how it makes you feel. That takes a courage that many lack. You research the songs to help give others history and perspective. Think about that wrapping paper, what do you do with a Christmas present, no matter how pretty it's wrapped? You ignore the outside to get to the true gift that is the person inside. You have a sense of humour and a point of view that me and many others enjoy. As I said, without the wrapping paper you are you just maybe to me even more because you're not wearing a mask of makeup. I truly wish many others would follow the example. Don't get me wrong, you look great with your makeup but it's your reaction we like, not the wrapping paper.
I was really looking forward to your reaction to this - it's such a powerful video. Thank you for the title of the Johnny Cash song, I knew it reminded me of something and I couldn't place it. I love Home Free, the fun, goofy guys enjoying making music, but when they put their talents to this kind of important message, it just shows the real depth they have. I'm glad it spoke to you as well.
Your commentary was perfect. Made me tear up just a bit. It’s just such an important message and one that people need to hear with all that’s going on today. Thanks girl!
They could have played this here in Seattle a couple of weeks ago. Well, maybe someone will catch hold of it. Love it, the guys found a good one here! Thanks! ^_^
Today is the first time that I have seen one of your reactions. I am very familiar with Home Free and agree with your observation on their talent. What really attracted me to your style of reaction was the presentation of your research before doing the reaction. It shows me that you are very interested in learning and teaching before getting emotionally involved in the music, which improves the value of your evaluation, from my perspective. Thank you.
As always loved you reaction D Lynn. I was both surprised and impressed by this video and its message. I thick the added faced were a great way to show us how we are more alike than different. Love Tim's new look to. Couldn't decide if it was pulled back or cut. I think you are right. It is cut.
It looked like a cut to me, though now I'm wondering if it _was_ just tied back🤔 This was a great cover...they always outdo themselves! Thank you for watching!😁
home free is definitely one of the better a capella singing groups but have you heard the young new all woman a capella group they are citizen queen you should give these talented singers a view they are 5 women who lall have legit vocal skills includin a contralto who carries the bass lines and a talented beatboxer who also sings alto and the mezzo and tenor carry the lead and harmony work i am a 73 yo man and I am fangirling like a loser ha ha
The only hard part about these lyrics is how few people seem to know what a fascist is now. Everyone accuses everyone else of being one and it's a bit silly.
When Home Free released this song, a number of people took offense and told them that they were no longer fans. In my opinion, Home Free is better off without people that would be offended by the message.

You said this beautifully, it takes real courage for a country group to brave saying this type of message....great Post JimBo!
This has been a pretty good month for Home Free; And if their every-other-week schedule holds up, we'll get another song in July as well.
and this is why i LOVE HOME FREE
