    Wow! Talk about shocked to hear you guys talking about me and reading my letter on the air. That was unexpected.
    A lot has changed since I first wrote that email. I'm enrolled in Liberty University, majoring in theology, and look to go into full time evangelism after retiring from police work.
    Thank you for answering my email, it was awesome to have you and Todd answer it.
    God bless,

    Okay, I think that I have prioritized Jesus over everything else in my life. The problem is that I don't think that my wife falls into this category of positively changing because I put Jesus first. Instead of getting better because I put Jesus first, my wife seems to get worse the more I have put Jesus first. I used to think putting Jesus first would be the ultimate thing that would make our marriage awesome but I'm getting the opposite effect. My wife is attacking me for putting Jesus first.

    That's it right there Todd. Thank you so much!. This is definitely the information that we need to hear a lot more from the pulpits. But after leading many people to a single prayer and no discipleship, there's even less information coming from the doctrine of sanctification; and it's the literal LIFE of the Christian. Sanctification is the answer and abiding in Christ (John Chapt. 15) to cont. bearing good fruit is "how to" for those struggling w/ lust and sin, etc. God bless.

    To Brian Perry: You may have misunderstood the message. As Todd mentioned, the husband is to be more like Jesus, and the wife to be the church. Jesus loved the church, and so should you love your wife. There is a time for biblical service that involves people out of your family, but it should not be used as an excuse to ignore the needs of your wife, and your children. They are a part of you, as you are a part of them. www.wikihow.com/Love-Your-Wife-According-to-the-Bible this explains in more detail.

  • @joyfulgal777
    @joyfulgal777 10 років тому

    For some reason, there is no reply button for Brian Perry, so I'm not sure if he'll see this. I used to think exactly like you Brian. But the gospel of Christ is not pragmatic (even if the modern church teaches pragmatism). We should never put Jesus first for any reason, including a better marriage or to change someone; we put Jesus first because He alone is worthy of everything! He alone is worthy of our devotion, no matter what the results are. Christ laid down His life for His bride, and it had nothing to do with any worth in us, so love your wife no matter what, because Christ is worthy! God Bless

    Emeal said something interesting refering to Todd Friel "God has been so good in the way he has *allowed* us to work together over the years..."
    Shouldn't he have used the word *predestined* instead of the word *allowed*? Is Living Waters borrowing from the non Calvinist world view and then going back to Calvinism when appropriate?

Unfortunately I am not able to simply pray to affect change in this world. I would love to send you my 10 reasons for me leaving Christianity.

    Hey Todd or Ray, I know we are not saved by works as the bible makes clear (Eph 2:8,9). What i have always struggled with though is that if we've grown lazy or lukewarm in our faith and don't do good works that we are sinning, so wouldn't that be living in sin by ommission and thus be damning? I get confused because good works don't save or sustain salvation, but not doing good works is sin, and thus not doing them would be living in sin which would ultimately be damning wouldn't it?
    I also worry about salvation because lust doesn't bother me with guilt like it did when i was a baby Christian. I am fighting it, but for years i just gave into it so much that the guilt is numb and sometimes I have to remind myself to repent rather then God convicting me to (so it's like it bothers me im not bothered, and usually I just repent out of fear of hell, not out of love because I grieved God's heart). I still question if i came back to God, or if i fell away and am only psyching myself that I came back and was restored? I feel like salvation can only be a 'hope so' instead of 'know so' because what if we die lukewarm, or sinning by not doing enough good we should, or cherish something more than God, or didn't really 'surrender all' literally, and then kick the bucket in that state?
    So there's a few questions there. Thanks Ray or Todd if you can take time to respond.

    • @stephenireland3816
      @stephenireland3816 8 років тому +6

      Hi Steve I'm a single Christian guy who sadly can't remarry. What has been amazing for me is simply immersing myself in his word, preaching and teaching say on the net books anything that is spiral food. What this does is washes our minds and sanctifies us. We start to find sin less and less appealing and start have self control. Yr sin problem can be an idol if we look to Jesus and ask him to give you a heart that loves him more than this world he will change u. Temptation is uncomfortable but it's normal for a Christian.. So instead of putting yr effort into trying not to sin but them into his word prayer and followship and he will change yr desires.

    God loves homeless people who are addicted to sniffing glue. That's why he sends His children to reach out to them (street ministries). The glue sniffer comes to the Lord and now belongs to Him. He may try to get off the glue or one day die from the stuff. God helps us see that guy through His eyes, and we see the mercy. We know He is now with God. Yet, for some reason, we can't see that same mercy for us when we struggle......(?)

For as the heavens higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). God is dealing with fallen mankind, and He knows how to best go about it. Have you been redeemed from the fallen state? Have you come out of the darkness and into His light?

      Jordan Burke Because we are better than Lucifer, Lucifer who is always with God most powerful all of angel he know God, He don't need evidence for God, but he want to be God
      .
      but we don't see God but surely we can experience God and still believe in him, and have Faith in him and Lucifer give up his Faith on God.
      Even Satan corrupted the original program of the creation by permission of the human. the corruption is everywhere.
      despite of all bad things may happen in this world we can still can choose to Good or Bad. to Choose life or Death.
      Good thing everyone has a spirit, even you don't believe in God, this words will still process in you mind, keep telling you the truth that there is GOD!
      but in the end it's your choice it's a freewill!

    if I am saved through faith and not being a good person, does that mean that I can be an a****** and still get to heaven?

    • @MrGyngve
      @MrGyngve 10 років тому +4

      Its not about being a "good" person. Humans are corrupt from the day theyre born till the day they die.
      But when a person is truly saved by the grace of God, they get a new heart (Ezekiel chapters 34-36 is a good read).
      A heart of flesh in that same corrupt body. They fight each other and so it goes on till the day you are gone
      from this earth.
      A heart of flesh versus a heart of stone is the image used in the bible.
      So whats your definition of being an a****?
      Jesus was very clear:
      Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also
      forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
      So grace is for free, therefore, be gracious because God was towards you and me and our wickedness.
      Being an a***** is about not being forgiving, so if you are harsh and hard, unforgiving and straight
      out evil against others, that heart of flesh and blood never came to you, and your "salvation" was artificial at best.

      Being saved by grace and receiving the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit inspires people to live better lives. God begins a good work in the one who has been redeemed by faith, and will at some future time bring it to completion. Thinking that being good will get you to heaven insults God's amazing grace!

    • @LincolnGarcia
      @LincolnGarcia 10 років тому

      what do you think? answer is No!
      Read your bible it will help you.
      The woman caught in adultery: John 8:2-11
      And don't forget, he then tells her to 'go and sin no more'
      People forget that just because Jesus died for our sins, that is not an excuse for us to continue engaging in sinful behavior. We need to repent of, and turn away from sin.
      Don't let us waste the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us!
      I hope this will help you Thanks and Bye!

    • @grumpywasp8641
      @grumpywasp8641 10 років тому

      MrGyngve Why are humans corrupt? Also, if they are corrupt the day they are born, then does that mean they are innocent before hand? So would abortion then be sending souls to heaven?
      Your argument is that of a snake salesmen. You have a fake illness, here, have this fake cure, be sure to put your money in the collection plate every week and you'll keep getting your medicine.
      Actually I guess a drug is a better analogy. You get higher serotonin levels at Church, but it quickly fades, so you go back to feel the same sense of jubilation.
      But here is the crux of the issue, what good reason do you have to believe that a god exists?

  • @TheClimaxWarrior
    @TheClimaxWarrior 10 років тому

    I prefer to treat my Wife as my best friend and lover in Christ. The sister thing is a cool analogy but it's not for me. Even, my sister I treat with the love I should. With best friends I treat them a lot better don't know why?
