Unless you're mixing songs for taylor swift then I'd say the only things left to learn basically involves moving away from basic stock compressors and plug ins into more professional sounding plug-ins. I strictly make hip-hop related beats and im trying to learn everything i can about the mixing process but that's the thing, I don't plan on mixing and mastering other genres. There isn't a one size fits all mixing approach to all the music styles. You can only go so far mixing trap and rage music so im trying to master those aspects
I can mix songs and beats for others however now that I've watched this video I understand why I could never mix my own beats. 😂, thanks man, this was very helpful, I can already hear a major difference. Grateful.
Bro I'm not kidding when I say this video has changed my life! I've been trying hard for the past 3 years trying to get my mixes right, endlessly searching for tutorial after tutorial, all giving me contradictory information and leaving me stuck. But when it came to implementing the tips you gave in this video, I literally started achieving some of the best mixes I've ever done, and it makes the mastering process even easier!! Keep up the good work, your videos are helping the next generation of artists produce quality work that the world needs!
Literally a lot of info into a simple 5 min video. A 5 MIN VIDEO!!! What courses tell you to do can be found in this video!!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Thank you so much!!! 🔥🔥👍
i just finished making a song but i didnt like the volume of some instruments, so i searched for a tutorial on how to mix your songs better and this made the song sound way better than it did before. thank you

@@FLBASICS no dickriding. You straightup got me to make an entire beat and upload it in the span of an hour following your rules. Worked like a charm! Deserves the follow!!

i swear mixing instruments always starts out beautiful and then once i add like 10 different little sonics on top of the beat it starts to fall apart. Im in my car listening and Im like wtf!? the eqing is hard for mec
I just set the volume of my laptop very high, play the track and lower the volume of sounds that hurt my ears until it sounds good. This actually works somehow
thanks for finally someone making it very clear to me that as beat makers we only need to make the pre-mix sound great as a minimum. Because we see these beat makers make beats, barely touch the volume balancing or not at all and then hand off the session to a mixer. Literally these guys think they are soo good that they just have to make the beat and hand it off, yet it works for them. They lack knowledge and lack percentage of income from the music because of that. We should all strive to be better than these platinum producers that can't even pre-mix their own beats. Pre-mix = (EQ, Volumes)
I've been thinking a lot about that recently, but I'm afraid it will ruin my channel more then help it. I'll start uploading shorts once I figure out a startegy :D
@slowedpalaceyou aren’t lying but shorts can push people to your longer videos, for every 10 people that may just watch the short I say atleast 1 or 2 will check out your channel which is not bad fr fr
when you say not surpassing 6db ceiling , do you mean to not surpass it in the master? or to not surpass with the instrument individually? for example if i put the kick at 6db and then try to increase the bass, the master will almost always go over 6 db. thanks
Hey man I made an updated version of this (one of my recent videos). I am planning on making a longer in depth beginner mixing tutorial so stay tuned for that! 😀
@@yunghurn157 and it will be good for me that he uses a loop in the next video instead of his own melody, because I can't make melodies myself, I mostly use loops
Beginner level tutorial, you need to learn so much more than that.
not neccessarily, a range of producers struggle with gain staging regardless of skill level
Like what?

I need to learn more about the mixing side like how loud do we put our instruments then have the kick clap hi hats snare

When purchasing either two packages, is it a one-time fee to keep all that's included forever?
Ibrahimovic is crazy talented, now he's teaching us how to mix beats !
Ha!
It's not just the lessons I get .. but boy u a damn comedian... Say PARALLEL again😂😂😂

Is this mixing can be applied on EDM music?
man im telling you mixing beat is damn easy mixing vocals gets as deep as pacific ocean
Gemstone 💎 ❤
I rewatch this video every time i'm mixing XD
On the drum bus do you route to this track or route to this track only?
This track only 😁
@@FLBASICS thanks
So it is ok to send the kick to the bus or just add the snar hats etc n side chain the kick n 808 separate
You can use route to this track for parallel compression
problem is if everything is at -6 when you start your master the ceiling will be too loud
does this apply to all genres like indie pop/rock too?
Why to not go below -6db for the kick ?
when you say not surpassing 6db ceiling , do you mean to not surpass it in the master? or to not surpass with the instrument individually? for example if i put the kick at 6db and then try to increase the bass, the master will almost always go over 6 db. thanks
I try not to surpass it in the master, it’s not the end of the world if your master hits -5 Db tho. 🙂
yooo i read the title and i instantly thought of that kardashian meme when she says "why would you say that" 😂
😂😂😂😂 That was not my intention
can u make a tutorial for soft cliper
Sure thing! I'll add it to my idea list and see what I can do :) Thanks!
just put soft clipper on master and dont touch it EZ

When your kicks hit at 6 it doesn’t sound punchy enough for me. I have my kick hit higher than 6.
I don’t understand. Wouldn’t putting all your sound to -6 make them all the same level?
No don’t put all the sounds at -6. Try to have the master around -6
@@FLBASICS oooh ok gotcha, thanks for the clarification 🙃
@@FLBASICS so, the master needs to be around -6 db to leave room for mastering right?
