9:26 - I used to play football for the REME (an Army Corps of about 10,000 people). I was pretty good, we all were on the team, probably better than a large portion of the country. We played a friendly against reading in 2001 when they were in the then division 2. It was like we were an under 12's team vs men. The difference was night and day. They were just faster and more accurate with their passing, better at tackling, positioning, everything. We lost 11-0. They never broke a sweat, their play was just that much more intelligent that they never needed to use their athletiscism. If that was Division 2, goodness knows how much better the premier league is. It's like a dog trying to judge how clever Einstein was.
Once played a friendly against a team of ex pros, and when I say ex they were in their 50s at least. We got battered. They barely broke into a run, it was exactly as you said, they just moved us around and always found space. It was so frustrating to play against cos no matter how hard you worked they just strolled around with their socks rolled down picking us off.

That's about the same distance a PL player runs in a 90 minute match. Their sprinting speed was faster on average, but that didn't really matter. They pulled us around like plasticine and just needed to jog through the gaps. They just had a better "football brain", could see more steps ahead than we could, and could see passes and gaps where we couldn't, and they had the ability to exploit the gaps better than we could. When you're truly good at something, you make it look easy. So easy that even laymen think they can do it, even when they can't.
Think of how many players don’t get recognition for how good they are during Balon D’or events but still attend. I say it time and time again on the offside rule. With VAR, it's pixel and frame-perfect, thus removing the attacking advantage given by "benefit of the doubt". Offside traps are being set by accident! Wenger said something similar not long after VAR was introduced all those years ago. If you added maybe a 6 inches of tolerance, (pending some testing and adjustment over a couple of seasons), you could reintroduce the attacking benefit of the offside rule. No more offside lines drawn through "toes" or "ears", and accidental offside traps. If the whole foot is advanced, it's offsite. If it's a toe, it's within an attacking tolerance. If you want to set an off-side trap, you can, but the defenders have to intend for it. It would add the directness back into the attacking game, but also reward defensive tactics. Attacking and tactical entertainment would benefit IMO.

Again, you have no idea what happened, Real were told before hand that Vinicius was going to win but then someone decided to change the voting result on the eve of the event, well on the Saturday prior. Real had organised flights from BR and Mad to Paris. Also Nike event in Paris but someone - possibly within UEFA - decided to change the result at the last minute. This is why Real and Vini decided to stay at home.
