@@mvante-wh9bq I looked into his story but it’s been awhile now and I saw his last performance trending on instagram randomly everywhere some years ago. Crazy how some real fucked up shit is happening out there even as I type this.
The most well known explanation as to why Sergio Gomez was targeted was because he had performed for a rival of the Familia Michoacana Cartel, and the M.C threatened him not to perform in Michoacan, specifically Morelia. He did so anyway and got picked up, unfortunately.
Been waiting for a video like this from you ! I myself am in a Mexican band and have always find it crazy how involved the cartel is with this genre of music ! Hope to see more videos of you covering the genre !! 🇲🇽 🇺🇸
Cartels also have a big influence in the construction industry here in Texas. I work in concrete and I’ve meet lots of sub contractors who are very successful because they have cartels funding their business as a way to launder their money. They openly talk about it at times and as a small business it’s kinda unfair when you’re trying to do things legit..
Hey at least you won’t have to respond to every call of another person. It is unfair but sooner or later those people will realize they can’t escape the cartels funding them and it will just be worse off in the end. You can’t disagree with those types of people.
Yeah but youre better off, these dudes could be snatched up and made to disappear by those same people if something goes wrong. Or theyll get thrown in the slammer if investigated. Life and freedom over money
That's like 65 percent of Mexicos businesses .if you wanna be honest. Something similar happened in India during 80s until mid 90s. A major part of the Bollywood industry was funded by Underworld organisations and Gangsters. Entire films were used to Launder Illegal Money into White Money. Being a Filmmaker, Actor etc sucked hard in that time frame. It got so bad, that majority of Bollywood started being dependant on the Criminals. A prominent Actor from that era was even arrested and tried for having alleged involved in Bombay Bomb Attacks of 1993. He was also tried for purchasing Illegal Firearms from a Prominent Gang Member (the latter of these charges turned out to be true). The Media even had recorded Phone conversation between that Actor and that Underworld Gangster. Things calmed down after Public and Political pressure on authorities to remove such criminals via crackdown. Currently, the industry is “relatively” free from this. But it left a mark on it for sure. The entire industry is corrupted with Drugs, Sex, and Nepotism. Either way, this was an amazing watch. Perhaps you will cover the topic in my comment someday.
Much of the same happens in Hollywood too. The criminals there are just very good at spreading their tendrils into the political and news media spheres too, so their misbehaviors, or even existence really, are never widely publicized
I live in Tamaulipas and we had a big rap artist coming out our city who rapped for the Cartel and its members, very promising and he already had made a name for himself, but his life got ended when he made music for the wrong crowd, I used to see him around the city all the time. Crazy.

Some of the other songs/artist you forgot to cover that actually got censored or something along the lines there is notably: El azul- junior H ft peso pluma( official song has lyrics removed and many have been wondering what is actually said there) Cuerno azulado- Natanael cano ft Gabito Ballesteros( Natanael has allegedly said that he can’t talk about the song or play it due to fear of actually being threatened by rival cartels) Other than that, I liked the video a lot

@@maxplattner6264 because, look Im not forcing you to do anything; in fact, I’m a Mexican myself.. however, the narco corridos aren’t good music. They are catchy but the lyrics are not good at all. Even if you don’t understand it, I wouldn’t recommend listening to violent corridos. Try to find the ones that don’t promote violence.
The reason why there is not much information or documentation on this topic is that compared to mariachi or ranchero music a lot of music that comes from Northern Mexico like banda and corridos are seen as sub-par, low brow culture, and is associated with narcos and violence even when the songs don’t talk about that.

the glorification of the narco life is true, as i live in the norte of méxico i see it everday. my younger brother even jokes about it. its very easy to target young boys with money, women and drugs, guns and cars. a life so "easy" that they do not see the dark side of it. its so disappointing to see young boys taking that path and for them pop out later lying on the side of some road, dead and beaten up by the enemies of the narcos they "worked" with or the cartel itself. also, pretty dope to see this type of content in english, its such a difficult topic to talk about since most sources are if not in spanish, common knowleadge in méxico.
I remember watching a documentary from vice long ago of this where they showed El Kommander and how he only sang corridos bc it’s what made money instead of his love songs
Valentín Eliziade was a real one. He was told not to sing that song at the concert the night he got killed or there would be consequences. Valentín did not care. That night he got up on the stage and started "Y esta va para toda la bola de envidiosos" (This one is for all the haters). That night he sang the song... TWICE. RIP

He was later found dead with 2 gunshots to the back of the head. I don’t know if he was tortured or not but from what I can remember he was definitely kidnapped and his def was cartel related
He had issues with a cartel member even before he started his music career

Dude, you owe nobody nothing for your precious life. Don't take it for granted❤️ You only get one, not three...
Yeah but youre better off, these dudes could be snatched up and made to disappear by those same people if something goes wrong. Or theyll get thrown in the slammer if investigated. Life and freedom over money
That's like 65 percent of Mexicos businesses .if you wanna be honest. Its pretty much a narco country ppl wanna be in denial because there are good people that don't get involved with that stuff but being extorted or working for a business owned by them(damn near all in mexico) is working with them technically.
The more I hear about Chalino Sanchez, the more I want Netflix to make a series about him. What a story.
Peso Pluma’s grandfather was a famous cartel gunman from Sinaloa known as El Culichi. Chalino Sanchez even has a song about him called Eleodoro Elenes.
I think this is dangerous info but the world is small

The criminals there are just very good at spreading their tendrils into the political and news media spheres too, so their misbehaviors, or even existence really, are never widely publicized

the glorification of the narco life is true, as i live in the norte of méxico i see it everday. my younger brother even jokes about it. its very easy to target young boys with money, women and drugs, guns and cars. a life so "easy" that they do not see the dark side of it. its so disappointing to see young boys taking that path and for them pop out later lying on the side of some road, dead and beaten up by the enemies of the narcos they "worked" with or the cartel itself.
